Hi. Sorry to jump on your thread but I am thinking about buying a zapp and have found a website selling them for £99 with free delivery. Is this a good offer? thanks.

mumtojandm · 11/01/2008 09:57

Sorry, more questions.
I need an easy pushchair for the school run. How easy does it steer one handed?
Does it go up and down kerbs easily?
Is the seat narrow or wide?
Not too bothered that it doesn't recline as dd won't be asleep when we take ds to school or pick him up.
Thanks

fryalot · 11/01/2008 09:58

okay, spoke to a very friendly chap who said that when you get to the delivery choice, you should click "guaranteed next day delivery" and they will deliver before 1.00pm tomorrow (even though it's Saturday). He said that the things we want are in stock, and the hospital is definitely within the area covered by next day delivery. ( he then went on to say that some of the remote islands off the coast of Scotland are not covered, so I think we're pretty much safe )

He also said if there are any problems at all, just to give him a ring and let him know.

(think I pulled )

Dropdeadfred · 11/01/2008 10:01

It is a very light and easily steerable pushchair (although obviously the weight of your own child needs considering..I use mone with a 2.5 yr old and it's fine).
I'm not sure about one handed for any length of time, haven't tried it tbh.

The seat is wide enough to be comfortable for her and it goes up and down kerbs fine.

OP posts:
fryalot · 11/01/2008 10:01

ooh, hello mumtoj&m -

the zapp steers fine one handed
it is ok going up and down kerbs, but at first it feels as if it's going to tip over. It isn't, it just feels that way till you get used to it.

The seat is quite snug, but roomy if that makes sense. My 13 year old can sit in it comfortably, but when ds (2) is in it it doesn't look too big for him.

If you're not planning on doing lots of shopping with it then it sounds like just what you need. Tis crap for shopping but great for school runs and such

£99 delivered is a good deal. It's not the best, if you shop around you might be able to get better, but it is good.

Feel free to come and join us for a chat anyway, we don't just talk about pushchairs

Dropdeadfred · 11/01/2008 10:02

Oooh Squonk you flirt...you're very sprightly for a 57 yr old!!

Helloooooooo,
somehow I always seem to miss the improtant chat on here. have been to drs about blood test and rash this morning (in the pouring rain but at least I have the car).

Re message (if its not too late), t I think something along the lines of:

Congratulations Egg family and welcome to Rebecca & Jacob. with much love "the zappatas"

or is that too gushy?

Dropdeadfred · 11/01/2008 10:21

Was going to say:

Congratulations Egg, DP & DS1

Welcome to the world Rebecca & Jacob

Lots of love from the Zappatas
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Is that okay?

OP posts:
Dropdeadfred · 11/01/2008 10:21

Oooh Hi Marmite...hows the rash?

OP posts:
marmitemad · 11/01/2008 10:25

Fred - words look perfect, please let me know about money so I can paypal you today.

bloody rash wasn't there today but the leftovers from previous were. felt a bit wrong to be dropping my in front of the male doctor but he didn't bat an eyelid. rash is probably a reaction from the methotrexate so have to wait for review with consultant in feb but gp gave me a high dose antihistamine prescription to help.

why is it raining so much??????????????????

fryalot · 11/01/2008 10:31

Is it too late? Have you done it?

Egg's got a DH not a DP other than that, it's perfect.

If you've already done it, not to worry, she will be fine about it.

Dropdeadfred · 11/01/2008 10:33

Okay..it has been ordered!!!!

OP posts:
Dropdeadfred · 11/01/2008 10:35

Squonk..I obviously substituted 'Egg, DP and DS1' with their real names!! [ink]

Yes it's been done.

OP posts:
Dropdeadfred · 11/01/2008 10:35

fryalot · 11/01/2008 11:57

ooh, ooh, ooh!!!!

I forgot to tell you all (that bloody egg stealing all the attention! pah!)

dd2 slept all night.

In her own bed.

That's three times now.

No, not three times in a row. Three times. Since she was born. But hey ho, small victories

Dropdeadfred · 11/01/2008 12:29

wow Squonk that's brill

Not a good time to tell you that dd3 has resolved her sleep issues since her tonsillitus and now sleeps 12 and a half hours straight every night...

No I've said that she will wake up three times tonight!!!

OP posts:
fryalot · 11/01/2008 12:37

tis good that dd3 has been sleeping better. Really, I'm pleased

I am now able to tell dd2 that EVERY child I know sleeps waaaaay better than she does - I gave her a lollipop today for being good and I promised her another one tomorrow if she sleeps in her bed all night again... we'll see

Dropdeadfred · 11/01/2008 12:41

Bless her! Tell her I will send her a lolly too if she does it again!

OP posts:
marmitemad · 11/01/2008 12:50

Glad you had a good night Squonk, and that sleep is better for dd3, Fred.

we had a bad night with dd . Up at 4am, she eventually went to sleep upright in my arms but woke when I put her back in the cot so resorted to medised after 1 hour awake and crying (she was really snuffly) and then sang songs for 30mins and gradually withdrew although she was still whimpering when I finally left. really got the impression she was desperate to be cuddled but was determined not to pick her up the 2nd time, am I a bad mummy?
