...... do you realise we've been chatting now for almost 18months .

Berrie, thankyou for the very kind offer to mug your children. It's much appreciated .
Tbh the car only cost £150 last year so it's reached the end of it's days I'm afraid - we need to get another one.

I know the feeling though - I think I've done really well at the shops sometimes, but try as I might I can't get it below £100 a week. Must Try Harder.

I'm in awe of your dedication Zeb, and Lyra.

I ate half a french stick last night covered in butter .

Oggsdog · 16/01/2009 07:29

Must clarify it was the french stick and not me that was covered in butter

Berrie · 16/01/2009 08:05

Yikes. Off to do a days supply this morning. Not very happy about it but need the money. Woke up with unfamiliar dread this morning!

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 16/01/2009 09:17

It's not dedication, it's desperation! If I fall of the wagon once, I'll fail completely, so I have to keep on it!

Good luck with instilling knowledge into the little darlings.

Terrible news. DH has been to the doc and he's off to hospital for tests for lung cancer on Monday. He'd have been sent immediately but it was too late in the day. His heart is also, apparently, f*ed. Non of this looks good. Poor, poor DH and poor, poor DS. We shall have to wait and see, but I'm not feeling very optimistic.

On a more positive note, my daddy's bought me a "new" car, which will make life easier. Just can't wait to tell them about DH (which I won't until we know anything).

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 16/01/2009 17:25

And yes, I'm drinking wine.

Oggsdog · 16/01/2009 17:40

Oh bloody hell Zeb. The poor man , he must be in pieces. So, so sorry.
Will have fingers and everything else crossed for Monday.

Berrie · 16/01/2009 18:19

Oh dear, how worrying for you. Get it down you my love, you need it.
How did the sypmtoms present? Could it be anything else?

LyraSilvertongue · 16/01/2009 22:11

OMG I'm so sorry Zeb. You must be in bits. Remember we're always here if you need to talk.

Berrie · 17/01/2009 08:50

OK today Zeb?
The waiting is the worst thing.

What's your car like?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 17/01/2009 10:13

Thanks - yes, he's not in a good way. He's most worried about DS, of course. I had him on the phone in tears yesterday morning. Poor guy, life hasn't exactly been brilliant for him recently. For me, until we get the results I guess I don't see it as real. There are a couple of other things it could be, but none are particularly nice.

The car's a silver Corsa, 3 door, 8 years old and a bargain. We just need to work out how to get it from Cambridge to Cornwall. Having said that, if DH is taken into hospital next week, my ma will be down here like a shot to look after DS.

Right, tell me what fun stuff you guys are up to this weekend.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 17/01/2009 11:33

And God forgive me but all I can think about is the future, which was looking pretty settled - all of us in Cornwall and generally getting along. Now, I fear that this has all been turned upsidedown - DH has always been a man in a hurry, convinced he'll never see old age, which explains a lot about why he is the way he is, and why we've all been through so much, driven by that fact.

Now it just feels like a huge mass of uncertainty for me, DH and DS all combined. However, we all just have to sit and wait for the time being. Is it also evil of me to say I'm glad I left when I did? I'm more than willing to go back now, if needed, but I'm relieved I've changed the nature of our relationship. God, I even feel guilty typing this.

Sorry, just letting off.

Berrie · 17/01/2009 13:19

Don't be sorry. It's quite natural for you to be feeling this way I'm sure. Good that you can wait for a diognosis before getting all what if....
Poor Dh, poor you all.

We have a friend over for the weekend and we are trying to get ourselves out and about while the weather is nice. Allotment first!

Will call in later.

Berrie · 17/01/2009 22:31

Just been to see Twilight - expecting nice dreams tonight!

Berrie · 18/01/2009 09:11

No good dreams I'm afraid. I want to see that again.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 18/01/2009 11:13

Is it really worth seeing?

Berrie · 18/01/2009 13:10

Mmmm bit of a cheesy teenage vampire film but...lovely looking boy man. Put it this way, I don't want to see it again because it's the greatest film ever! I don't know how well it comes across if you have not got the depth that reading the book gives you. (depth might not be the right word in this instance...)

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 18/01/2009 13:33

You mean in the same way that it's impossible to appreciate the full depth of the movie of War & Peace, say, if you haven't read the book first?

I guess it could take my mind of things....

Berrie · 18/01/2009 13:36

yum

Berrie · 18/01/2009 13:38

I might do an oggs and get a bit obsessed...

Berrie · 18/01/2009 13:40

infact it is becoming increasingly likely

Berrie · 18/01/2009 13:41

oh dear, at least Oggs didn't make you look at david Tennant pics

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 18/01/2009 19:29

Oh yes she did, just on another thread. [sgrin]

I'm currently obsession-free. How dull is that?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 18/01/2009 19:29
Grin
Berrie · 19/01/2009 07:29

What time does dh go in Zeb? Will he know straight away? Does he have anyone else but you to support him?
