rosa how did it go?

ds was a bit "scared", but told me it was "bellissimo" when I picked him up.

Rosa · 08/09/2008 13:13

She cried when we left she wanted to stay !!
DOmani we leave the room for 15 mins I don't think she will miss me but seeing as she copies all that she sees will see as there were some bambini quite attacato .
Bless your ds I bet it is scary for them.
I must do some lavoro non ho voglia but abbiamo gruppi in arrivo and so far I have not booked anything......

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 08/09/2008 13:21

Oh bless her! how did you like the staff? were they nice?

have to go and tell mine off + lots of dusting ..............

Sputnik · 08/09/2008 13:21

That's great Rosa.
My DD was fine with it, as she had already been going to nido since 1 1/2. But I found seeing some of the others quite distressing (maybe also because I was post-natally hormonal at the time).

Then she started getting upset at being left after several months, never really understood why. Hope she'll be ok this year, as she'd only just got over it when term ended.

gio71 · 08/09/2008 14:23

ah am so glad it went well Franca and Rosa. It must be so hard to leave them, I dread the day. Great that no tears at being left anyway. Hope dd is ok when she starts back Sputnik.
at your ds wanting to learn history Franca
hi hot, glad you're well.
Put an offer in on apartment (rent) this morn -keep everything crossed for me girls. Am trying to not get too emotionally tied to this one after last few disappointments but have already been on zara home and ikea websites so not doing very well so far

francagoestohollywood · 08/09/2008 14:38

lol at Gio lurking on zara home website (have already planned a trip there with a friend, once the children are settled in their routines scolastiche)... will keep my fingers crossed for the flat!

Sputnik, I noticed that both my dc went through different stages when attending nursery (mine also started part time at 15 months, roughly), with times when they were more or less enthusiastic about going. Dd is starting tomorrow at new scuola materna, but she seems very positive about it, as her best friend is there...

Less hot here today, the scirocco seems to have gone, hopefully.

francagoestohollywood · 08/09/2008 14:40

Sputnik, forgot to say, that there are many children who find the change from nido to scuola materna quite overwhelming, and they might find the first year quite hard.

Sputnik · 08/09/2008 15:00

I think there was an element of that Franca. She went back to her old nursery a few times this summer, but after a while became adamant she didn't want to go, as it was for babies, and now prefers her school.

Gio, I happened to notice, last time I was let out for a shopping trip, there's now a Zara home on via Cola di Rienzo. Also next to the Zara at Prima Porta now. Just FYI

Rosa · 08/09/2008 16:26

Jsut popping back in - My pen drive with all my dati has died . So thats twice this year I have lost all the dati on the agencies we work with so I have to re do 2 fatture ( takes ages) so am well amused !
DD teachers were nice but the space is so small thinking that there could be 24 in there ok only really for when we arrive and go home but it is a bit cramped and the commune has not been to cut the weeds outside on the playground so no outside play yet!
Went to see a casa this am - found it small and then dh dropped bombshell as another we liked saw in June is still up for sale . So I said lets put in an offerta based on what I thought we could afford.Basically due to a very bad Sept - The Mostra di venezia bringing in zero work our incoming money is way behind for the year and the tasse di intresse have gone up again so looks like no casa for us. DH did not want to 'worry' me in my stato as he said . I went ballistic as I have been hassling agents etc to try and get things moving again. I think I said I am pregnant not stupid or words to that effect
I have been on Ikea as well and am sending Dh with list hopefully on Fri to complete dd bedroom. If I go a) I will spend more than I should and b) can't lug the stuff. - It really is so much cheaper than otehr places. No Zara home or otherwise here !

Rosa · 08/09/2008 16:26

Blimey why do I always manage to do huge posts? DO I ramble on too much guys ?

OP posts:
gio71 · 08/09/2008 16:42

You dont ramble at all Rosa, your posts are loads shorter than mine! How frustrating re house, are you going to put it on hold for a while then? How irritating re loss of dati as well, I cant cope with things like that, my pc blew up n the heat last year !!!! and i thought had lost everything. I verged on a nervous breakdown then managed to get some stuff retrieved
Sputnik Zara home on Cola di Rienzo is my 2nd home .More often than not our evening walk includes a stroll down cola di rienzo taking in Zara Home and Coin home dept. Just need a bloody place thats vuoto for me to fill up instead of living with someone elses crap come adesso!
Why hasnt the agent called me? Why is it such a slow process? I feel an ulcer developing...

Sputnik · 08/09/2008 16:48

Oh Rosa, sorry to hear of your house/money problems. We have been on again/off again to with our whole moving to Rome thing. We were advised that it would be crazy to buy a house now, especially with a large mortgage, as prices are almost certain to fall. So we are waiting. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise and in a year prices will have dropped. Maybe.

If you're definitely off then how about considering looking for a different flat to rent?

Sputnik · 08/09/2008 16:55

Gio, via Cola di Rienzo is one of my favourite Rome shopping streets, but I've managed to go shopping "al centro" pecisely once since I was 6 months pg with DS (now 15 months old). I miss it.

Very of your access to Castroni too, they have cheddar and stilton, not that it's really the weather for eating stilton atm.

francagoestohollywood · 08/09/2008 17:45

Gosh I love stilton regardless of the weather....

Rosa how upsetting about the house/money problems. Venice must be incredibly expensive, and possibly not many properties around. Try not too stress too much (easier said than done, I know)! At least you can de-stress by accessorizing dd's new cameretta! (I love ikea's bedlinen).

Gio, so you have a zara home in centro? . Here is in Assago, I always need to scroccare un passaggio a qualcuno.

Off to make dinner. Is it too hot for risotto?

Rosa · 08/09/2008 17:56

We are hoping things will go down in prezzo . But seeing as we are in tourism and the way things world wise ( thank you Mr Bush, Mr belusca, Mr Blair/ Brown and anyone else ) are we will just have to sit tight . I really do not want to go back to work unless I have to and then it cannot be a orario fisso as Dh work is so odd hours ( we start agin with the 4 am starts end of month !) We might look for something cheaper to rent but we are pretty lucky on that side as we have been here for 5 yrs and 4+4 ( official ones) are hard to find. Plus owner has just let us destroy the furniture that was in dd room .
Gio I hope it works out for you and you find somewhere!
Ikea I have put down 2 sets of bed linen for dd room , a Trofast with pink and green bins and then cornice and odd bits . and later I might just have another dip-Haven't done the food bit yet daime bars, sour cream and proper ginger bis- Cant face turning the oven on.
Its minestrina and ham for dd she has had a huge gelato con papa. and insalata for us .

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 08/09/2008 18:16

Risotto alle carote is bubblig nicely here.

How many square metres is your current flat? Yes, I'd have thought that 4+4 are pretty rare in Venice, given that it is so touristic most of the flats must be let by season, or weekly? sounds like a nightmare, really.

gio71 · 08/09/2008 19:28

ooh risotto alle carote sounds nice Franca, care to share recipe? I am crap at risotto

francagoestohollywood · 08/09/2008 19:41

Oh, I'm not the queen of risotto either , but this is really easy and, most of all, child friendly. Chop an onion and grate one big carrot (or two medium ones...) (grate the carrot the size your child's fussiness will allow. At the moment mine aren't going through a fussy stage, so I actually chop the carrot... ). Anyway, gently fry the onion and carrot in a bit of olive oil and a piece of butter. Then add the rice. In another pan boil the brodo (or water to which you'll add the dado). Once the rise is "tostato" start adding the brodo until the rice is al dente. We like this quite watery. Add parmesan and a bit of butter.

DelGirl · 08/09/2008 19:54

Hello . Whilst you're talking recipes, does anyone have one for the lemon pasta with the ham in? I lurve it but have never been able to get hold of the recipe. I did try to do a low fat version but it wasn't great. Tia

francagoestohollywood · 08/09/2008 19:55

ciao delgril, sounds delicious, but don't have recipe for it. Will look in my cookery books though

Rosa · 09/09/2008 07:38

Never had lemon pasta with ham !
I found a culprit of my farfalle - They were in the scatole of dadi!!!! It was a new packet as well !
Oh well day 2 today and have to leave her for a bit ...tissues at the ready I hope she doesn't cry I could not cope !

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 09/09/2008 08:49

I found this on the web:

Metti a cuocere l'acqua in una pentola.
Lava i limoni, asciugali e grattugiali.

Grate the peel of 2 lemons. Heat butter in a pan, then add the peel of the lemons and gently fry. Add the cream (50 gr) and a bit of salt. Use to dress tagliatelle, sprinkle with parmigiana and pieces of parma ham. Is this the right one???

Evil farfalline rosa!!!

let us know how it goes today!

Brangelina · 09/09/2008 13:23

Rosa, how did it go this morning? Was your DD OK? Was it just you with the sniffles?.

Yuk at the farfalline in the dadi! Do you think they came as an omaggio from Star?

Franca, is your DD starting today too? Do you have the same inserimento as we do - 1 wk 9-11 then the other 2 till 1?
