Brangelina · 23/07/2008 13:08

Ciao Mars

How are you doing?

Rosa · 23/07/2008 15:46

Brange I remember you had this problem last year as well - DOes he think that a 13 yr old boy would want to sleep in the same room as you all or what ? He should therefore make the decision and book one holiday for him and ds and you can bugger off with dd and stay wherever you like ....
Joking apart it must be so frustrating for you and if like my dh they will not do anything expect object when it comes to paying and then when I throw the ball back at him then he sort of gives up and I do it anyway ! Good luck and say all the 1 bedrooms are full
Hot how you feeling??

OP posts:
Brangelina · 23/07/2008 15:57

I feel like doing that Rosa, I did that at Xmas. It would be so easy for me just to go to the UK for a month. However, that would mean DD would be having another holiday without her Dad and I get the feeling if we don't nip this in the bud now then we will have a lifetime of the same old sh*t.

And then DP wonders why I feel resentment towards his DS. I don't feel resentment to the boy personally, just the daft principles DP has built up around his figure.

hotHELL · 23/07/2008 17:59

i am feeling great rosa, as long as i get to sleep lots and lots..how are you feeling? are you staying in the uk for the rest of the summer?
bran, to be honest i think it is really unappropriate for an adolescent to have to share a bedroom with his stepmom, is your dh mad?
and where is our dear Pippi, not in Italy already surely?

Brangelina · 23/07/2008 20:57

Yes he is mad.

I issued an ultimatum earlier and have just been told to "choose something" and he'll trust my choice , which means he'll rinfacciarmelo if it's crap. Oh well, in that case I'd just have to dump in alone in a French forest and let him find his own way back. Ah, I'm so evil cackle cackle cackle.

Are you due soon Hot? Wasn't it September?

hotHELL · 23/07/2008 21:53

France sounds wonderful, all that saucisson...
Due in Sept, cannot wait, pregnancy is not my thing...

Rosa · 24/07/2008 14:02

We are staying here until the start of Sept - all round its just better for all of us. I am doing ok I do have low blood pressure so if I don't drink lots or get a bit overheated I tend to go woozy so am far better out of the heat. So Sept you will be startig to get bulky now ... My maternity trousers are starting to go crappy. They are the expandable ones but they did go over bump then mid bump but they fall down !!Nothing in the sales so am going to get big trakky bottoms nobody gives a hoot here !!
Brange just go for what takes your fancy and if he dares complain say it was this or nothing as you were arsing round so much that I had to take what is left... And I would tell him that French bears eat stoppy Italians
We seem to have lost Pippi and Franca at a guess is snowed under with all the washing and ironing !!

Sputnik · 24/07/2008 16:54

I sympathise with you Hot and Rosa, pregnancy is not my thing either. Hot you are on the home straight though

I had forgotten the stony beaches in Croatia, and why is thw water colder there? Could never work that out! Anyway, hope you sort somethiing out Brange.

hotHELL · 24/07/2008 19:27

lol, it is true that nobody cares what you look like here, haha.

gio71 · 24/07/2008 19:50

Have you found anywhere yet Brange. Why do some (mine included) men seem to think they need have no involvement in holiday planning??? It is frustrating though - it takes any pleasure out of looking, booking etc. And I dont get the 13 year old in same room thing.
Just had pie, potatoes and trifle for dinner! Ahh its nice to be back in the UK at my parents for a while.
I am finding flat hunting in Rome the most depressing thing ever. Found one we like before I left for UK, dp went to take all the documentation etc today and the landlord was there with the agent.DP was then subjected to the third degree which started off with -are you married, why not, progressed to how long has the giornale you work for existed and what guarantee do I have it wont go under and ended with, where does your father live and for how long, what does he do and would he act as guarantor?????
FFS
Is it me???? We have been in nero in our current house - is this typical of trying to get a 4+4 contract?? I don't get it. We're a normal couple, educated, good jobs, child blah blah. We have papers, refs, pay slips , contracts (took past advice from this site and made my freelance contract look permanent). So why are we being treated as if we are skanky 18 year old kids!!!!!!!!! It's a 2 bed apartment for 1300 not a bloody palace!!!!Am so peed off.
Sorry to rant, have been offline for days and then come on and just moan but am so

gio71 · 24/07/2008 19:54

ps MarsLady I just want to say that your famous lemon cake is dps (and my) favourite cake. many a lemon from our tree has ended up as a drizzle cake

Brangelina · 24/07/2008 22:24

Gio, what does not being married ahve to do anything? Were you looking for a place in the Vatican? Was the landlord a priest? No? Then wtf????? Come to Milan, I've never been given grief like that to rent a place around here, plus if your DP works in a paper there's always the Corriere here.

Still haven't found a bloody holiday, my eyes are popping out from scouring the internet. I think I'm now going to pick a the tackiest package holiday that presents itself tomorrow. That'll teach him.

Brangelina · 24/07/2008 22:27

Sorry to say I loved being pg, I positively bloomed (mainly because I didn't have to pretend to hold my tummy in, I think). I also had perfect skin and most importantly my leg hair didn't grow back for 9 months! I would do it again tomorrow for that reason only.

Gio, when are you in Varenna?

Sputnik · 25/07/2008 22:53

I was really tired and grumpy both times I was pg, and my last one I ended up on bed rest for most of the last trimester as my cervix was dilating 1-3 cm. Then I got sick and dehydrated and had to be induced. All a bit of a nightmare really, but DS was worth it (wouldn't do it again though, 2 are enough fr me!)

Rosa · 26/07/2008 15:49

I am doing ok really guys - much better than loads of others I just have to make sure I keep fluids ( and snacks up!!!)- I feel really sorry for those who have a hard time ( Sputnik).I just wish I could find some clothes. Bought a dress in Matalan yesterday in a rush as DH and dd had priority ( I wonder why ?). Tried it on and it fits ok over bump but blooming heck my tits are not big enough for it and it is all flappy . Thing is with dd my milk never actually 'came in' so I never got big boobs. So am wary about this one and I cannot be ars*d to take it in . Anyway I am going back with mother and I will try things on. Managed to spend £60 and finally got some bargains!
Took dd to a bird and animal park yesterday with huge indoor play area after 45 mins in soft play + 6 runs on the giant slide dh asked if we could go home he was exhausted !!!

Sputnik · 27/07/2008 09:32

I didn't have it that bad either, all was ok in the end. I am just a miserable old git, and doubly so when pg

MarsLady!

Sputnik · 27/07/2008 09:43

Meant to ask, Rosa or anyone else, do you have any recommendations for places to stay in Ischia?
The place we normally go to here, and it's very nice is booked up ufortunatly

Rosa · 27/07/2008 15:35

Oh that looks lovely what a pity - try looking on trip advisor they have pretty good feedback.
Have just been out in the sun here and come in as its warm here- lovely though and as soon as dd wakes up we are going back to the beach- My beach leggings knee length bought in a warehouse in Austria (4XL !!!) for ?4.20 have started splitting - I must take them back !! I am saying its excess use and nothing to do with the odd pasty I have been having I will get a bollo*king from teh doc when I get back !!

Ciao a tutte! Sorry again, I didn't have any internet connection until today. I'm back to Milan to a flat completely covered in dust (obviously dh didn't dust during the 3 weeks he was left here alone .
I missed you a lot and wondered how you've all been doing.
Hot we were in the isole Eolie, with my parents in law. Dh stayed for the first 10 days, then he came back to milan to work.
The best things I had to eat were arancini and pollo allo spiedo, coniglio in agro dolce, acciughe in salsa di arancia and obviously granita. Ds has a soft spot for granita al caffe' con panna, but I let him have it only twice, as the granita is made with espresso, not the recommended thing for a 6 yrs old.
Rosa and Hot, how's the pg going? Love to you all, f.
where's pippi?

francagoestohollywood · 28/07/2008 10:55

Sputnik, last time I went to Ischia was 1981... so, I'm not very up to date, I'm afraid. But the hotel you usually go to is beautiful, have bookmarked it

Sputnik · 28/07/2008 11:19

It really is nice, the owners a very friendly and the food good. It is usually half empty in sept when we go, so very annoyed.
How about a meet-up in the sauna cave?

francagoestohollywood · 28/07/2008 11:22

Count me in

hotHELL · 28/07/2008 12:26

The hotel does look lovely, and not particularly expensive, have bookmarked it too, which means you will never be able to get a room, poort sputnik.

That food sounds delicious franca, were the eolie very hot, i cannot do hot anymore, i dont'think it is the pregnancy either, i just cannot cope with strong heat anymore at my old age...

Off to raid the fridge after reading about htis lovely food, not sure where pippi is, wanted to organise a mini meet up with her, can she be in italy already?

francagoestohollywood · 28/07/2008 13:05

Had one week of very hot, the rest was hot, with northern winds, so quite pleasant. I'm ok with the heat, and the best thing there is that the sea is really warm, so the children spent most of the time in the water.
Wasn't pippi supposed to go to punta ala at some stage? but I thought that was in sept? boh.

Sputnik · 28/07/2008 13:14

Have always fancied the Eolie but want to wait til DS is a little bigger because it's quite a journey. How long did the train from Milano take, Franca?

The place on Ischia really is good. What's more they didn't charge for DD, despite giving her full-sized meals, and the half board is really full board as they give you panini and fruit if you're going out, or a huge "snack" if you're there for lunch. I am seriously considering changing our dates and going without the inlaws so we can go there, but then again it might be nice to change and try somewhere else.
