oh dear, poor you and poor ds . How are the tonsils?

dd's birthday is on 24th Feb, I have to make 2 x No. 1 cakes and a baby cake for my friends baby shower next Friday. Have never used proper icing either but hoping the shop will give me some tips tomorrow.

Sorry Fred, forgot to ask how MIL is?

will be awol tomorrow til late as we are swimming in morning and then I have to go into work for the afternoon . dh has booked afternoon off to look after dd and looked at me with horror earlier when I asked what he was doing? I suggested going to swings but I think he thinks he's going to sit on the sofa reading/watching tv .

Egg · 14/02/2008 18:40

Sorry been on other threads today briefly and not made it here . Got to do some colouring with DS1 now as I promised him but will chat later .

Dropdeadfred · 15/02/2008 10:05

Hi girls having a cacky day but still feeling fairly upbeat. DS1 has been an angel thankfully, DD been pretty good, DS2 having probs with wind / poo / snot / life in general it seems! He is flailing around in cot at mo (got fed up with him drowing out tv down here) and he keeps hitting DD with his hands, and she is still sound asleep, smiling a bit to herself and looking smug.

Phono v funny quotes!

I got a bottle of VEUVE on my pillow on V day [smug].

Fingers crossed for MIL Fred.

Any plans for the weekend girls?

DS1 trying for a poo now. Thank GOD DH home in half an hour... I will be turning to booze asap.

marmitemad · 15/02/2008 20:49

Hello ladies,
sorry have been awol (although no-one noticed - sob). Busy, busy life but am very to find I somehow lost 3lb this week (hope those doughnuts on sunday don't catch up with me soon).

waited 45min at drs this morning for blood test and spent rest of day rushing around.

Egg - am very that you got a bottle of veuve, my dh obviously didn't get the hints although I did get a very nice box of chocs. do the twins sleep in the same cot? hope you are enjoying that bottle now????

Phono - those are good quotes, maybe we could have a quote of the day?

Fred - Hope MIL is doing ok.

Am looking forward to tomorrow as we are going to watch Charlton v Watford (we might be in for an a**e kicking) FIL has booked posh seats with meal & half time prawn sandwiches , but best of all I am not driving, will try my hardest not to make a spectacle. Am also looking forward to my mum & dad coming back from their cruise on Sunday, have really missed them not being on reachable.

Can you all send get well soon vibes to SIL no.2 who has been admitted to hosp for monitoring of pre-eclampsia.

marmitemad · 15/02/2008 20:57

oh my goodness, dh has just walked in with a bottle of VEUVE . I am slightly suspicious that he took his blackberry and was lurking on here as he had to go to corner shop to get baked beans for dinner but am still very .

Dropdeadfred · 15/02/2008 21:50

Good on you Mr Marmite!!!

I am sending positive vibes to your sil Marmite - hope all is well.

MIL is fine!!!
The endoscopy did show an enlarged liver but no sinister reasons...possibly from her having a mild hepatitis about 10 years ago...no further actio needed apparently...yaay!!

Marmite - hang on a mo..does your dh READ our thread and know your name??!!?!?!?

ooh, phono - ds has done that to me, too! Dd2 did a similar thing and gave me a black eye at around the same time, so I had a fat lip and a black eye for a week or so, I looked like Ricky Hatton

Apparently, dd2's nursery is always shut on the first day back after half term. (should have read the letter, then I'd have known this) Felt a bit of a twonk sitting outside nursery on my own till someone came and told me But at least I got to tell another mum who was coming in as I was going out!!!

Egg · 18/02/2008 13:21

So much for being around this morning . Have literally had about 5 mins since getting back from nursery / shops at 10am that one or both babies has not been crying. Trying to get things done (got to get everything ready before sis and kids arrive tomorrow, presents wrapped for DS1 and nephew, etc etc) and am getting NOWHERE.

Poor DD is being sick (just normal posseting type sick) but it is full of snot [bleurgh emoticon]. She is finally not crying since I just changed her nappy and left her lying on the changing mat on the floor . Perhaps I should leave here there all day .

DS1 woke up four times last night. Once for about 20 mins, the other times only for 5 mins or so. He was coughing a lot and sobbing his heart out. OK this morning.

Talking of DC related injuries in your earlier posts, DS1 hit DH over the head with a dustbin yesterday. DH was not amused.

DD crying again. Time to ram a bottle in and hope for the best.

Sorry not to have commented on most of what was written earlier, meant to re-read to remind myself and have failed and now have to go .
