Hello ladies,
have been very busy here baking more cakes and working very hard and I am feeling rather coldy again.

Phono - would you like to come and help me fix my 10W30 Chevron blend which keeps going
wrong? [hopeful emoticon] How is the fat lip?

Egg - Hope today goes better for you and ds1 has a lovely birthday tomorrow, did you get my card yet? (dh posted it far too early)

Squonk - lovely to have you back, did you do anything exciting while your Mum was visiting? about los sleeping.

Fred - are your lot on half term this week? Great news about MIL.

SIL is still in hosp, they thought they might have to deliver on Sat , things have calmed down now but they are going to make her stay in 4 weeks until induction at 37 weeks .

Don't know whther to go swimming today but hopefully getting my blood test results this afternoon.

good luck with the blood tests, marmite. We have taken up swimming = as a family, so you can imagine not a lot of actual swimming takes place, but we all seem to be enjoying bobbing about in the water I must say, it's the only time that I'm not in pain (arthritis for those that don't know) so I'm extra happy about it.

Interesting stuff with my mum... umm.... not really we went to the seaside on the Saturday and the kids all had a play on the fun fair (log flume got them very wet), took her to the Sunday market then in the afternoon I took her to the pub to watch Man City thrash Man United and probably got her a bit more tipsy than I had planned (myself as well if I'm honest) then on the Monday I took everyone to The Deep, which is fantastic, as always. That was it really. Then mum and nephew went home and we just did stuff really - shopping, mooching, you know

Fingers crossed for your SIL, marmite - keep us posted, won't you.

(what's a 10W30 Chevron blend?)

fryalot · 19/02/2008 12:10

phono - started a new game with you, but didn't have a single vowel in my tiles - I had a Q and a J though.

So my first go was to swap my tiles - your go

marmitemad · 19/02/2008 13:12

Had a really good swim even though I had to go in the cold, deep pool (other one full of kids), have just eaten a large piece of choc chip shortbread though

10W30 is the viscosity grade (runnyness) and blend is with Chevron base oils (amongst a few other things). I'm off now to have my xl spreadsheet interrogated by my boss to see if we can work out whats going wrong.

Phono - hope the difficult conversation goes ok.

Squonk - the deep looks fab, hope we can make it there one day.

fryalot · 19/02/2008 13:13

am dying to find out what the difficult conversation is [nosy cow emoticon]

marmite - am still none the wiser about what one of those chevronny things is

glad the difficult conversation is over. And you did right not to apologise. People are always apologising when there is no need and it kind of diminishes from a real apology iykwim. Besides, you did nowt wrong.

come on marmite, let us know about the blood tests

It is lovely. But so is the one that you already have.

The only real way to tell would be to try them both on one after another (and maybe take photos of yourself and email them to us for our appraisal) Which I suspect won't be possible.

I really did love the original one, but this one is drop dead gorgeous too.

On balance, I think my advice would be to keep the one you have, it is fabulously wondrous and you will look beautiful in it. And it's in your wardrobe.

Whereas if you go to the hassle of selling it and buying another one, you won't look any more beautiful.

And even if you got married looking like this dp would still go ahead with it (probably)

In the UK you would pay £675-£800 for that dress. I have been offered it from the USA for £280 INC SHIPPING!!!
Even if I get stung for customs it is only going to be about another £100 on top....

Now can I have it??? (pretty pwease....)

I could sell my other one for more than that as it is new and still has tags etc

OP posts:
Dropdeadfred · 19/02/2008 16:03

squonk...lol...if i had boobs as big as that I'd be happy!! (think Dp would too..)

OP posts:
fryalot · 19/02/2008 16:05

Do you reeeeeeeeeeeeeally want it?

Will your wedding be ruined without it? Are we talking that kind of really wanting? Or do you just think it's better than the original one?

And what if the first one doesn't sell?

Can you afford it? (without going into debt I mean - we can all afford anything we like if we ignore the credit card bills )

What if you buy it, sell the original one and then see another dress that is even better than this one?

Now I think that's quite enough from the voice of doom squonk.

You know that you will look fantastic in either dress, don't you? You do know that? As long as you know that, it doesn't matter which dress you have. If you want this one, get it.

fryalot · 19/02/2008 16:10

got to switch off the computer now - sorry.

Fingers crossed that you get the dress dilemma sorted, fred.

see you all tomorrow (when hopefully Marmite will have told us the results of her blood tests)

Dropdeadfred · 19/02/2008 16:11

Awwww Squonk...fank u!!
I do love it..Im not such a sad bridezilla that I think my wedding would be shite without it..I guess with everything thats happened lately with regards to the wedding I have got a bit jittery about the day...just wanted something to get me all excited about it again and I do love the dress. As a jeans and t-shirt girl I know this is one of the few timesI could really 'knock the socks off' DP with an amazing makeover and I just don't feel the first dress is as amazing as the second.

But you're right about it not being that important and now I sound really shallow and teenagerish...
