What DillyDally, you're an ACMA?

joash · 24/11/2004 16:06

Used to buy tha american Ms magazine every time ot cema out - but can't find it anywhere now.

Just realised how sad this is as I type it but - Currently subscribe to "Cornwall Today" and another cornwall one that I can't remember the name of (old age and all that).

DillyDally · 24/11/2004 16:08

Yes I am ACMA and get all the lovely accountancy age type things which I enjoy perusing over a bedtime cocoa. I wouldnt want to miss out on an interesting accrual article.

joash · 24/11/2004 16:10

ot cema out shoudl read "it came out" - need spell check on this thing.

hoxtonchick · 24/11/2004 16:10

i read heat at the gym, & we get private eye. i read the bmj online for work, & the health service journal. am too mean though to buy magazines regularly, would much rather buy books.

joash · 24/11/2004 16:10

done it again - shoudl ...should

xoz · 24/11/2004 16:11

Daddy cool I'm a member of the Australian Society of CPA's. They just "revamped" our mag and it's just as boring as before!!!!! I've never read anything about Accountancy that has been slightly interesting to me (Why oh why did I become one!!!)

Northerner · 24/11/2004 16:11

Well if we all going to mention professional subscriptions I have to add The Hotel & Caterer and Meetings and Incentive Travel.
Otherwise you'll all think I'm some bimbo obsessed with the celeberity culture

DillyDally · 24/11/2004 16:11

Are you claiming no interest in Sarbanes Oxley xox? Shame on you.

xoz · 24/11/2004 16:14

dillydally - if there was an emoticon with a VERY blank expression on its face that would about sum up my response to that!!!

DaddyCool · 24/11/2004 16:14

Some months the plastic cover doesn't even come off mine DillyDally & xoz. I'm a member of the CIMA discussion forum as well but let's just say it's not quite as interesting as this one!

Don't dare mention sardines-oxtail to me DillyDally, that's my life it seems right now.

DillyDally · 24/11/2004 16:18

Can you recycle them with the plastic cover on? Apologies Xoz for wrong name spell before. Daddycool a wannabe hitman and an accountant?

DaddyCool · 24/11/2004 16:24

I'd much rather be a hitman right now. Have we nerds stolen this thread or what!

(grey suit on, talks slow)

tamum · 24/11/2004 16:26

This is beginning to sound like that round in Have I Got News For You when they have a guest publication

DaddyCool · 24/11/2004 16:28

absolutely tamum. I always expect it to come up.

DillyDally · 24/11/2004 16:28

I AM NOT A NERD

Apologies, i also read Glamour

LIZS · 24/11/2004 16:30

daddycool, dh gets Financial Management which rarely makes it out of the plastic.

xoz · 24/11/2004 16:30

I have to say that I am a recovering accountant - stopped in 1997. Now a full time mum, will go back to primary teaching one day but NEVER to accounting. Every year I ask myself "Why do I still pay them the fees?" but I spent so much time and evffert doing the Stupid exams I don't want to not have the right to put CPA at the end of my name if I want to. How sad is that!!!!!
Sorry everyone else.... you should all reclaim this thread and banish us to the ends of the earth again where we sad, suit-wearing, calculator-toting nerds belong...

xoz · 24/11/2004 16:31

I'm not a nerd either by the way

DaddyCool · 24/11/2004 16:40

Well hell, then I'm not a nerd either!
