Ciao , Hello , Welcome .

Mille uno mille due ....Virtual heart massage for Brangelina on bike in this weather.
I know of a place out of season we could use Montepulciano anybody ???
Now seeing as I will have by far the biggest tummy ( after NOv of course) I would like to put myself forward for the research trip- thing is longhaul I only do first class so I guess we will have to get a commune to fund seeing as they have budgets for that kind of thing.
SIL has my nice big throw in bag - she thinks its in her roof but she can't recall so I am having to use a case dh hates rigid cases in the boot as they always clash with the passeggino plus I need to get the potty in somehow .

LOL at rosa's dh 'madonna' washing up !!!

'Pippi has a mate with an empty agriturismo just waiting to be rented out at a reasonable rate.' pippi does have a friend with a derelict farmhouse etc. dh is always thinking about it. my belly is here too but dh has bought a rowing (sp?) machine as he needs to lose 2 stone , gained since we met - no it's not my cooking! so maybe l'll use it too while dd2 sleeps.

talking of idiots. was sitting on an outside table of a cafe in the park. this tall dog comes near us. we start stroking him and the owner starts saying 'no no don;t do it, he'll get your food...' she doesn;t have time to finish and the dog has wolfed down half dd1 sandwich !!

woman kind of apologetic, I said 'not to worry' and off she goes. i had to buy a new one obviously as dog's saliva everywhere. don;t you think she should have offered to buy a new one? not that I'd have accepted it but still. AIBU?

PippiCalzelunghe · 23/06/2008 17:11

ah very at rosa's trip to the mountain. I have been wanting to go for ages.

is it okay for dd1 to dring 4 yakult in one go?????????

PippiCalzelunghe · 23/06/2008 17:13

ah and I am always screaming in italy at driver that try to run us over when crossing on zebra crossing with green man on !

imagine pippi as a fishwife when in italy!

francagoestohollywood · 23/06/2008 17:28

your dh bought a rowing machine ...

I'm always tutting in Italy and I'm known for telling people off, as in the last 10 yrs it's got normal to salire dalle uscite e uscire dalle entrate on public transport which makes me so . My dad even wrote to complain to atm . Sad thing is that even my friends, who proud themselves to be very polite and pc tell me that I'm too English. It makes me cross, because even small things count, imo.

ok lets get the farmhouse. I'm in.

hotHELL · 23/06/2008 19:05

hotHELL · 23/06/2008 19:08

I am back to the uk since this am, and feel great after having lived off pizza for a month. Read thread and see that you are talking holidays and weather, not bad here, in the south it was great, hot with lots of eventful thunderstorms. Missed you all and gald to be back. Rosa glad you are havng a holiday from damp venice, but where is san candido? hellllllloooooo, off to read the rest of mumsnet...

Rosa · 23/06/2008 20:28

Sounds lovely! And fresh...

PippiCalzelunghe · 23/06/2008 21:10

bentornata hh! you've been truly missed. how are you? when are you due again? do you know the sex yet?

Brangelina · 23/06/2008 21:16

Back at last! You've been away ages. Are you OK? Did you do anything ineresting? Do you know the sex yet?

Franca, I'm guilty of getting off the tram at the entrata and on at the uscita. I must be too Italian, or even too milanese (I got asked if I was from Milano when in Toscana because I kept asking the waitress when the food was going to arrive. She probably thought I was a milanese nevrotica).

hotHELL · 23/06/2008 22:12

interesting stuff i did was stuffing my face, hanging out in dodgy streets of naples, eating and sleeping, going to the costiera, eating some more....in fact i have a craving for pizza now....poor me.
due in sept, cannot wait to be honest, i hope we wont' get a heatwave here in the uk, as i am boiling as it is. i am really impressed pippi by how you are dealing with second time round motherhood, are you sure you don't have some sort of nanny there at your house? i guess most of the problems have gone once the baby sleeps through the night, sleeplessness is unbearable, i remember some days feeling like a zombie, and then hearing ds wake up again..

hotHELL · 23/06/2008 22:15

spent lots of time moaning too, how unhelpful italians have become, and rude, and scorbutico, and apatico, oh dear, obviously spent too long in northern europe, kept losing my temper at things most southerners just put up with....and that i used to put up with as well...anyway found the south a lot poorer, people more depressed about the economic situation, very angry and fed up. I feel very sad about it and glad to have got out in time...

francagoestohollywood · 23/06/2008 22:32

HOTHELL!!! welcome back! we were missing you! Glad everything is fine and you had a great time.
Yes Italians are ruder. Though, I have to say I find it quite easy to fare due chiacchere... did I tell you that I'm on cia terms with my panettiere? (proud emoticon)

gio71 · 24/06/2008 07:43

Welcome back hothell! Good to hear you made the most of the pizza . I stopped off in Napoli on the way to Sorrento a few months ago and I was shocked by it! The feeling of poverty you get even from the train is immense. It took only an hour and a half from Rome and I felt like I was entering another world. Really . Its 17 years since I was last there and I thought it had really changed.
Rosa and at your trip to the mountains and lol at nonna and pranzo-have a fantastic time
Count me in with agriturismo - stomach is a joke. felt vile on beach on sunday.
Franca I dont mind so much people getting on and off by wrong doors-what I hate is when you are waiting to get off-with stroller- and you can't because people are pushing to get on at the uscita

PippiCalzelunghe · 24/06/2008 07:50

franca here in suburbia we talk to all shop keepers, mums come and knocks at door unnannounced to ask if they could pick up dd, and neighbour tell you your cat is stuck on the roof and about to be eatyen by crows ! a strange bit of england this.

hh I'm surprised as well tbqh. I did not expect this to be quite so easy. however like I said dd2 has slept every single night and during the day she goes about her own business - she is like a living 'cicciobello'... much much cuter of course . she doesn't even ask to be held. (it's dd1 that wakes up and demands). i wish you the same. I don't know how it is with lack of sleep 'cos I never had it with either but must be tremendous as I am quite tired as it is. if you want to meet smtime let me know. we were in clissold park yesterday

francagoestohollywood · 24/06/2008 13:15

Pippi, really? It's never happened to me, I think I was sending bad vibes. I was in friendly terms only with the owner of a cafe next to our house, who was from Turkey... and some people at the farmers market.
I wasn't very popular at the school gate either .

PippiCalzelunghe · 24/06/2008 18:49

really? I struggle to believe it my dear franca. however I know nothing of the politics of school gates which it's quite a scary thing I've heard. maybe they couldn't relate to you being all wrapped up in winter rather than in 'girigiola' like we say in pg !!

or maybe that's why I like london (some purists would argue this is not really london though).

francagoestohollywood · 24/06/2008 19:37

I'm sure that my wooly hat in May was putting them off .
It is a bit too hot for my liking today, if you don't mind me saying... at rosa up in the mountains......

hotHELL · 24/06/2008 19:54

where you are pippi is london though, or full of london refugees for the good schools...i think exeter must be a hard one to break even for somebody really ultra friendly, i guess your big hat dear franca didn;'t do you any favours either....here we had a lovely warm day, really pleased with the mildness. shall we do coram fields one weekend pippi? i am not around for the next 2 weekends, unusually so, as we always have bugger all to do....ds on school hol from mid-july too, so will be able to do mid-week too. hopefully something fun on telly tonight...

PippiCalzelunghe · 24/06/2008 20:02

this thread wasn't the same without you hh !!!
nothing on tv.

yes anytime you want, w-e or midweek. it'd be lovely. then you can ask me all about having two and can you see for yourself (how much I bribe dd with sweet to give me a break ).

PippiCalzelunghe · 24/06/2008 20:03

dh and dd1 in the garage rowing it!!! !!!

francagoestohollywood · 24/06/2008 20:06

gio71 · 24/06/2008 20:46

PippiCalzelunghe · 24/06/2008 21:17
