...... do you realise we've been chatting now for almost 18months .

Berrie, thankyou for the very kind offer to mug your children. It's much appreciated .
Tbh the car only cost £150 last year so it's reached the end of it's days I'm afraid - we need to get another one.

I know the feeling though - I think I've done really well at the shops sometimes, but try as I might I can't get it below £100 a week. Must Try Harder.

Morning

Cheers Lyra

Having probs with comp again so may not be around much until I can sort it.
Dh accepted a Firefox update on Tue evening which has sent the system do-lally.Had to uninstall it, but now dial-up speed is too low to be able to download an earlier version (or any other browser for that matter) - so I'm using IE which is also playing up.
I can't block the ads at moment either so pages are taking aaaaaaaages to download.

And we've got no water still.

And it snowed last night on top of ice so the road up the hill is very skiddy.

Bum.

You didn't managed to pick me up the real Tennant at Sainsbury's did you Lyra?

Berrie · 05/02/2009 07:22

Tee Hee Lyra. I missed a trick there, they get booze and I get bread!

MORE SNOW WOOHOO!!!

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 05/02/2009 08:42

Cheers Lyra. The G&T went down a treat.

No snow here.

Berrie · 05/02/2009 09:06

Tee hee, have spent the morning out on the close digging out cars. Dh slid all the way to the bottom and got stuck. Others made it out and then had to abandon cars and walk back as each route out of the village is a hill and cars and lorries were stuck. I'm not sure actually if school is open but I've not bothered to send ds...it's a SNOW DAY!!!

Oggsdog · 05/02/2009 10:41

I have browser!

We have snow!

Berrie · 05/02/2009 11:18

Good snow Oggs?

Oggsdog · 05/02/2009 11:50

Steady but not huge flakes. It is sticking though.

Have only a day or two's supply of chicken corn and the local supplier is away...

Berrie · 05/02/2009 12:04

Let them eat snow!

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 05/02/2009 12:21

And then off to Madame Guillotine with them?

Berrie · 05/02/2009 13:36

I'll bring the bread sauce!

ProfessorCalculus · 05/02/2009 14:24

Zeb, what are you doing drinking G&T at 8.42 in the morning!?
No more snow here yet, just rain, which is turning the old snow into ice. Lovely
I've just done my first bit of proper sewing since secondary school. It's a red and white gingham curtain to cover the horrid glass in the door leading from the kitchen to the garage. I'm very proud of it.

Oggsdog · 05/02/2009 14:36

Photo please

ProfessorCalculus · 05/02/2009 15:05

No no, tis very basic and not at all photo-worthy.

Berrie · 06/02/2009 07:33

Morning!
I really enjoyed my angel costume sewing at Christmas too. I made lots of plans to do more sewng but didn't.

I see heavy snow in Devon. Are you affected Zeb.

I'm supposed to be at work all day today but I'm waiting to find out about closures. Guess I'll just have to turn up. DS's school did not close until 8.45 am yesterday. I hear that the schools that closed earlier in the week got told off.

Oggsdog · 06/02/2009 08:55

Morning.
No time to sew at moment - too busy knitting (and sorting out sodding computer problems) .

Berrie · 07/02/2009 08:15

Hello

I hope Zeb didn't get stuck in a snow drift in her new car!

Our computer is also on the way out. I reckon we'll have to get a new one.

Oggsdog · 07/02/2009 19:10

Evening

What sort of probs are you having? Ours isn't so much the comp itself - more the slow connection.

Berrie · 09/02/2009 07:43

The lid/screen is coming off and the dvd drive keeps disconnecting itself so it won't start up.

Did you have a nice weekend? I'm a bit mentally wobbly at the moment. Nothing serious, just finding it hard. I've been having some sort of hormonal surge though as I've been very spotty and I'm sure I noticed a dim flicker of a libido. Hopefully it will all return to normal soon.

Berrie · 09/02/2009 09:55

Poor dd said she didn't want to go to pre school all the way there then clung to me oozing slow fat tears. I feel really guilty. I need to decide whether to reduve her hours. I'll have every day to myself in a year and a half and I don't want to look back and wish I'd spent more time with her...what shall I do?

ProfessorCalculus · 09/02/2009 13:06

How many hours is she doing now?

Berrie · 09/02/2009 13:13

2 full days and one morning. I think it's the full days that are a bit much.

ProfessorCalculus · 09/02/2009 13:21

Was this morning's performance a regular occurrance? And will she start nursery this Sept and reception the year after?
If I were you tbh I'd be inclined to reduce her hours, maybe to three half days. As you say, you've only got a short time left before school starts so make the most of it.
I've been really missing DS2 since he started school full time last month. I'd love to have him home more.

Berrie · 09/02/2009 13:28

The reluctance started a couple of weeks ago. She has probably only wept one other time. She didn't make a fuss, she was just very very sad.
She started whole days on Monday after Christmas. She coped ok with one full Friday.

There is no Nursery at the local schools. She will go to this preschool for the rest of this year and then when she is four for one more year.

It's hard isn't it. I don't like her being at home watching TV too much either...

ProfessorCalculus · 09/02/2009 13:42

If you cut out one of the full days, would it mean working less? And can you manage without the money?

Berrie · 09/02/2009 15:43

The opportunity has recently arisen to do another few hours. I have not taken them yet as I am nervous about taking on too much. We can manage without the money but it's difficult to resist the extra. We just need to work out what the right balance is.
