i have a subscription of 'red' coming to my house for the person who lived here before us. Also got a letter saying thank you for cancelling your subscription, it will be stopped in 2005!!

lydialemon · 23/11/2004 20:59

Me and DH subscribe to PC Gamer and SFX because, frankly, we are sad sad people with no life

Currently considering subscribing to Total Film as well, as we buy every issue of that and it would save us money.

serenequeen · 23/11/2004 22:15

eve
grand designs
junior p&b
time out

NomDePlume · 23/11/2004 22:20

Top Gear - Both DH and I like it

BBC Good Food - DH

Heat / Closer / Star etc - Mine, for the low-brow celebrity gossip element. DH always takes the pss out of me for buying them, but he always* has a sneaky read

lavender2 · 23/11/2004 22:38

I read those celeb mags at work Nomedeplume...great imho

Granta

That sounds horribly highbrow until you realise it was a freebie (I got 6 months or a year free with something else). But then I am seriously considering keeping up the subscription when it runs out as it's a damn good read...

cardigan · 23/11/2004 22:42

goodhousekeeping, eve, red, women& home, junior, house & garden, marieclaire, prima....not much time to read books but have time to read a whole article. Also use them for college & craft.

turquoise · 23/11/2004 23:24

I'm a magazine slut and waste far too much money on anything that grabs my attention. Regularly buy : Red, She , In Style, Glamour, Heat. Occasionally buy THe Week, Private Eye, Empire.
Go through phases of buying decorating/DIY type magazines and Country Living etc, and the occasional Rolling Stone.

suedonim · 24/11/2004 10:09

Country Living and New Stitches. I'm a sucker for Xmas magazines and am currently trying to restrain myself, esp as I still haven't read Delia's Xmas mag from last year!!

MilkyWay · 24/11/2004 10:16

Buy Eve every month (hooked since reading Aloha's article on Thomcat and Lottie).

Also BBC Parenting as it's the most balanced parenting mag I've seen.

Good Housekeeping is passed to me every monthe from the MIL.

Sometimes buy Red and New Woman but usually only if there's a good freebie with them.

leahttc2 · 24/11/2004 10:17

empire....buy various mags when i feel like an easy read...pick me up etc...I am also thinking about that new parenting mag..'the green parent' off to find a copy today!

Northerner · 24/11/2004 10:20

I buy Eve every month (blame thomcat for that!)
I alos buy OK, Closer, Now for the celeb goss!

Nikkichik · 24/11/2004 10:36

When I was off work for 3 weeks after my hernia op I wasn't allowed to do much (it was great!!) I became addicted to crap celebrity mags (OK in particular. Dh has now banned me from buying them - dd found my last one where I had hidden it under the bed!!!! - wot's this mummy? - damn caught out!! He says it addles my already grasshopper brain and that I might start aspiring - to what - bad hair, bad clothes and bad relationships -I don't think so). However, I have a yearning to know how Peter and Jordan and Brian and Kerry are doing? Just thought, I'm going for a hair cut on Friday - I can catch up then! - hurrah!!! I'm so sad!!

Frenchgirl · 24/11/2004 10:49

buy red every month and the waitrose food mag, and subscribe to french Elle (it's weekly), which is very different to the UK edition, much much funnier, and also looks at more interesting issues. Love it.

breeze · 24/11/2004 12:59

Don't have much time to read mags, but when I do usually company, although my friend usually gives me heat.

motherinferior · 24/11/2004 13:10

Any that will pay me to write for them. Given the right financial encouragement I could develop a lasting passion for the Fish Fryers' Gazette.

bundle · 24/11/2004 13:14

avidly flicking thru Gut and the Lancet this week, but I only buy trash eg heat, unless someone classy like motherinferior is writing an article in say Junior P&B. have been known to buy Eve and She but never really found the ideal iykwim.

spacemonkey · 24/11/2004 13:17

I can't bear any of the women's mags at all, they're all rubbish.

GeorginaA · 24/11/2004 13:18

I blame this thread, while I was in Tesco this morning I picked up a BBC History mag Wouldn't even have looked on the rack for it otherwise...
