is this okay?

on my drive hom from work, ds2 started saying mummy mummy nose, mummy nnose, so i had a quick turn to see hwta he wanted, only to see his face COVERED with blood, he had picked his nose and smeared it every where, as i was on the dual carrigeway i had to keep giong for a few miles, until i could stop, conveniently at a big tescos where i had to run him in the toilets and clean him down. i got lots of strange looks and 2 old ladies came and asked me if i was allright with him!! not sure if they thought i couldnt cope or because of the amount of blood and the trail we left into the toilets!!

jenn, will a gp give me a repeat prescription if i have lost his nose cream they gave me, to keep putting on his nose as he gets so many nose bleeds? or am i just being cheeky? do other people lose their medication??

Hope he's ok Worley. Nosebleeds are nasty.

Laughing at thought of your dd sound under the bed, Jenn

Organising Ladies night for Toddlers now. Sort of an end-of-term party for mums. Disco/buffet and hopefully a raffle/sit down bingo etc.
Disco & bar booked, just need to sell tickets and organise buffet now.
Toddlers are going to be doing a sponsored walk in June, luckily not so much to organise with that

JennsterSlugSlayer · 19/05/2008 21:30

Worley it depend entirely on your surgery and your GPs. Loads of people loose medications. It's worth asking.

Ds stood today from sitting on my friend's lap on the floor. He wasn't even holding on to anything, he just stood up.

Macdog · 20/05/2008 09:32

Go Jennbub!!!!!

worley · 20/05/2008 14:56

i want to join your mums and toddlers macdog, sounds like good fun!!
an
ds2 had another nosebleed this morning, all on my white uniform , so had to change into scrubs when i got into work. ds2 had his photos done at nursery this morning and when i picked him up i noticed he still had a bit of dried blood on his nose, so dread to think what the pictures will look like, we're going back later so ds1 and ds2 can have thier picture done together.

Macdog · 20/05/2008 19:18

Macdog · 22/05/2008 19:23

Meant to tell you, dd wandered into kitchen yesterday while I was washing dishes and announced:
"Hair washed....yes" with a big smile

Then I noticed that she had indeed washed her hair..with a hefty dollop of shampoo

Took me AGES to get it rinsed out. had to cut her ponytail bands out too.
She was so chuffed with herself though, I couldn't be angry

worley · 23/05/2008 20:59

lol at macpup!!
reminds me of when ds1 was little and i turned round to see he had smeared his hair with sudacrem!! that took ages to get out too.

JennsterSlugSlayer · 23/05/2008 23:00

Erm just you worley Bummer of a day though. I'm thinking of increasing my hours to 4 days a week. That will only be 34 hours though, but considering moving the dc to a different nursery where it costs £10 extra per day between the two of them. Don't think we can justify nearly £1200 in a year, and that is just the three days I work now.

worley · 25/05/2008 09:26

its all fixed now, dont know why the fonts changed on me,

jenn you could get a holiday for that extra money!!
how much do you pay a day for one? i pay £18.75 for 1 morning session or £34.50 for a whole day. i was better off when i did all my hours in just 3 days instead of 5 mornings,as now i also have to fork out for 2 extra travels to work as well which is about 12 miles away, it all adds up..

OP posts:
worley · 25/05/2008 09:36

are you not happy with your current nursery, also how far away is ds from being 3 now, do you get the early years grant round your way?
when ds2 turns 3 he is entitled so many free hours nursery / playschool a week which the government pays for. it goes by which area we live in here though, due to the sure start scheme, the "deprived" end of town get it at 2and a half years whilst we live only a bout 2 miles away we have to wait another 6 months.

i cant wait till ds2 gets that, it should ct my nursery bills down majorly.

i also pay £1.90 a day for ds1 to go to breakfast club at school, i drop him off at 7.50am, he gets cereal, toast and milkshake , and as they are teaching assistants that rub it , they also help them with their homework, or they can just play / read. ds1 starts middle school in sept and they dont run a breakfast club so dont know how im going to get him to school and me get to work at 8.30? unless i let him walk alone or with friends, but im really nervous about that. but when i think i did walk to school byself at that age maybe he can. its not far and would only need to cross the road twice and there is a lollipop lady. the traffic isnt that bad as a lot of them come in on coach from the next village. just dont like tothink im having to kick him out to school early as i have to get to work...

when I hear about the hassles of nurseries, I'm glad I'm a SAHM.

We are now the proud owners of THREE pairs of baseball boots!!
One pair (pale blue) from Next, 1 pair pink and 1 pair navy (Dunnes, thanks Jenn!)
All various sizes so we'll have them to grow into!!

am shattered after walking round Glasgow. Seems further when I don't have the buggy there to push/lean on!!

JennsterSlugSlayer · 25/05/2008 20:23

Current nursery dd (will be 3 in Jan) is £28, and ds (1 in July) is I think £32 all day. Breakfast if free, but we get a 10% discount on dd's fees because she has a sibling.

The other nursery is £38.50 for DS and £33.50 for dd. It's Montessori, and it's smaller, but in the grounds of a lovely house. here Thing is there is no parking, so getting 2 young children out of the car on a busy road will be very difficult and....3?... impossible! But is much much nearer to home.

There is another nursery set in a park which I think we will look round again. Dh could walk there in 5 mins from his work, and is on a parr wrt to fees. There hasn't been an Ofsted report yet though.

Macdog · 26/05/2008 20:08

Hurrah for Springwatch!

Love the Cairngorms!!

JennsterSlugSlayer · 26/05/2008 22:28

Wow. Been at Tatton Park all day. Was fab, and realised, it was the same week last year we went sans dd. So last year I was EXACTLY as pregnant as you are now Voodoo, and I was whomping around the mere on a mountain bike. Off roading of course.

VoodooCoconut · 27/05/2008 15:20

thanks for the birthday singsong, Jenn..loved the fat monkey bit especially...

couldnt get near the pooter as we had my parents staying all week, they've moved on to my sister's now so chance for a breather.

32 weeks tomorrow yay! can't wait to just get on with everything, want to pack my hosp bag but cant as we are going away with the inlaws in a few weeks to centreparcs Nottingham, so can only pack it after that, really. Bought my birthing shirt from Tesco today, tho, just a really big man's cotton shirt for £4 bargain.

Thank goodness I finish work soon, I have 3 shifts left and my last day is next Weds. It is really tiring me out now, and for some reason every shift I am on seems to be really short staffed so there is no moment to pause and stop! My area manager wants to do an exit interview with me, and I have a development meeting with my manager too, have to be careful what I am going to say as a lot of shit is going down and I dont want to end up caught in it...
my mum keeps laughing at me saying I love the intrigue, but really I just want time at home with doodle 1 in these last 8/9/10 weeks we have before number two arrives and changes everything.

Macdog · 28/05/2008 11:12
