I noticed in one of our second hand shops this morning that they had a little stroller like i used to have as a child. It is a maclaren buggy, red and white striped with red plastic handles and a steel chasis. It made me remember how me and my sister used to 'pour' ourselves in it and push each other round the garden

needless to say I have forced ds to say he wants it and it is now being pushed round after the dogs...........

what were your favourites?

Blueteddy,
I had Baby Alive ! In fact she is still at my mums complete with original dress and food, and my old Tiny Tears.

Sparkler ,
I had one of those sticks, but can't remember what they were called.

Also had Sindy with horse and Carrie and Christopher (who was anatomically correct). We had a Binatone black and white tv console and a Merlin "handheld" computer game. Used to borrow friends' Atari one.

berolina · 15/12/2004 15:25

Another Girl's World owner - got a brunette one though and I remember being disappointed cos I wanted a blonde one...
Lots of Sindys and two Barbies with loads of gorgeous clothes. I had the Sindy horse and cart too - very plain and sensible compared to that white Barbie horse with a pink side saddle! Anyone remember that?
Ones I haven't seen anyone mention yet: Care Bears (had the one with the rainbow), Victoria Plum (had the doll, a four-poster bed, a little bag), Flower Fairies.
Also had flower-pressing, button-sewing and knitting kits - was into the flower-pressing but certainly not into the knitting and sewing - my brother used to get given electronics and chemistry kits...

joashiningstar · 15/12/2004 15:28

is there anyone out there who remembers a doll called "Tippy Tumbles"?. It did handstands, etc.

Blu · 15/12/2004 15:31

LittleNemo · 15/12/2004 18:25

I'd never come across anyone who'd heard of Pippa and Amanda Jane dolls before now....that really takes me back. I also had 1 of Pippa's friends who was called Mandy.
I always wanted a Paddington Bear but was never allowed.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 15/12/2004 18:44

Pippa dolls. I had merlin too! I remember getting it for Christmas - still works and is at mum and dad' house. Like this. I used to like the Magic Square game.

happymerryberries · 15/12/2004 18:56

I had one of these

best toy

and loved it to bits

whitepixmas · 15/12/2004 21:12

Skull machine? You put plaster of paris in a mould inside a plastic ball, then put it on the 'machine' which kept it rotating in different directions for hours. It coated the inside of the mould and made a hollow model. It had different moulds for skulls etc which you could then paint etc. You were supposed to be able to use it for easter eggs but I just made loads of hideous shrunken heads! I was such a sweet child!

winterwarmmummer · 15/12/2004 21:33

Fisher Price School House - my children play with it now when we go to mothers.

And Sindy not Barbie as my mum said Barbie was a slut.

I always wanted a metal detector though.

Buckeroo was great and Operation - you can still get that

albert · 16/12/2004 11:18

OMG, the memories are flooding back! I had lots of dolls event though I didn't play with them - Amanda Jane, Sindy, Tiny tears (still got her somewhere), Pippa and a walky talky dolll Poppet I think her name was. My favourite things were Etch a Sketch, my Space hopper and my Roto-Skip - does anyone remember that? It was a hoop which you put round your ankle with a disk attached to it on a bit of string and you sort of swung it round and jumped over it

bundleofyulelogs · 16/12/2004 11:20

my mum stood on our etchasketch on christmas day and ended up with a fluffy silvery slipper

Eulalia · 16/12/2004 12:51

Space hopper
Lego
Tiny tears
My sister and I had a black doll and white doll which we called All Bran and Cornflakes!
Slime
Slinky
Emu puppet
Fuzzy felts

Eulalia · 16/12/2004 12:52

Oh yes and Mini Mosiac - doubt if you can still get that, the pieces were tiny would be deemed unsafe these days.

StNickschik · 16/12/2004 13:55

Slinky
Clakkers
Spirograph
Fuzzy felt
Box of paints
Books, books and more books!
Flower press
Mud!
Not hugely into dolls but was given Pippa and Sindy. Had a horse for Sindy and my Dad made it a fab mock-tudor stable . All was going fabulously and they were winning rosettes all over the county - until the horse had a fatal fall and broke it's leg!! - a very nasty fracture!
Lots of crafy things - candle maker, make and paint your own Peter Rabbit models
Desperately wanted a space hopper but never got it? - don't know why!

marialuisa · 16/12/2004 14:27

victoria plum, had a "speak and spell" (said "tie" in a really funny voice), Little Professor, Major Morgan, care bears, Rainbow brite (rereleased in the states so hopefully over here soon) and a vast collecion of flower Fairies.

Always wanted a Mr Frosty but was never allowed one

lapsedrunner · 16/12/2004 21:08

Slinky
Space Hopper
Spirograph
Some sort of enameling kit where you made jewelery in a minature oven and another where you mixed plastics to the same effect, all highly dodgy with todays H&S regulations!
Not at all into dolls, very keen on cowboy & indian outfits complete with guns, bows & arrows.
