we got to 1000 again....made me reminisce about our original thread all those months ago

These are the bears just need to pick flowers to go with them!

OP posts:
fryalot · 10/01/2008 19:54

well done, well done, well done!!!!!

yes, they are cute indeed.

I would suggest the "happy day" bouquet - the others all seem to be either blue, pink or boring. But am happy to go with what you think

fryalot · 10/01/2008 19:56

or... some options here courtesy of the twins thread - just went to say we had it sorted and this was waiting!

fryalot · 10/01/2008 19:59

more stuff here

sorry, am confusing everything now

Dropdeadfred · 10/01/2008 20:01

Thats a fantastic idea isn't Squonk...

Just thought that the teds could be for the babes and the flowers for our brave and wonderful Egg...?

But I'm happy whatever we send.

Just realised she will come back and read this and see all suggestions & prices...

Oh I love the casting sets....I know Egg likes champers too though...oh it's hard isn't it?

OP posts:
fryalot · 10/01/2008 20:07

the casting sets are quite difficult to do iirc, and she might not want to be bothered with the faff, but champagne seems like a plan.

(and you're right she will see this. Should we start a secret "hidden from egg" thread?)

But, then again, if we get it ordered tonight or tomorrow, she will already have received it by the time she sees the thread and it's not as if we're saying that she's not worth spending a fiver on...

(although if she makes any more cracks about me being 57, perhaps I'll only go as high as £2.50 )

Dropdeadfred · 10/01/2008 20:11

Most hospitals won't accept flowers now will they?

OP posts:
fryalot · 10/01/2008 20:18

didn't think of that either. You're probably right.

How about the champagne and teddies then? Seems like a good prezzie to me

Dropdeadfred · 10/01/2008 20:25

Yeah and me....

Although we could probably get her a real bottle for that...guess she could alays stash those little ones in her dressing gown pocket fridge for if things get frazzled when MIL visits!

OP posts:
fryalot · 10/01/2008 20:31

The teddies and champers get my vote. Even though we could probably get her a whole bottle. It's not the same though, is it?

Dropdeadfred · 10/01/2008 20:34

yum!

OP posts:
fryalot · 10/01/2008 20:35

it sent me to interflora's home page

Dropdeadfred · 10/01/2008 20:57

God I am so shit at links today. Never mind I think an executive decision has been made and the teds and champers have it!!

Now I just need ward details etc for delivery

OP posts:
fryalot · 10/01/2008 20:59

She has not replied to my text asking where she was, but she did say she was getting low on power.

If I don't hear from her by tomorrow, I shall try and ring the hospital to ask them, they usually tell you stuff like that.

Now I have to go because I promised faithfully to be back with the kids by 9.

Dropdeadfred · 10/01/2008 21:10

kids??? kids??? what time do they go to bed?

OP posts:
marmitemad · 10/01/2008 21:52

sorry to have missed all the discussion, but am very with the teddy and champers idea. I suddenly thought on my way out earlier that maybe we should have done this on another thread or on email but never mind at least Egg will get the present before reading about it (we hope). Shame she can't have flowers as I love flowers and didn't get any in hospital when I had dd (even though they were allowed), I loved that Happy days bouquet.

I think you both have my home email to let me know how much I owe?

RC class was quite good fun (the exercise is just like having a boogie at a disco) but I was disappointed to find out I weighed exactly the same as at my last class in October which is still 1.5 stones more than pre-pregnancy , I was feeling quite good so hoped I ahd lost a bit more but hey-ho.

Dropdeadfred · 10/01/2008 22:14

Marmite..perhaps we can ask for any gift discussing posts to be deleted?

I did really like that bouquet too. I could always ring the hospital tomorrow and check if they allow flowers?

OP posts:
fryalot · 11/01/2008 08:23

morning.

If I'm ringing the hospital to see where she is, shall I ask about flowers while I'm on?

And to answer your question, fred, as I was rushing off last night - ds was already in bed, but dd2 was waiting up for me to finish my book group chat with dd1 which is why I had to go at dead on 9 because any later would have been really too late.

Her bedtime is normally about 8.30 ish, but I was chatting on here at that time. (MN are very good, you know, they get the author of the book to come along and talk to us - you don't get that with your average provincial library book club )

fryalot · 11/01/2008 09:18

Okay, have been busy:

She is in:

THE JEFFREY HAMMOND WARD
Royal Hampshire County Hospital
Romsey Road
Winchester
Hampshire
SO22 5DG

They do allow flowers to be delivered and mum and babies are doing fine this morning.

(I asked them not to let her know we called so it can be a surprise when she gets her prezzie)

Dropdeadfred · 11/01/2008 09:27

Well done Detexctive Squonk!
Right then...champers or flowers?

OP posts:
fryalot · 11/01/2008 09:46

bugger. That put a spanner in the works, didn't it.

Do you think it is safe to assume that everyone else will get flowers, and if we get the champers it will be a bit different?

Dropdeadfred · 11/01/2008 09:47

Yep...okay.

Shall I order them now then?

OP posts:
Dropdeadfred · 11/01/2008 09:49

I am not sure how long those gift things take to be delivered and if it's just through the post or courier? Any chance of finding out Detective Squonk?

My c/card is ready and waiting.

OP posts:
fryalot · 11/01/2008 09:52

off to find out.
