Morning!
How's everyone?
I spent yesterday on a school trip to the seaside with 90 five and six-year-olds. Was exhausting but fun.
How's your new life going Zeb? How's DH taking it now? Any better?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 18/06/2008 11:35

You lot know how to enjoy yourselves!

It's funny, my new life's not so different from my old life. Err, except for the lack of animals, the drive to work, the mess, the builders, the extra time with DS....
DH isn't doing so good though. It's finally sunk in with him that despite us still liking each other, we now have almost nothing in common. I think he's trying to come to terms with it in his head and figuring out if there is any way through it - or even if there's any point, given that farming is his Whole Life and Reason for Being. (well, that and DS). I have also pointed out that having me there as what is effectively a passenger is just not a good idea for either of us long term. I don't know. It's a bit of a roller coaster really. Last week I felt more positive about it, this week I just don't. I'm hanging in there for the moment, but can't wait to get to London to meet up with some very old friends to get their perspective on things.

Oops, sorry for the long one again. And Oggs, it was Kate & Leopold last night. Not great, but it'll do.

LyraSilvertongue · 18/06/2008 12:54

We don't mind the long posts. We like to hear how you're doing.
I'm off to Sainsbury's to buy food for DS2's party. 31 have said they're coming, the venue and entertainers are booked and the other mum has done the party bags so all set. And BBC forecast says it will be warm and sunny

LyraSilvertongue · 18/06/2008 12:56

BBC now saying rain on Sat

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 18/06/2008 13:21

31?! OMG. Do you have catering sized bags of valium and gin to keep you going?
It must also be costing a fortune!

LyraSilvertongue · 18/06/2008 13:32

It'll be about £130 per family as it's a joint party. Not too bad.

oggsfrog · 18/06/2008 14:46

£130! Another reason I'm glad dd goes to such a small school - there are only four other girls at the school .

Remind me again Lyra, what is venue (indoors I presume), what will they be doing, length of party? How old? Descriptions of food, party bags etc please

Zeb. Honestly don't worry about long posts - 'twasn't even that long a post in actuality. We care, and want to know how you're doing .
Kate and Leopold - is that another rom com type drippy one? Surely can't be any worse than AA .

It's bloody freezing here today, my hands are like blocks of ice. Brr.
Mmmm....I imagine it would be nice and warm inside one of his hugs...

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 18/06/2008 16:07

Oggs. You're incorrigible. . Still, a great piccy!

K&L is yes, another drippy romcom with Meg Ryan trying desperately not to look older than Hugh...and generally failing. But again, he's gorgeous.

LyraSilvertongue · 18/06/2008 17:04

I'm sure you don't really want all the details.
Entertainers will take care of most things (magic, balloon modelling, face painting, party games etc). It's in an old bowling pavilion by the river. There'd better be sunshine or else.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 19/06/2008 12:37

Grooooan. I fell of the Atkins wagon and just ate a salad containing rice & beans. I feel very very lumpy. But my tummy yesterday was 3 inches smaller. Yes, yes, I know it's water, but....

ooh, and I have a late pass for tomorrow night. I have a work thing and DH will look after DS all night, leaving me to stagger back to the flat and not go back to the flat until Sat am. Be afraid, be very afraid.

And the au pair arrives in 2 weeks.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 19/06/2008 12:38

I mean go back to the FARM until Saturday morning, having spent Friday night ALONE in my flat. What kind of girl do you take me for?

oggsfrog · 19/06/2008 16:43

. A night of freedom ... I wouldn't know what to do with myself .

C'mon Lyra, spill the beans on the food at the party - I'm dieting and have to get my food experiences vicariously don'tcha know.
Don't tell me its Froot Shoots and Greggs Sausage Rolls

Lost another 3lbs this week .

LyraSilvertongue · 19/06/2008 19:27

You really wanna know?
Ok, we're doing mini pizza fingers, Hula Hoops, cocktail sausages, strawberries, grapes, chocolate fingers, cornflake cakes and fairy cakes, which I will be icing with bright green buttercream icing (DS2's choice) tomorrow morning.
We're having a dinosaurs theme so the invitations I designed myself with a pic of the birthday boys and lots of dinosaurs and we have dinosaur plates, cups etc.
The other mum's doing the party bags so not sure what's in them.
BBC still forecasting rain

LyraSilvertongue · 19/06/2008 19:28

Well done of the 3lb. Looks like you're now in the period of steady weight loss.

HowlsAtTheMoon · 19/06/2008 19:31

Another 5lb and I'll be 2 stone down . Just another one and a half to go to get back to what I was pre-dd.

Party sounds ace. Can I come?

HowlsAtTheMoon · 19/06/2008 19:34

Oh absolute arses!
I'm crap at this being undercover malarkey aren't I

LyraSilvertongue · 19/06/2008 22:34

Of course you can come as long as you think you can blend in with a bunch of 3/4 year olds.
What's with the name? Are you being naughty on another thread?

oggsfrog · 20/06/2008 07:38

No naughtiness - was just feeling very full moonish.
Kids don't mind rain - I'm sure they'll all have a brilliant time . When is ds's birthday? Will he be 4?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 20/06/2008 09:01

Can I come? As long as I'm allowed the hula hoops? I'll blend in with DS.
2 stone Oggs?! I'm very impressed.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 20/06/2008 16:05

Where did everyone go?
I've just spent the day perfecting my application form for my boss's job who's going on maternity leave in August. So fingers crossed. I can do 9 out of 10 things on the requirements list, but unfortunately the 10th is PR. . Still, it's all bullshit, so maybe I'll get away with it.

Right. I'm now looking forward to my night out. I've bought a new stripey cardy (which isn't as boring as it sounds), but it's tipping it down with rain, so I'm not sure what I'm wearing on my bottom - I can't find my decent jeans since I moved. I shall report back on Monday, but I suspect it might be a little rowdier than Lyra's party.

Have a good one y'all.

LyraSilvertongue · 20/06/2008 19:12

You too Zeb. Hope you get the job.

oggsfrog · 20/06/2008 20:55

Have a good time Zeb .
You only recently landed the job you're in now didn't you? You're shooting through the ranks.
Hope you get it. Will your boss be coming back after maternity leave?

Lyra, I hope the weather is good for you tomorrow. You'll deserve a drink at the end of it all. Let us know how it all goes .

Wonder how Berrie is getting on. I hope they're all having a fantastic time in their mansion tent and getting some decent weather.

LyraSilvertongue · 20/06/2008 20:59

Wonder where Binkle's got to...

LyraSilvertongue · 20/06/2008 20:59

Thanks Oggs. Forecasts looking a little more promising today.

oggsfrog · 22/06/2008 10:44

Morning

How did it go Lyra? Did dss have a good time?

Zeb, did you have a good time?
