Tis snowing here! But not sticking of course. It never bloody sticks

ThePudding · 19/01/2009 14:43

willoughby

yes it is blessedly freezing here too, very sleety snowy rain happening.

my MIL appeared with stuff for dd from New Look before xmas, I loved it. A little spring coat for her, emerald green colour, and a ruffled plaid skirt.

got a pair of jeans for £2.50 in the tesco sale! a style Ive never had before but they are great, flatter my tum and perfect length.

ther's big chunks of snow coming down within the rain now...weird...

JustDesserts · 20/01/2009 13:41

popped into Tesco again today and got another pair of 2.50 jeans for me and paid a fiver for a smart pair of cords for my mama

love bargains

JustDesserts · 20/01/2009 13:42

worley · 20/01/2009 14:47

ds2 goes to nursery. i dont know how old they are when they go to playschool/preschool. ds1 never went to our local one as he went to nursery from 8-30 till 3 everyday. poor child!! but im convinved it done him good as he is now at the top level of the reading test for the school, he is classed as a 13 years plus reader, and hes only just 10. they cant test him at the next level till high school. he reads as quick as me, pisses dp off!!

in fact ds1's fave sunbjects are the same as what mine were, english, art and science, he also loves I.T but we didnt have computers at my school!! actually we had one and it was a big deal to be allowed on in the computer room.

worley · 20/01/2009 14:48

OH dear. Am sitting in bed on the lap top. Just got back from AandE having managed to scald my face and chest.

I picked the kettle up at work expecting it to be full, and it wasn't, had just been boiled and so was lighter than I expected. I was turning around at the same time, whacked it into a doorframe I was simultaneously passing through and splashed it all over my face and chest. I've got to go back tomorrow for a dressing clinic. I've got blisters on my chest, and my face is purple, but luckily I was wearing my glasses so it missed my eye, although the socket is pretty sore and red.

worley · 21/01/2009 16:25

oh god jenn, big hugs to you. i burnt my finger on boiling sugar last week and the pain from that was bad enough! i had to sit with my finger in a cup of cold water all evening.
ds2 just came up to me and smacked the keyboard on the laptop and it soehow altered the web page. i now have no tool bar at the top, have to hover the mouse at the top of the screen to see it come back again. how do i get it back??

i also clened up this afternoon and ds2 is now standing at the toy box and emptying everything out again. literally picking it up and throwing it behind him, just to get to an ambulance toy at the bottom.

i just love children..

TheTwaMacDugs · 21/01/2009 16:59

Been shopping today with my mum.
She got dd these boots (but in black) as an early birthday present. On sale from £45 to £20

TheTwaMacDugs · 21/01/2009 17:00

black

Jennster · 21/01/2009 17:03

They are gorgeous Macdog. Dd got 3 packets of bathbombs that were in the sale at work as nobody wanted them and some bath pearl type things again in the sale. She doesn't flippin well realise yet her mummy is a cheapskate She does love them though, and have just spent a fortune on slippers and pjs from the whitecompany sale

JustDesserts · 22/01/2009 14:28

allo allo

jeez jenn hope your scalds are ok! I thought i was the one for crazy accidents...

poor worley I hate computer problems, have nop idea what to tell you, is it just on MN or on all internet/your homepage?

we scooted out to matalan this morning as nothing else to do. got my sister a big cuddly jumper in the sale (18 down to £6) it is lovely and loose round the middle for after she's given birth, only prob is is could be described as slurry colour...well perhaps not that bad but def a sludgy brown. I might keep it, its lovely and cuddly....decisions

also got dd a mr man book ,she adores them read over and over and over, this one is little miss sunshine and the witch! its a new type of one, she is into witches because weve been watching wizard of oz with her over and over...she says mummy where are the monkeys? (meaning the munchkins)

also she is saying bollocks a lot, because of my shocked reaction I think. she saw the simpsons with dh and now says 'd'oh' all the time too, and when she is very cross - 'd'oh bollocks' at the top of her voice
ive got her down for preschool now, she will start in a few weeks. I want her weeing on the toilet more than the potty by then.

Jennster · 22/01/2009 17:16

And saying bollocks less perhaps? I'm dreadful myself. Dd was sitting eating breakfast the other morning and exclaimed 'Jesus Christ!' for no particular reason. I said don't say that please so she said 'oh god'

TheTwaMacDugs · 22/01/2009 19:34

dd has the very Scottish "Jings, crivvens, help ma boooooab!!" as her epithet of chice

worley · 23/01/2009 14:56

yay, gave the computer a rest for a day and it seemes fine now, it's recovered from it's bashing by ds2. didnt tell dp ! and luckily it's working agian, thank god.

i had to see my orthopaedic consultant yesterday about me knee which is still playing up nearly 2 years after i injured it. he decided that i needed to have an injection in it to see if that helps, i didnt twig and thought it was going to be a little needle/injection. i really should have known better! it was blooming massive and 50 mls seems lot an awfull lot when its going in. i cant get over how much it hurt, he went right under my knee cap and moved it around. i very nearly swore but managed some big "oooohs" instead. i have to go back in 6 weeks again to see how it is but at the moment its worse. i hope it wears off as im on the night duty tonight, i couldnt even walk properly this morning when i got up, thankfully i didnt have to go to work and i've had amost of the day to rest.
