Ooh, I'd be up for a Hamlet meet-up, definitely.
we've been having a lovely time here, despite the weather taking a downturn. DSs have been on a swimming crash course every morning at their school's swimming pool so we've been up and out every morning by 10am. Then we've just been chilling in the afternoons, going for picnics or to the river. I took them to the theatre yesterday to see the Milkshake Live show, which they loved.
I'm so enjoying being at home with them atm.
Hopefully our purchase of the new house is going through ok, so fingers crossed we'll be able to exchange before we go on holiday a week on Sunday.

oggsfrog · 31/07/2008 22:15

It's on from 3 Dec '08 - 10 Jan '09.
I think it might be a bit tight that close to Christmas ...

Berrie · 01/08/2008 08:15

I think you'll struggle to get tickets.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 01/08/2008 09:30

But they're not on sale until 12th September. So I shall give it my best shot!

I'm glad you're having a lovely holiday Lyra.

Berrie · 01/08/2008 10:00

My relative who is an associate member struggled to get me our tickets (they get priority) that's why we've ended up with New Years day!
I hope you do though. I wonder where the box office is located...might be worth camping on the doorstep!

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 01/08/2008 13:34

Not what you know, it's who you know...as ever. At least I'll have my poster.

TheQueenIsDead · 02/08/2008 01:14

Hello! I'm trying on this new name in honour of my hero, Johnny Marr, of The smiths fame. Not sure if I'll keep it.
(Lyra, btw)

Berrie · 02/08/2008 10:08

A classic

Berrie · 04/08/2008 08:19

Morning!
How were our weekends?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 04/08/2008 09:19

Not so bad, thanks. I went out for someone's leaving drinks on Friday, and drank far too many cocktails. Not being used to them (I normally stick to wine), I got totally sloshed and had the mother of all hangovers on Saturday. .
Then I went to see a really iffy play to get me some culture. I nearly left at half time but forced myself to sit through to the end - a thriller where you could see all its 'twists & turns' a mile off, with all the actors adopting very very dodgy US accents. I knew I should have gone to see Mama Mia instead.

Did y'all have fun too?

Berrie · 04/08/2008 11:56

Dh spent all day making a broody coop. It's not finished yet. We had a row Saturday evening and on Sunday he went flying while I took the mower and strimmer up to the allotment for my friend to use. Dh came home and went back up to the allotment to fetch all the bits that had come off his mower then he mowed our lawns. Not the best weekend.
Zeb [stern emoticon]you seem to be doing a lot of drinking in your new single life, me, I never touch a drop! How is the aupair working out?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 05/08/2008 09:21

I'm sorry about your row Berrie. Are things better now?

Yes, I'm drinking wayyy to much when I go out, but OTH, I have only been out properly twice resulting in hangovers, so I don't think I need AA just yet. I do accept that Saturday's hangover was blinkin awful though. I'm going to stick to wine in future. (except for my cocktail party, natch!)

And DS has received his first ever 'official' birthday party invitation from one of his favourite blondes. Unfortunately, it's the same day as the Ceebeebies show. What to do, what to do.....

Berrie · 05/08/2008 10:03

Oh things are fine thanks Zeb.

Difficult that one...have you bought the tickets?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 05/08/2008 11:21

Yes, ages ago. And they weren't particularly cheap. I know quite a few other children from nursery are also going to beebies, so I guess I'll give her a call and find out her plan. The show starts at 2pm and the party at 2.30pm, so I'm going to try to find out how long it is.

Berrie · 06/08/2008 07:28

They'll be other parties...loads of them.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 06/08/2008 09:37

At least I only have one kid. So I can get away with only 1 party a year and not spend the next 10 years doing nothing but ferrying around numerous offspring to various parties!

Berrie · 06/08/2008 11:14

I'm dreading that...

Berrie · 06/08/2008 13:09

Hamlet review with little video

oggsfrog · 06/08/2008 21:30

Hello. Just letting you know I'm still alive .

Berrie, I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo . Have you seen how much tickets are going for on ebay?
How is your broody doing?

Zeb, have you asked ds what he would prefer to do? As Berrie said there'll be loads more parties. Will a lot of the invitees be going to the show? Has anyone spoken to the party child's mum - maybe the party could be re-arranged for another day or later/earlier time.

We did Portsmouth today. Great day but very hot and humid.

Berrie · 07/08/2008 07:46

Oggs!
I was hoping that your absense meant that you were having a lovely time!

Our broody is not so good. I boot her out each morning to feed but one of the others picks on her. The broody coop is not finished...

I'm off to Westminster today. I'm going early so that I can go to Tate Britain, don't like the modern. I need a day off the kids at the moment so should be good.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 07/08/2008 09:20

How very highbrow Berrie. And thanks for the link. I've pinched all of yesterday's papers for the reviews, but I haven't got as far as reading them properly though. Sounds good.

TheQueenIsDead · 07/08/2008 13:44

Hello, I'm still around but there'ws slightly less of me after yesterday.
I had a bit of an incident with some microwaved poached eggs which exploded in my face (scalding water and all) and ended up in A&E. it was hideously painful but I'm ok now, apart from losing a lot of skin from my face, which as you can imagine looks jolly nice and is very sore.
I've had to come in to work today and I wish I had a veil. Luckily we're off to Spain on Sunday where nobody knows me

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 07/08/2008 15:55

Poor you. That sounds really awful. Does it hurt much, or is it ok?

Although I guess if you go to Spain,if you take a football shirt with you, you could blend in with all the other Lobsters on the beach. (sorry, that was a VERY tasteless joke)

TheQueenIsDead · 07/08/2008 19:11

Zeb!
No, doesn't hurt much now but it was agony at the time. And I've got to slather my face in Vaseline. Hmm, I've never fancied the shiny look.
DP's taken the boys camping so I've got the house to myself, overnight, for the first time since DS1 was born. it feels very strange. I keep thinking I should be doing something...

oggsfrog · 07/08/2008 20:57

Ouch! Poor you...burns are agony - glad it's not too painful now. It won't scar will it?
Do you have any wine liquid anaesthetic?

My hols are winding down now and I'm beginning to panic about the weight I've put on .

Berrie, did you have a good time today?

Zeb, what are you doing about the party?
