tinkerbellechelle,
I remember your name. good luck with the applications, keep us posted.

Totally, which of your dd's is on the ua shortlist? I applied for my two too, and they were both put on shortlist as well but haven't heard yet. Although we have been for assesment a couple of years back for one of my ds's but he still didn't get in.
I don't know if we would change agency if we did get in, thought i'd see if they got accepted first then decide, my 2 are with mot at the mo, but have not had anything yet, we joined in March.

Is anyone on here with mot? Am I right in thinking they seem to get more work for older chidren, my 2 are 3 yrs and 2 months.

Onthebeach · 20/05/2008 21:10

forgot to say you may know me as ellismummy.

totallyfloaty35 · 20/05/2008 21:32

Hi ellismummy,my middle dd is on the shortlist, the one currently with KL.I tried u/a as they do lots of tv and are really lovely to deal with, they look after my 19month old dd.MOT are very good and i think frequent photo updates can make a lot of difference to the number of castings.
Saying that over the years my kids have done the round of agencies and if you work alot then they are VERY nice to you,if not some agents can make you feel like your wasting their time if you dare to ask a question and its possible to get lost in the crowd a bit.

marymay · 20/05/2008 21:55

totally.fingers crossed for dd2.
I think you are right they do seem to be getting loads of tv stuff.all of ds casting apart for one this year have been for tv.

brooke77 · 21/05/2008 07:44

has anyone any advice for me please? my ds is now 12 and modelled for 3/4 years until about 9. Was with SW and did pretty well. He'd like to do it again now, so I'm applying but wonder which of the agencies are good for boys of his age? He's good with photographic mainly. Any help with this greatly appreciated ! thanks

tinkerbellchelle · 21/05/2008 09:29

Hiya - had a no from Kids - on the letter where it gives the options as to why they are saying no - they highlighted that we are too far from london.
Also a no from B&B.
oh well

dancerdeb · 21/05/2008 09:55

Totally! Hi, having a bit of a dilemma myself at the moment with KL, as when we joined my ds was 'very popular' and things have just seemed to have dried up this year, 1 casting and one straight job which we couldnt do, my problem is that when I try to comunicate, Im talking to myself, as the first thing I get from them is 'WHO, SORRY???' and then the conversation goes into 'hurried mode' and I then just wish I hadnt called in the first place, at the same time Im reluctant to move and I keep thinking I'll give it a bit longer, I live in hope LOL!!
Tinkerbelle, I remember you, dont give up, your little boy is lovely, he'll get a place in a good agency, watch this space, just read your recent post, never mind, its their loss, what about MOT and KItchkids as Mummyeme said they are up and coming apparently
Brooke, go for the big four and take it from there they are good for photographic, I'd definately look at MOT as some of the older kids carry onto the adult books.
Jazz, I understand your dilemma totally, I'd advise you to give it time and see what happens?

dancerdeb.. thanks and all the best to you and your ds at KL ! have u updated his photos recently?

JAZZ4494 · 21/05/2008 14:42

I have updated my dd photos with KL a few weeks back, so i'm hoping that they might give her a chance to be noticed. (although still no calls).

Any suggestings as to, what could i say to them if i gave them a call, so i didn't sound to much of a pain, if you know what i mean.

tinkerbellchelle · 21/05/2008 16:27

I applied to kitsch kids and they rang this afternoon and said that they would like to see him. They seemed really nice and really friendly on the phone, so think I am going to go and see them and see what happens. Not going till mid-june so a little bit of a wait.

julie4travel · 21/05/2008 16:44

not read up on whats happening yet as havent been home long
had a lovely sainsburys energetic! shoot today , having everything crossed for the pictures to be used!

good luck to anyone with castings this week

mummyeme · 21/05/2008 17:58

Will keep fingers crossed too for you ( you won't need it though) and nice weather too -double bonus!! Well done.

JAZZ4494 · 22/05/2008 12:34

Glad the shoot went well J, can't wait to see the pics. I bet he enjoyed every minute of it.

dancerdeb · 22/05/2008 14:57

Today was at gym, and met a lady selling fitness gear, got chstting about modelling etc, and she said her ds was with 'kitschkids' he's been with them a year or so and to date, has done two shoots for M&S, was doing the second this afternoon, she said that they were a good agency and get their kids out on castings, she also said the owner sam was a nice person to deal with, so was just thinkin if some mums arent having any luck with the 'Big Four' maybe they would be a good agency to try for

TeaDr1nker · 22/05/2008 16:42

Thanks for your advice here. Unfortunately Boss books are currently closed. But am taking LO for a preliminary whatever with Models MCR. So fingers crossed.

julie4travel · 22/05/2008 21:35

hi everyone, tinkerbelle i remember you are you still on msm? any luck with castings from bubblegum? did you try mot? alphabet kids seem to be at a lot of commercial castings we go to. yesterdays shoot had a boy from norrie carr, we nearly went with them the other year so maybe worth a try, there fees i believe are cheaper than some of the other agents.

teadrinkinker - i havent heard of models mcr, did you try absolute in liverpool?

good luck to people waiting to hear on castings etc

tinkerbellchelle · 23/05/2008 06:49

Hi Julie
I dont really use msm that much now.
We have had a few things with bubblegum but not loads. Havent tried MOT as we're going to see Kitsch in June and just thought I would wait and see how that goes.

JAZZ4494 · 23/05/2008 16:00

Someone i know has just got her two dd's into D&B. I don't know much about them, are they a good agency?

christabel · 23/05/2008 18:05

My DD is 9 and been modelling for a year. Do any parents on here work as extras as would like to get into this but any good agencies in the North.

princessesmomma · 24/05/2008 19:23

Ah there you all are. Hello, my daughter is with Juliet Adams modelling agency. She is 3 years old and has been very successful so far, starring in a few commercials and with a film appearance lined up, I believe I have a good many tips to share.

princessesmomma · 24/05/2008 19:29

I am on another thread where people seem quite opposed to modelling, is this very common?

misdee · 24/05/2008 19:31

yes

princessesmomma · 24/05/2008 19:33

And why is that?

misdee · 24/05/2008 19:35

i dunno

dd3 modelled between 12-18months but i pulled her out and never got back into it.

did enjoy it though.
