ds has asked for murdoch, so he is getting that

dd is non-verbal but ds has asked for percy for her (!). I think she would like a pram and we looked through argos and all she pointed at was dollies and prams so I think she will be happy.

what have yours asked for and what are they actually getting?

He's actually 5 and a half, fruitcake but I'm not worried now because I think he's finally seen that writing and reading are about communicating and is now enthused. Previously he'd found the whole concept totally baffling, despite making painstaking efforts to progress and that was a bit hard to watch. Suddenly we have notes appearing all over the house saying things like "grils are dab" (girls are bad) "top secrit spy hous" "dier mummy you fratd lov J" (dear mummy, you farted love J) so all is clearly well!

Weatherwax · 07/12/2004 11:28

Westcountrylass I've just got my tree from a garden centre and they had play sand... the coloured kind.

When I lived in London I worked in Harrods toy department and it was a nightmare a Christmas with parents spending thousands of pounds on thier kids - unbelievable! Now I live in Italy and DS wants a Dizzy to go with his Bob the Builder gang and I can't find one anywhere. Can you still get them in England? I'm going to ask his grandparents to get it for him if possible. He also wants anything purple, anything with wheels and anything to do with Buzz Lightyear ...so I got him some purple Buzz rollerskates from the Disney Store, that should fit the bill! Plus umpteen other bits and pieces!!

motherinfestivemood · 07/12/2004 12:31

\link{http://www.disneystore-shopping.disney.co.uk/store/Home.aspx\much as I disapprove of Disney, at least this'll save you the Christmas rush, oh RumplyScumOne}

zubb · 07/12/2004 12:36

fruitcake, could you say that FC needs to know what she wants and get her to stick pictures of it (from a catalogue) on a letter. You can keep it 'secret' by getting her to put it in an envelope without you seeing and telling her you'll post it to him later?? not sure that would work, but can't think of anything else at the moment.

PolgaraInAPearTree · 07/12/2004 13:13

Oh Enid - where oh where did your MIL get the Sylvanian Caravan from purleeese tell me!!! I am footsore looking for one of these damn things!!!
I went to two towns in a morning yesterday looking and still didn't get one Sad and Angry

catinthehat · 07/12/2004 13:55

"Motorbike
Helicopter
Double Decker bus
Pleeeeeese. Yesss Pleeeese" [DD 2.3]
So no.
And before you say it, she didn't mean toy ones.

EniDeepMidwinter · 07/12/2004 14:06

polgara, she got one from The Entertainer - its a chain so there might be one near you...I have to say I don't hold out much hope as she bought the last one after trying Argos and everywhere else. Argos said that there were none left in the south of England, good luck Sad

sunchowder · 07/12/2004 14:11

My DD (Age 10) is getting a pink guitar (with lessons) and a pair of zebra painted stilts that she has been wanting from the toy shop all year! My DH (14) is getting an electric guitar with the amp and a dragon kimono. Lots of choccies and small games for the stockings too!

littledonkeyrach · 07/12/2004 14:13

DD1 wants Poorly Poppy, Bratz, Geomag and most of the adverts. But from FC she wants envelopes, sellotape, stamps and notebooks! She is 3.8.
She is getting the stationary, and the doll from my mum. She may get Geomag. She also will have puzzles and books.

My dad called at the weekrnd to see what they both want - last minute as usual!! DD1 decided a new torch for DD2, 4 months!

anorak · 07/12/2004 14:39

DS (aged 4) dictated a list including:

police cars
cars for a boy aged 4
garage to keep cars in
a new drinking bottle
a toy daddy
mobile phone
keys

I'm doing my best but haven't yet found a shop that sells toy daddies Grin

Doddle · 07/12/2004 15:18

both ds's have asked father christmas for plastic plants that stick to the side of the bath!!!! dp has scoured aquarium shops and has finally found some suitable.

ds1 also wrote that he'd like a great big cuddly pussie!

ds2 asked for a capercaillie, and by amazing luck i found a cuddly one in the RSPB catalogue.

they are getting just about everything they have asked for because nothing they have asked for is too OTT.

PolgaraInAPearTree · 07/12/2004 20:39

Thank Enid will give them a ring tomorrow.

TinselTamum · 07/12/2004 20:48

Polgara have you seen the other thread where you asked about this? I'll try and find it and bump it.

My DD has only asked for a Garfield, she decided she wanted this only on Sunday, and waited until we were in with Santa to say she wanted it, Santa told her 'of course he'll bring her a Garfield toy'!! this is after I've already bought her christmas presents, so now I have to go out and find a Garfield!!

So yes, mine is getting what she asked for! lol

EniDeepMidwinter · 07/12/2004 21:28

DS2 (3 1/2) is getting a Tomy remote control racing car which had 10 pounds off earlier at Argos, thankfully that is what he has actually asked for, also an ELC microphone with stand which he will love, plus some little bits. DS1 (6 1/2) only asked for a Tamagotchi and after much trauma (as I didn't realise they are now a must-have toy this year and in short supply) I finally managed to get one. Other than that, he didn't ask for anything but I know he would enjoy Lego, Knex or spy stuff so will get some of that this weekend. Between them, they are also getting a game from Woolies (the third free part of the 3-for-2 offer) and a Shrek2 DVD.

PaRumPumPumScum · 09/12/2004 17:02

Thanks MI:)

MarsselectionboxLady · 09/12/2004 17:09

Woolies are also doing their spend over £5 and get a video for £2.99 or dvd for £5.99. I got Peter Pan (the real people version) and Sinbad (animated). Fab pressies that cost a fraction of their actual price.
