I'm off to be irrationally miffed. Hmph...

TBH I was going to post a thread about

'Which Mumsnetter would you like to meet?'

The reason I didnt was because I was worried it would get too controversial if some people werent mentioned ie me!

I like you Toothache!

Toothache, didn't you work with someone with really bad breath?? LOL I think we named him Bovril mouth/gob or similar?

Report
Tissy · 22/02/2005 10:01

No-one remembers me, either and I've been "around" ages!

JustifiedAndAncient · 22/02/2005 10:01

I've changed my name for this. I post a lot, but am only mentioned once very briefly on the thread in question and there is no "information" about me as such.

I am delighted that I seem to have remained relatively anonymous as that's what I wanted from Mumsnet. I've seen a few people on here run in to difficulties because someone has discovered who they are and made mischief or worse.

Mumsnet is an internet chat site, what my RL friends remember/think of me is what matters.

Oops,

Yes I was worried about the very same thing - that it might be very demoralising for people who were feeling fragile or were suffering low self esteem.

I remember you well Toothache!

I know where you live, you work for one of the oil companies, you have a DS (even know his name), and now a DD, you got married in October 1993 (?), your DH works for one of the big supermarkets, you recently did an absail for charity and you are one of only a few MNetters I have ever had a spat with!

BTW I have a memory for loads of really useless info, when I worked pre-children I could remember client's postcodes and things. Sigh, shame I can't remember half the stuff my DS1 needs for School on a day-to-day basis!

I would like to be remembered for my clever advice who change peoples lives..he he.
But I suppose I will be remembered for being a bit too hot-tempered and direct sometimes on certain threads.
Someone once called me smug and self-satisfied

I remember you to Tissy, you live in the West of Scotland, work for a hospital, have a DD about the same age as my DS2 (2.5 years). You b/fed for a long time. I think you may have just recently got a new kitchen? or have been thinking about one?

I think it's impossible to start a thread where someone couldn't object, you just try your best.

Littlemissbossy - Ah Bovrilman. The demise of which has been decided by a higher power (client) and he has been removed from this site. Poor man. Still, the portacabin smells better!

Tissy - I remember you!!

J&A - Dadslib and I emailed each other a couple of times about a thread(can't recall what). But when I disagreed with him on a thread he went veerrrrrrry sinister and searched on Friends Reunited. He posted the name of my DH and where I lived!! Very creepy.... so you're right.

rickman, I think it was a fantastic thread, it's really interesting to see what sticks out in peoples' minds.

I think that thread weas a self-fullfilling prophecy - if you posted about lots of other people they returned the compliment.

I remember you when you were M2T and got a little snippy with me on a TTC thread 'cos I responded to a post with a realistic rather than 'everything will be alright' comment

not that I held a grudge for ages or anything

ahhhh those early days of internet usage when things used to 'sting'

(bet you don't remember)

lol Demented - Think I've had a spat with a few people here. I was once given a cyber slap from Custardo!!! [indignant teenager emoticon]

And someone else made a horrible comment about the fact I posted whilst at work!! Basically accusing my of draining hard earned tax payers money. Perhaps I'm notorious.

I remember loads of stuff, but am a bit rusty coz I've been away.

Toothache, did Bovrilman get sacked?
Is breeze still around, guess she must have changed names? Frenchgirl is.

I think that thread proved that people remember the things that are similar to them (as enid said) or remember the people they've met or emailed a lot. For example, quite a few people with childen the same ages as mine remembered that about me and no-one remembered that much else really. In fact, none of the more salacious things I've posted here came up but that's fine by me! It proves that we are all interested when we can identify with that poster and don't remember the other stuff. Fair enough!

Tootache, what did he get as a leaving present? a years' supply of Bovril??
BTW FWIW, I really couldn't give a sh*t if people can't remember anything about me - it's a website, not a popularity contest
