i have been looking at the cebeebies too, its coming to norwich, near us. theybhave thomas the tank engine to, but that was way too expensive for my liking. they do a lazytown show also, but tha was ridiculus too, it would have cost us nearly £90 for the four of us, and we would have gone to cambridge which is about and hour and a half away.

instead were havinbg a lazytown marathon , he is now on his 3rd episode.......

I think my hip pain is symphis pubis, off to start a health thread to find how to cope...spent whole day limping in agony. need to google some answers..

JennsterSlugSlayer · 28/05/2008 20:47

wow you are nice mummies. I must be horrible. I wouldn't even dream of going to something like that. My interest was piqued, but the nearest is Liverpool which is a bit of trek with ds.

JennsterSlugSlayer · 28/05/2008 20:50

Oh Voodoo you have my sympathy with the SP. I had sciatica which I don't think is anywhere as painful or disabling (although pretty bloody horrid) as SP. Some one in my antenatal class with dd had it. She was scared of needles too. She said she was such a wuss with pain, but had to put up with it because she had this real phobia of needles. She ended up learning some hypno birthing techniques.

worley · 29/05/2008 22:40

oooh, i still get sciatica now, its horrible, the only thing i can do is lay down on the floor and stretch my legs out, i always get it in the right hip.

im suppossed to be going to london tomorrow to the dr who exhinitiuon at earls court, but i left it to late to book tickets, meant to do it the other day and forgot.
some others on the thread i started a few days ago could only get certain times, so fingers crossed we can get in, ....
there will be tears is we dont!!!

spoke to a lovely community MW today who telephone-diagnosed me as having sciatica rather than SP, so 3/4 of us has had it/still suffers! wonder if macdog's had it too?

it is awful, takes ages to get up off the toilet, for gawd sake!!hurts to drive now too. Oh well at least only two shifts left.. one full day and one 5 hours. am dreading the full day (sunday) but generally the constant movement is ok, it is sitting still for a long time that is dreadful. our security doors are very heavy at work, and I tend to shove them open with a hip/ one arm, adding to pain on one side.
My right hip is by far the worst.

It helps to know you lot understand it!! I dont think anyone else really takes 'hip' pain seriously,,

worley · 30/05/2008 23:33

voodoo, did you get it with dd1? i was told that once you get it, it stays, not sure if its true for every one, but it does sometimes catch even now, sometimes not for months and then i will get a spate of it.
i have been known to lay down on the floor at work and try to release it, much to the amusment of the 22yr olds, who have no children, who didnt know what the hell im doing!!

went to london today to earls court to see the dr who exhibition. was brilliant, ds1 loved it.
had a shock when we had to buy train tickets and the first price they said was £97 return!!!! the conductor got it down to £77 as a special rates ticket thing, but bloody hell, it would have cbeen cheaper to drive, pay to park at earls court and get home again!!

all because i meant to book earlier on in the week and forgot, then we went to swimming pool yesterday 60 miles away (as it has big slides and a wave machine and water fountains etc, so didnt book yesterday either,
god, i will make extra effort next time to book a ticket in advance!!

SCIATICA. Bloody hell. Google exercises. Mine started again just as dd was getting too heavy to carry on the hip while pregnant with ds. I got exercises to do with the physio and they were great and then I got a bump up front and they were impossible. If you can afford to see a physio privately a couple of times, then I would recommend it.

worley · 01/06/2008 00:09

When we met dh, we went to the Transport museum for lunch. dd's face was a picture when she spotted the Balamory bus!
They also have Spencer's trike and PC Plum's bike, as well as the trains, cars, trams etc.
I'll bung some pics on FB to bore you all with

JennsterSlugSlayer · 01/06/2008 23:26

I was still working in the garden 90 minutes ago.

worley · 02/06/2008 08:28

night duty tonight...
but my asthma is really playing me up and my inhalers arent working, am going to try to getting dr's this morning to see if he can give me some steroids to help. i dont have a cold or anything so dont know why im so weazy. i cant even go upstairs without having a coughing episode

OP posts:
JennsterSlugSlayer · 02/06/2008 11:25

pollen? Weather? Really muggy here so all pollen stays lower in air. Do you take a steroid inhaer? Which one?

worley · 03/06/2008 21:50

i use ventolin and becotide,
i got given some pred and erythromycin today. ds2 started having another nosebleed while in the waiting room! so i managed to get another nose cream prescription. he had been trying to touch the arrival screen in the waitng room, and then was trying to throw the books about, so i had to sit him firmly on my lap while he threw himself backwards trying to headbutt me, and crying, and then one of the women in the room got up and walked uptowards me, and i thought she was going to moan at me, instead she said "he's having a nosebleed"!! blooming children. typically i had a different bag with my and was unprepared so had to run to the toilets to grab a handfull of tissues.
at the least the nurse practioner could see im not making it up about the amount his nose bleeds! we both covered in it

Just remembered a sciatica joke, made me laugh:

Jimmy's limping along the road when he's stopped by his friend.
"What's up with you?" his friend enquired.
"Sciatica" replied Jimmy.
"Sciatica?" said his friend.
"Aye" said Jimmy. "Sciatica size 10 shoe and these are only a size 9"

I thank you
