think we've been deleted,so shall we put ourselves here in other subjects ?
Sleepless night fretting about T and loos and lunches at big school - how neurotic am I ?!

hotcrossbunny · 15/09/2008 15:13

Oh I did send them, or at least, I thought I sent them. I definitely put your name in... Will check... Um, I sent it to the address you sent emails to me from, is that right??? Will try again xxx

hippipotami · 15/09/2008 15:49

How odd, I have checked and it is definately not here. Nor has it fallen straight into deleted items...

It should be the same email addy from which I have sent things to you (steven davis at toucansurf dot com)

Never mind, they are bound to turn up eventually

MaryAnnSingleton · 15/09/2008 16:29

I can forward them from me if it's a pickle hotcross...
let me know
T back from, school with entire PE kit (all present and correct which is good) but only because he couldn't open his locker to put it back in - can do padlock ok but I think he couldn't unhook it...
He made it to singing class and that seemed ok - he is having a lesson with an older girl...he has to learn first 4 lines of A Whole New World (!!)
And success in cookery - really very delicious oat crunchies - much nicer than I'd anticipated -have scofffed several (as I had to evaluate them) but he burned his wrist on the stove (and typically didn't tell anyone ) but all ok I think. Pizza and fruit salad next week but I've a feeling singing lesson will coincide as the day and time changes from week to week.

hotcrossbunny · 15/09/2008 16:57

Sorry - sent them to another address Technology is beyond me!

Well done T. Sounds like it's beginning to fall into place

hippipotami · 15/09/2008 18:02

Ooooh, I got three messages now So you had the right address all along butmy server must have been slow...

Fantastic picures. Will show E when she is back from Rainbows

Pxx

hotcrossbunny · 15/09/2008 22:28

Hooray! Thought I was going mad

hippipotami · 16/09/2008 07:56

, no definately not going mad! Use the toucan surf addy from now on (you too mas) because the free surf one has been getting slower and slower. It is also selective about which messages it lets us have (we never get SIL's messages)

MaryAnnSingleton · 16/09/2008 10:55

Have tried your toucan mail thing to check it works ! will try to remember to use that one in future.
Am just doing some washing and must nip out to shops/bank. Gas man has been to do annual service and I';ve arranged for roof man to come to fix the roof next Wednesday, weather permitting - the quote was quite reasonable and they seemed very efficient.
Hotcross - dh says he hasn't seen the mill on his travels..he has been to that pub once but they walked a while to get there..I imagine his office is somewhere tucked away !

hotcrossbunny · 16/09/2008 16:33

Hello

Glad I'm not going as mad as I suspected. Am on here for a mo while B's pizza cooks. She starts Rainbows tonight...

Will pop back later xxx

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAS! XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXX

Hope you're having a lovely day and that you have sunshine like us

What are your plans for your special day? No work, I hope???!

I'm off to a Phoenix cards morning, which is good timing as I have a load of birthdays and anniversaries coming up. A friend, C, is picking me up in a few minutes.

B enjoyed Brownies, but came home totally exhausted. She was very snappy and grumpy last night and took a while to go to sleep, so she is dragging her heels a bit this morning. We'll see if she's going to manage all these activities and cut back as necessary...

I'm so excited! Dh finally booked his tank paintballing for this Saturday, so we're off to Coventry. We're booked into an hotel(ultra cheap!) for the Saturday night and hopefully we'll get a chance to catch up with some old friends while we're there. Also my Great Uncle is seriously ill in hospital there, so I'll see if he's up to a visit. He's 99 and amazing. Until he was ill, he was living alone still. The house was always immaculate, as was he, and he used to get a taxi to the shops everyday. I really hope I can be like that when I'm that age.

Hope you're both having a great day.

hotcrossbunny · 17/09/2008 09:28

Oops, don't know where the big gap came from

hippipotami · 17/09/2008 09:35

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAS

I hope you have a FANTASTIC day!!

MaryAnnSingleton · 17/09/2008 15:09

Thank you both - am having a very nice day indeed - coffee this morning in town with S and friend P has just been to have more coffee here...no work today either !
Glad B enjoyed Brownies - it's hard to know how many activities is too much, isn't it - play it by ear and see what's what... your weekend sounds great fun, hope you all enjoy it and that you get to see great uncle - he sounds amazing
Just heard that the widow of nice lollipop man who died 3 months ago has died suddenly - not sure of what but her daughter told me and was obviously very upset - what a shock for them so soon after the loss of the dad - some couples just can't cope once one has died. Am sure MIL will be ok - she is quite robust though very tiny in stature.
MIL rang to wish me happy bday,as did my own mum - must call her back.

did a tiny bit of work, only emailing a drawing for approval and responding to changes editor wants to make - nothing too taxing ! Hope you both have had a jolly day

hippipotami · 17/09/2008 21:05

Glad you did not do too much work

Enjoy your evening!

hotcrossbunny · 18/09/2008 12:04

Morning!

Glad you had a nice day MAS. I knew you would do some work

I'm just back from a coffee morning at school which was fun, if a bit disorganised. We managed to sign up 2 new parents for the PTA, which is good, and I talked to a few new faces, so hopefully they think we're a friendly bunch!

Off to the circus tonight I haven't been since I was little, so it should be fun.

Must go and hang out washing and stop eating biscuits - don't know why I'm so hungry!

MaryAnnSingleton · 18/09/2008 14:53

have fun at the circus hotcross - I am not keen on them, probably because of memories of menacing clowns - I last went when I was 6 and very poorly (very anaemic and unable to move really -have never felt so sick) and was in terror of being picked on to participate !
Hope B enjoys it though...
have written all my thank yous - I was overwhelmed by nice things.

OP posts:
hippipotami · 18/09/2008 17:37

I am with you on the eating biscuits front. Am worried about our financial situation - we struggle without the overtime, and when worried I eat....

I have however filled in an application form for a job online. Need to finish it tomorrow, but it will probably not come to anything.
Invigilating starts again early Nov for 3 weeks (mocks) so that will bring in some money

I don't remember ever going to a circus. I think my parents were / are against performing animals and hence I never got to go.

I bumped into O's fantastic Y2 teacher in Sainsbury's today. She had a baby 6 weeks ago. She has called him O!! (okay, not just the letter O but O's whole name iyswim) He was one of her favourites although she was good at hiding this and only told me once he had moved onto the junior school. Plus it is a nice name, so she really wanted to call her ds it.
I got sooooo broody seeing that little bundle all wrapped up in his sling..... sooooo sweet.....

Popped into O's school at 3pm to see the Senco. I start Toe by Toe again next week. Apparently the Y3 teachers liked the Friday afternoon set up we had, so they want me to come in and do that again, with the new Y3's.

O has the girl from across the road here to play at the moment.
He seems happier at school. Apparently littlemissstroppyknickers is no longer nasty, just her usual monosyllabic self. But no kicking or chair hooking. And apparently, her best friend who sits opposite O now is nice to O. So he tells me he is happy to sit there and just ignore littlemissstroppyknickers

Dh is working late tonight, so am doing an old favourite - fishfinger sandwiches - for tea. yum yum!

Hope the circus was good hotcross

Have a great time hotcross

hippipotami · 18/09/2008 17:41

How odd, I seem to wish hotcross a good time at the circus twice?/

MAS, sorry, did not mean to ignore you. I hope you were spoilt for your birthday What did dh buy you?[nosy emoticon]

My birthday present should have been collected today, but dh won't be able to get back to Croydon for a week. Sob. I want to see how old Betty looks.....

MaryAnnSingleton · 18/09/2008 18:14

that's nice to hear about O's former teacher (that she chose his name for her baby and he was one of her favourites !)
Good luck with job application too - fingers crossed here for you
My bday was so nice - I had lovely presents - many presents in fact as it was a [gulp] significant landmark !! Dh gave me a silver bangle, sort of twisted so it's wider then thinner iyswim
and he also got me some Jo Malone scent and a selection of Montezuma chocolate, including a huge glass jar of giant white chocolate buttons (actually that was from T) and a scarf in his family tartan to match his tie (!)
My friend S gave me a string of bunting she'd made,it's beautiful and draped in the kitchen where it looks perfect !
Bet you can't wait to see your fab fireplace - you must send a picture

OP posts:
hippipotami · 18/09/2008 18:22

Oh, presents sound fab

It was lovely to see O's old teacher. She was brandnew to teaching when she got O's class, even though she had been a diving instructor and a horse riding instructor previously
She is a real nature lover and became the oracle for all things school-garden related. She set up the landscape parties where parents came to help, she set up the woodland rangers (pupils responsible for the woodland garden) and she arranged for the pond to be re-furbished. It was re-named Pea(r)ceful Pond as her name is Miss Pearce.

I honestly did not know O was one of her faves (she was always gushingly enthusiastic over some of the girls) but she did 'click' with O straight away and he did well with her as his teacher. It wasn't until the hand-over to his lovely Y3 teacher that I found out she liked O. In fact it was the Y3 teacher that told me....
Anyroad, baby O is adorable, I was soooo broody!
I told Miss P I really want her to have E's class when she comes back of mat leave in Sept 2009. But she said she gets no say in which class she gets.... Fingers crossed...

Better go, fishfingers under grill need turning

MaryAnnSingleton · 18/09/2008 19:11

she sounds a wonderful teacher !
It's freezing here - trying not to turn thermostat up so heating will kick in !! T is reading - he must get into the good habit again - he has a Horrible Science book from school library but I want him to read some more fiction,so he is starting 'Kes' today (A Kestrel for a Knave - Kes is film title)- I feel as though I'm nagging him a bit to keep up with everything - from getting ready in the morning - eating breakfast slowly, cleaning teeth slowly - it's a job to have him dressed and ready to leave at 8.20 !

OP posts:
hippipotami · 18/09/2008 20:31

Oliver's reading has taken a nose-dive too. He read quite a bit over the summer holidays. He was given some brilliant books, part of the Jimmy McCue series by Michael Lawrence. He could not get enough of the first two and read them within days. But now he is back at school and I have to nag him to read the third one. Sigh...

It is his class assembly tomorrow, he has to be at school for 8.30. Argh...

Have just spent the entire evening writing my personal bit for the job application - job experience, other activities, why I think I will be good at teh job etc. It is nearly a page of A4 long. I typed it all into the website, saved it and it disappeared! Twice I went through all that, twice it disappeared. Am gutted! Have now saved it as a Microsoft Word document, will have to get dh to try to paste it into the application. I just hope it gets there....[fret]

Right, am going to have a hot chocolate and see what is on tv. Dh is working late tonight.

hippipotami · 18/09/2008 20:34

By the way - bangle and bunting sound fab, put pictures in your profile as I am feeling nosy adn I will put picture of Old Betty up once she is home and safely installed

MaryAnnSingleton · 18/09/2008 21:30

good luck hippi !!!!!!!!!!!!
will do a pic of bunting v soon
can't wait to see Betty
