lol !!! goo lick
chicken soup was yummy, ds2 ate a massive bowl, ds1 had a teaspoon and wouldnt eat anymore, so had anout 4 slices of tasty wholemeal for his tea instead.

i also made some fairy cakes for them after tea, and put the plate on the table, turned round at the kitchen work top, turned back again and ds2 had bitten the top off about 5 of them !!!

so i gace them to ds1 to eat.

Jennster · 13/01/2009 22:07

Dd only eats the icing off cakes.

Got to make biscuits, fairy cakes and do a shop for dd's birthday party on saturday. Fill the kitchen cupboards (They go up to the ceiling and have been painted) and find all my baking stuff. I'm cooking a roast lamb dinner for some friends tomorrow night and have a facial booked at 2.30. I normally work Wednesdays, but swapped with my locum who had booked a dental appointment for Monday. I jumped at the chance to swap because the place where I got vouchers for Christmas is closed on Monday, and there are special offers all January.

Macdog · 14/01/2009 10:01

Potty training has been abandoned.
not a good week, dh working on Sunday and I want to go to Glasgow. Not really fair to mix her up by putting nappies back on for one day.

Start again next week

Had good day!
Went to Irvine on the train, no ticket inspector so didn't pay!!
(actually Jenn is well used to my not paying for stuff )

When we got back home we went for a trawl round the thrift shops and got dd a Teletubby hill playset with all the tubbies, noonoo etc for £1.99.
she's playing with it as I type

ThePudding · 14/01/2009 19:45

you thrifty little devil!

well I have entered 'tantrum times' with dd. all of a sudden she goes out of her way to do the exact opposite to what I want,
mealtimes are fast becoming nightmares, I think it is stemming from a bit of jealousy when I feed ds in his high chair...
I am really clueless as how to handle as previously she has been an angel..

I say come on, dinner!
she says No, and stays in lounge!

what do i do?
then she throws stuff round the kitchen whilst i (try) and ignore her...
then I shut her in the lounge as she refused to sit at table and eat anything...

with tv off...
she managed to turn ON the dvd!
so I dash back in,,,
get her in kitchen and again she refuses to eat anything, so nowIm thinking she is still a bit off with a bug she had a few days ago, so I start eating her dinner... then she does want a spoonful, so has about 3 spoons, then goes to other side of kitchen and
spits it out onto floor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So gobsmacked I took her up to her room and left her there, dh arrived home a few mins later and got her , talked to her a bit and then she came and said sorry to me!
then we all had out usual 'yogurt time'

cant mega discipline as shes only 2 and 1/2
dont know how to handle her???

Macdog · 14/01/2009 19:57

Wish I could help, but don't know how

when dd is naughty in a shop or at home the big threat is "sit on the floor". I then turn my back and ignore her for a few moments then go back to her and ask her to say 'sorry' we have a cuddle and a kiss and it's ok again.

Not sure if it will help you though

She can go to bed hungry? Dd hardly eats a thing. Ds had 3 plates of lamb pilaf tonight. They really don't need that much to eat. If she's hungry she will eat...and learn [wicked mother]

Lamb is in oven and roasties nearly done. I've just lit the wood burner for the first time in the kitchen. It looks fab.

Macdog · 14/01/2009 20:12

over woodburner

OP posts:
ThePudding · 14/01/2009 20:22

over woodburner too

ThePudding · 14/01/2009 20:23

lol at 3 plates of dinner , my ds is following the same route...

ThePudding · 14/01/2009 20:24

love 'sit on the floor'

Macdog · 15/01/2009 00:30

Yeah, seriously!
It just needs that threat and the slightest touch on her shoulder and she's down. Even the nicest little old lady can't see anything wrong with it

Admittedly you need to practice saying it in your best Glaswegian 'Taggart'esque badyin voice for full effect!!

OP posts:

lol
ds2 spits out any meat i try to sneak in his dinner. i dont know why he wont eat meat at all, he will happily sit and eat a plate full of veg. (but he will eat a cheeseburger from macdonalds [hmm)
i do have to leave the backyardigans while while he has tea otherwise he throws himself down and goes in to a full blown tantrum, so for an easy llife i leave it on, sometime i turn it off and he doesnt notice but if i have my timings wrong for tea he will still be watching it come time to sit down.

ds1 only likes the icing of the cakes too (on birthday cake, will eat my fairy cakes though)

i sooooo want a wood burner, we have a real fire and hope to have awoodburner fitted before next winter. im hoping when i get my back pay eventually we can use some of that to have it all fitted, its going to cost around £1000 but we dont have gas and our storage heaters are pretty crap by the evening time.

worley · 15/01/2009 19:50

when we went to london a few weeks ago the train was soo busy the ticket lady didnt have time to get to everyone so she announced over the radio, that people who hadnt paid should pay when they get off the train at the station. i thought yeah right, i wouldnt have got off and paid straight away there, i would have just gone on my way!!! luckily we get free tickets, which are suppossed to be single use but if we dont date it they just leave us to it, only once had the ticket person stood there and insist we fill the date in, luckily that was the last valid day of the ticket, which is why we go some much. we only get the tickets once every 4- 5 months.
