gio71 · 02/07/2008 19:57

whats up with the child Pippi? Must be hard.

Rosa · 02/07/2008 20:42

Pippi mind you practice now please !!
Is the child badly behaved or what ? I have a friend who has a ds who is so hyper and disobedient that even dd watches in amazement. Thing is she has had such a tough time and still staying on top of it all that I feel that she just needs friendhip !
Right seeing as the bloomin hospital managed to forget a riga of blood tests I have to go back first thing to do some more. It wasn't my gyne , nor my doc di base so it was the hosp when they transcribed the things. Thats a morning gone ! So am off to bed as need to battle with tutti x il numero di posto poi una sedia then I have to go and get my carta d'identita in montagne they pointed out it expired in March opps !!!
Notte Gio how is ds rash ?
Sputnik exhausted after having dd at home as well ??

Sputnik · 02/07/2008 20:49

That's a bummer Rosa, at our local hospital they give priority for tests to pg women now, I didn't wait at all with DS (though I did with DD).
My DD spent the day in Rome with MIL, so they have their uses

Brangelina · 02/07/2008 21:08

Rosa, don't you have a private clinic that's convenzionata? I used one all through my pg after the nightmare treatment at the hospital and it was bliss. You went there are 8am, waited max 10 mins, the receptionist smiled, the prelievo person was handsome and my results were ready after 2 days.

No elbowing pensioners with overflowing wee samples out of the way, no having to get up at dawn to ensure a seat at 7.30am, no having to restrain yourself from throttling rude embittered accettazione staff when in the throes of morning sickness on an empty stomach.

I'm sure in Venice they're more civilised though.

PippiCalzelunghe · 02/07/2008 21:34

rosa when little everytime my aunt said 'putea' I was shocked as I was sure she was saying a bad word!!

Rosa · 03/07/2008 12:26

The once when I went to the private clinic I had the biggest bruise ever so I gave up on that one. Actually hosp was fast I got there at 7.45 took numero went to find my doc who gave me the ricetta di urgenza went back waited 2 mins and it was my turn . They were talking about priority for pg women but I guess they gave up on that ! However went to commune to get carta d'identia re validated..I was told I needed my effin carta di soggiorno I mean how stupid is that? I already have the thing , my residenza has not changed , I was married here, dd born here but no I need my permesso di soggiorno - Good job that expires in 2011 but I have never ever used it ...until now !! I was not going to even bother to reknew ( sp mental block) it in 2011 but now it seems that I have to FGS..WHat do the rest of you do ????

OP posts:
hotHELL · 03/07/2008 12:29

i have my feet up most of the time, very tiring pregnancy...we are lucky if i put dinner on the table at the end of the day...
putea??? PMSL at this, how funny...

why do you hate this particular child then? i do hate at leat one of friend's children, he is just sooooo rude to his mum, and she just puts up with it, none of my business though, so try to see without kids...

Brangelina · 03/07/2008 12:34

Lol, I had to get a second permesso di soggiorno as I'd let the first expire thinking I didn't need it any more. I discovered I did when my tessera sanitaria ran out, I'd just presumed because I've been paying millions in taxes that I was no longer seen as a dodgy straniera.

Anyways, my new permesso is valid to 2011 too and as soon as that nears expiry I'm to go and get it transformed into a carta di soggiorno that is valid a lifetime (or so I was told). I never bothered (and probably never will) with a carta d'identità, my UK passport is more than sufficient for the purpose. the only thing that bothers them is that there's no address on it but according to EU law there is no obligation to have an address on your ID document.

Brangelina · 03/07/2008 12:37

Hhell, I have problems getting dinner on the table and I'm not even pg. Too bloody hot to think about cooking. I've got a ton of bananas going off because I bought them to make banana cake but who feels like putting the oven on in this heat?

Rosa · 03/07/2008 12:49

Thx for that so carta soggiorno it is then ..in 2011. But this permesso has my old address on and when I called the questura they said don't bother changing it as I have residenza and the vigili came to check !!
I have the carta d' identita as it is easier to carry round in my purse- Also did loads of travelling before dd and I had to have passport re issued via Rome and I needed Id to travel ( in Italy) it was quicker to get the carta than faff round with trying to hang onto old passport etc and it was easier / smaller to have to hand . Silly me just presuming that anything would be easy to just get done here.Venice civilized ma quando mai ?
Slice nanas cover in lemon juice and freeze have as cold treats..But if they have started to go soggy then ermmmm Split skins sprinkle zucchero di canna and cinnamon wrap in tinfoil and bbq- Or eat the lot - give them to your neighbours !
Putea is very common here Piccoetta is often attached to it as well.

OP posts:
Brangelina · 03/07/2008 12:55

Fozen nanas are a good ide. They're a bit at the manky stage but if I frezze them then I can blend them for frozen smoothies later on perhaps. Or even chocolate and banana mousse.

Good idea having an extra document, I just can't be bothered to do any more form filling or queueing up than I have to. When I sent my passport off for renewal I just kept a photocopy of my old one. I usually forget to carry any docs with me then I stay in hotels anyway. Last time I sent DP to leave his patente and snuck into the room later.

Brangelina · 03/07/2008 12:57

My last permesso had an address from 10 years ago and I'd moved 4x since then. The new one has my old address in Milano. It doesn't matter apparently, you're on the comune computer at your last residenza.

PippiCalzelunghe · 03/07/2008 13:57

brange I must share this invaluable piece of info with you as I know you'll understand.

I was here bfing dd2 while reading post while suddenly she has a poo. I felt the force of it in my holding hand... it's now all over her back !!! she's a master pooer!!!

Sputnik · 03/07/2008 14:27

I don't have a permesso di soggiorno. When I first got my identity card I insisted to the guy in the cumune that, according to Maastrict, EU citizens should not be treated differently, he seemed to accept that (couldn't be bothered to call the Questura). Then it ran out when I was pg with DD and I got it renewed (having moved comune) saying "well the old comune didn't ask for it". You probbly couldn't get away with that in a big place though.

Actually it really pisses me off that I pay taxes, inps etc here, yet I can't vote. I keep meaning to get citizenship but can't be doing with the hassle of it. Maybe when DC's are bigger.

Re accents, when I first went to Toscana I thought they were talking in a funny voice as a joke, but then they were doing the same thing in the next shop I went into and I realised it was for real!

Sputnik · 03/07/2008 14:31

Oooh newborn poo explosions, don't you just love them.
I had DS on the train once and he did one. It was so explosive it soaked through to my skirt. I had an interesting 10 minutes or so ( and a fascinated audience) changing him from top to toe, but I didn't have a change of clothes for myself. Actually that was the first and last time DS went on the train.

Brangelina · 03/07/2008 14:45

Ah poo explosions, I remember them well. DD pooed copiously ever time she fed in the first weeks. Seeing as she fed almost constantly that was a lot of poo. The worst one was when we were in a lift going to see a friend. I had her in my arms as the pushchair was too big for the lift and when my friend answered the door my trousers were dripping and DD's popper suit and nappy had practically disintegrated. I had to take her home wrapped in a towel and borrow a tent sized dress for myself.

Brangelina · 03/07/2008 14:48

I'm not going to bother applying for citizenship as, quite apart from the fact I should have it automatically from my mum (but it's too difficult for officials to work out), I want to be able to flee the country should Berlusca go all Mussolini.

The family when I au paired were veneti. I used to get dragged along for the odd weekend in deepest veneto, where no one over the age of 30 actually spoke Italian. Asking directions was highly amusing.
