are your kids getting what they asked for, for christmas?

ds has asked for murdoch, so he is getting that

dd is non-verbal but ds has asked for percy for her (!). I think she would like a pram and we looked through argos and all she pointed at was dollies and prams so I think she will be happy.

what have yours asked for and what are they actually getting?

dd has asked for a DORA so we've brought her a Dora the explorer doll and a back pack to go with it.

Also brought half of ELC - but we save all year round for xmas - so she pretty much gets what she wants

DS is getting the lego pirate ship that he has been slightly brainwashed (by us so its OK) into wanting. He also wants a toy Astra Van. Unfortunately Santa is a bit unsure about how to get get hold of one.

Its strange how these brothers seem to know what their sisters would like isn't it SF2? DS is certain that DD (7mo at Christmas) would like a fire engine. Since we have a Vtech Wobbly Wheels one in the loft that DS had for his first Christmas it looks like she might be getting one.

DD is desperate for a "Princess Baby Alexa" and grandpa has provided....

Despite my best efforts she's still going to be overwhelmed on Xmas day so I'm going to hold back a few things for her b'day at the end of Feb.

My DD (nearly 6) has asked for pens and paper - I think we'll manage that!!!!!! Bless her heart. I have to prise the pen out of her hand at bedtime, she is forever writing.

DS (aged 3) wants everything he sees in the adverts without knowing what anything is. This also can be accommodated as I know what everything is, what he actually wants and it is not what he sees on telly!

Weirdly my dd (13) never asks for anything for xmas because she likes getting a surprise!

I know the feeling KBear. Dd was asked by a friend's mother what she was getting for Christmas and she said "well, maybe a book?" She's actually getting rather more than that I have to admit

Ds has been leaving Lego magazines around with big ticks next to things, so he's getting the Knight's Kingdom castle as his main present.

Is my DS (will be 4 in Feb) particularly naive in not grasping the concept of adverts? Just doesn't get it at all.

In ds's case it would be a nana (banana) and 'row row' (not sure how/where you get one of those) and Beuys (the dog...don't think I have enough wrapping paper ) ...he is only 18 months...

My 3 are now teenagers - but still like surprises, however saying that, one has asked for a bike, one a phone and one new clothes, so I guess they will be getting what they wish for this year.

DS, 3, wants 'a little dragon that I can take to bed and cuddle', and a remote controlled aeroplane. Plane, no, dragon, we're working on. he is also getting the ELC pirate Island to go with his much loved ship, and some other bits and bobs, too - haven't started on all that yet!

My dd asked me the other day "Mummy why does Father Christmas bring you things you don't want?"
He gave her a dolls house last year that apparently she did not want - but has decided she quite likes it now!! What do you say to that.... Also she wants a pink jeep from Toys r Us that costs £179.99 so told her Father Christmas could not afford it, to which she replied but "he makes them".

Christmasbooza - no, your ds is not alone, my dd is 3 and a half and she doesn't understand what adverts are for either. She hasn't asked for anything at all ... although she'll get plenty.

My ds, on the other hand, starts making his next Christmas list on boxing day.

He wants a PS2 with some game or other and he won't be getting it unless his dad gets it for him!

I am getting them a walnut each and a piece of brown paper.

Mine always ask for lots of things and if it is something too expensive then i tell them that they can't have it and they are usually fine with that.

This year Dd1 is having a Barbie styling head, a large Care Bear and a Bratz game.
Dd2 is having a doll, a pushchair and a disney princess game.
Ds is having a trike, and some of the Happyland stuff from ELC.

I have cut back this year as their birthdays are right before xmas and it just gets too much.
Next year I AM gonna open a savings account so i can put a bit up each week and not be so stressed.

I also dish alot of their wish lists out to family. Ds is having a 50 quid Happyland set for xmas from both of my brothers and my dad. I couldn't afford to buy it for him, so i think it's a good way of them getting what they want and me making sure the relatives don't buy something, irritating or something that won't get used.

dd wants that hideous Barbie cat - white fluffy monstrosity that 'sings' and moves in a creepy way so she will not get that! She will get the cradle and dolls wardrobe she also asked for though. I told her that she should not ask father christmas for specific toys as he is so clever he will bring her things she likes anyway

Ds (3) nasked for Bertie and Duck - so he has got those and he is really into fire engines so i got a big one from Wollies for £15.00. I've made sure all the rellies have been given ideas of things i know he'll like so no rubbish!!

ds wantes a pirate ship so he is getting the playmobile one.

dd wanted a gameboy and once I made sure that she realised that Santa would only be able to get her one big thing (as well as stocking stuff) I got one for her.

DD (2.5yo) keeps saying she wants "the winnie the pooh game" from father Christmas when asked and "a friend for Baby Annabel". We have got her the VTech VSmile (with Pooh Bear game) and my brother is getting her a Baby Born.

TBH we did ask for suggestions from DD when putting together some ideas for family - with the aid of some window shopping and the ELC catalogue. Luckily she remains fairly constant in her choices.

dd1 has made a huge list, but she really wants a Giggling Chou Chou doll from her sister and not santa. she asked santa for a flannel!! think we can manage those two items. plus she getting loads more besides. dont ask me as i can remember much of it.

dd2 is too young to ask so dd1 has dictated her list for her lol.
