As I say, I'm going to try to live by:

'Don't sweat the small stuff'.

I'd like to see hundreds of others and see what other people base their lives/sanity on.

So list them here!

jimjamshaslefttheyurt · 22/08/2008 23:26

"this too shall pass" is something I have found lifesaving at times.

At the moment "life is about experiences".

southeastastra · 22/08/2008 23:29

you're damned if you do, you're damned if you don't

Tiramissu · 22/08/2008 23:33

'You dont have to see it to believe it, you have to believe it to see it'

and
'Better to have many regrets for things you have done than having many regrets because you havn't done much' (sorry, i 'm translating it into english and don't know if it makes much sense

Skramble · 22/08/2008 23:36

When getting het up about certain people and things they do (naming no names) I repeat

"Little small insignificant things, big huge wonderful world"

My new year resolution was

"Don't get stressed about things you can't change" (and other peoples bad driving that hasn't actualy affected me but I have seen and pisses me off) Thats the bit DD always reminds me of, she just says "mummy, new years resolution"

Life is not about the number of breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away.

You only regret the things you don't do.

"Will it matter in a year,
Will it matter in a month,
Will it matter in a week
Will it matter tomorrow..."
Tends to put things into perspective.

"No pain, no gain,
pain is mearly an experience,
experiences are there to be enjoyed
so suffer your pain and enjoy it."

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but whips and spurs excite me

Aim low, achieve aim.

From my brother:

You can sleep when yer dead (to anyone refusing to go out on a work night)

I like carpe diem, take your chances, opportunity knocks once, gather your rosebuds etc.

chonky · 23/08/2008 20:12

Keep buggering on (a.k.a KBO in my family)

If you're going through hell keep going.

I'm another fan of 'This too will pass'

jammydodger · 23/08/2008 20:15

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

FromGirders · 23/08/2008 20:24

Small, achievable goals.

However, also a fan of just keep swimming, and this too shall pass.

But the wors most likely to come out of my mouth are "it'll be fiiine!"

Klaw · 23/08/2008 20:32

Men! You can't live them and you're not allowed to shoot them....

Seriously, I say 'If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all'.

Pity it seems to be that so few people think that way.....
