OP posts:
fryalot · 28/02/2008 13:37

do I look like I'm bovvered?

I mean look at this face... is it bovvered? is it? is it?

Egg · 28/02/2008 13:39

Is it wrong to leave 2 babies crying in their cot while I eat a sandwich and chat to my teenage pals?

fryalot · 28/02/2008 13:40

nope

Dropdeadfred · 28/02/2008 14:00

only if you're counting how many bottles of white lightning and packs of B&H their child benefit will buy this week, whilst typing...

OP posts:
Egg · 28/02/2008 14:04

Funnily enough was just looking at my new statement of child benefit. Why do second and subsequent children get LESS? DS1 gets £18 something but DTs get £12 something each. Ah well, not like I put it into an account for them anyway, I spend it all on meeeeeeeeeee (prefer diamond white / thunderbird tho)

fryalot · 28/02/2008 14:16

and when I was a teenager, it wasn't B & H, it was JPS - do they even still make JPS? hey ho!

re: child benefit, I think it's because with that extra £6 a week, you can buy cots, pushchairs, beds etc that you can then use on the other children so you don't need it for the younger ones.

Egg · 28/02/2008 14:53

Hmmm, what about if you have TWINS and need two of everything? Hmmmm, I ask you. Who makes up these rules? Grrr.

Both babies in bed. There is silence. Not for long I am sure.

Egg · 28/02/2008 14:54

I have never smoked [smug] but have not heard of JPS. But maybe they were before my time .

fryalot · 28/02/2008 14:56

lol

oh yeah, JPS and we used to smoke them whilst we were waiting for the teddy boys to take us to the hop. Twas a shocking change when the world stopped being black & white, I can tell you.

Now, when I was your age....

Egg · 28/02/2008 15:03

Squonk you are very witty. Perhaps you have missed your calling. Tis no longer silent here. DD is wailing.

It's funny whenever a baby is crying and we are not in the same room as them, I say to DS1 "who's crying" and he always knows which one it is! Even when I am sometimes wrong he is always right. He gets so excited when he sees them each morning, bless him. It will soon wear off.

Really wanting a drink. Is 3pm too early?

Dropdeadfred · 28/02/2008 15:08

of water...no.
of white lightning...probably...

Squonk is definitely witty...makes up for not having that dewy youthful look eh Squonk?

OP posts:
Egg · 28/02/2008 15:13

Squonk still looks younger than me despite her advancing years. I have grey skin now. I really ought to be lying down now, but I am enjoying chatting.

Think I will have a cup of tea and a glass of water and wait til 4pm for the Jack Daniels.

Egg · 28/02/2008 15:18

Have got my tea, but am drinking it out of my YummyMummy mug and think perhaps I ought to put it into retirement for a few months. Hope I can look respectable on 30 May. I guarantee all three DCs will be up all night on 29 May just to make me look shocking.

Ooooh, 29 May is the day I found out I was pg last year!!!

Must get out my wedding dress and see how much weight I need to lose if I want to wear it on 30 May.

Dropdeadfred · 28/02/2008 15:20

wohoo JD!!! you have spent the Child Benefit haven't you?

Squonky does have a very young look...my skin is treated from the inside with oil (on fih and chips etc) rather than the more expensive outside moisturising option...

OP posts:
Egg · 28/02/2008 15:25

LOL Fred . Mine too, but with butter!

Just realised poor DS2 is due a feed, I was pretending I couldn't hear him crying . I am such a bad mother.

Wonder where our dewy youthful marmitey friend is today. And Phono. Too busy for the Zappatas ????????

fryalot · 28/02/2008 15:57

they've probably gone to buy some hoodies and listen to a mosquito or something

some people moisturise from the oustide? are you sure? next you'll be telling me that they eat steamed vegetables instead of deep fried

now, where did I put my crocheting? I saw a pattern for a lovely twinset...

fryalot · 28/02/2008 15:58

egg - whilst it is probably a little early to put ds2 on a diet, I wouldn't worry about missing his feed too much - I assume you've now remembered and are feeding him?

Dropdeadfred · 28/02/2008 16:03

Phono and marmite are probably on their way home from school now

Squonk...rubbsh steaming veg..dip them n batter and call it tempura...posh sounding deepfried nosh

OP posts:
fryalot · 28/02/2008 16:07

now that's an idea for tea

actually, we're having steak & kidney puddings a la northern bint

Dropdeadfred · 28/02/2008 16:09

hmmmmmmmmmmm i love steak and kidney...

OP posts:
fryalot · 28/02/2008 16:10

I'll send you some in the post

fryalot · 28/02/2008 16:11

when the young-uns get here, tell them they'll be grounded next time they come into the thread so late

I have to go and start trying to make it look like I've been doing housework all day... perhaps a couple of beads of oil on my forehead to look like sweat?

see ya tomorrow

Dropdeadfred · 28/02/2008 16:17

that's right leave ME on homework duty again...

I was hoping to go crown green bowling with the meals on wheels girls...now I'm stuck here whilst you're scoffing snae and pygmy
