we got to 1000 again....made me reminisce about our original thread all those months ago

hello FlamNFurter

Mine only did that once and when I put it back on it seemed strong and sturdy and I haven't had any problems with it since. I presume you have checked that all the nuts and bolts are in place?

Maybe one of the others can help.

Sorry I can't be more use

Egg · 07/02/2008 08:35

oooh dear Flame, mine has never fallen off despite a lot of abuse!!! Sorry... I think demand a NEW one .

Squonk glad meeting with bro went ok. Marmite hope that you continue to check MN first thing, I normally do . So what did you buy last night then???????????

Yesterday DS1 was the best boy EVER, he was lovely all day and got tons and tons of praise. We went to softplay in morning, played in garden in afternoon, he helped me do a few things, and was all in all a joy to be around. I think it helps when I am feeling good (ie had some sleep) as my mood can often rub off on him. Off to nursery soon, once I get off MN, nothing stopping us, both babies fed and asleep, DS1 has had his weetabix and we are all dressed, just need to clean our teeth.

Last night not great, started well but both babies seem to have snotty noses and so were all snuffly and whingey. Been up since before 6am but doula is coming at 10 and mum coming just when doula is leaving so should be able to get some rest (registering babies births today!).

fryalot · 07/02/2008 08:40

egg - glad ds was an angel You're right about your mood - even if they only do a teensy little thing wrong, your tired and irritable mind can blow it up so it's a HUGE problem. Plenty of times dp has come home to me complaining that a child has done something absolutely awful, and we're going to have to give him/her up for adoption, tis terrible, can't stand it any longer!!!! And dp has put things into perspective because he wasn't actually here, and it's not actually that bad after all.

Sounds like you'll be able to get some rest when doula and your mum come.

marmite - tis not a bad habit, tis an essential habit

Dropdeadfred · 07/02/2008 09:34

Squonk...ooh it's great when the littlies get clothes isn't it!

Marmite - you HAVE to check MN it's compulsory!
Egg - get back to bed!!!

Wheres Phono?

OP posts:
Egg · 07/02/2008 09:48

Can't go to BED. DS2 is due a feed soon and am hoping he can hold out til doula gets here, he is ok at the mo, just looking round and hiccupping, but when she does arrive I then have to go into town, post off my listening thing and go to register births (have 11am appt) so no sleep til later on (prob lunchtime after I get back).

Where is Phono? She was just getting good at becoming a regular!

Squonk agree it is LOVELY to get clothes, esp bags full as exciting going through them and finding lovely things. It feels a bit like that for me everytime I even open a bag of my own baby stuff as I remember how cute DS1 looked in it! Both babies keep outgrowing their stuff before the weight range says they should as they are both LONG (unlike poor DS1 who has my short legs ).

fryalot · 07/02/2008 09:58

ooh, egg, dd1 was looooooooong and it's only the last couple of years she's slowed down and become "a bit tall for her age" she was always HUGE.

In fact, I was telling her last night, when she was the size that dd2 is now, she wasn't even 1!!!!

I have to get my house looking as if someone fairly clean lives here today. Mum visiting tomorrow

Dropdeadfred · 07/02/2008 10:12

dd3 has height and no weight...her babygros were always hugely baggy but straining at the toes...

GUESS WHAT - I can't believe I have forgotten to mention this, uess it proves how painless it has been.

DD3 is potty trained! She is completely trained during the day and it has only taken a week or two since she first agree to go on her potty...!!!
Yesterday I took her to playgroup with no nappy and she was fine..came up after drinktime to ask to be taken to the toilet...we are very proud of her, we haven't had to do anything other than praise her. A few weeks ago I thought she would be going to school in nappies.
She has also gone from having a sopping nappy every morning to being pretty much dry (or sometimes it seems that she has only just had a wee in it when she wakes up).

Hurray I am saving a fortune on nappies!!!

OP posts:
fryalot · 07/02/2008 10:20

wow!!!!!!

well done babyfred

dd2 okay during the day, but still wearing a nappy at night.

ds okay as long as he has no clothes on. Put underpants on him and he wees

yay, phono's still alive albeit quite ill, but deffo still with us. Sorry you're feeling shite, phono.

Potty training may be better left till next summer perhaps? But tis deffo easier in the summer coz you don't worry so much about them running around semi-naked.

I have come to say ta'ra for a bit.

As I mentioned, my mum is coming tomorrow so I won't be around for a few days, and it's half term next week, so it may be difficult for me to get on then, and if I don't switch this fecking computer off, there is no chance of my house being even remotely presentable!

So, I'm off to clean the house and I probably won't be back till a week on Monday

Feel free to text me (pllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeease)

Apologies to everyone I'm playing scrabble with (which I think is everyone except egg )

Oh I don't wanna gooooooooooooooooo
I don't wanna cleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeean
I wanna stay heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere

Dropdeadfred · 07/02/2008 13:22

Bye Squonk... We'll miss you!

Phono, sorry to hear about the illness, poorly tonsils suck...
Thanks for comments on dd3 and her potty training, honestly though every time, until a week or so ago, that we mentioned the potty she would say no. Then yell until we put a nappy on...now it's like a switch has been flicked in her head...

It's good though!

Hope Egg is now in sleepyland....?

hello ladies,
Had such a lovely but tiring day today. dd slept all night again (marmite crosses fingers and s), she was such a star in swimming class and then we met up with baby group friends for chinese buffet before messy play. dd tried and discarded spring rolls and noodles. Messy play was really fun once dd has overcome her shyness. Paint absolutely everywhere and I stupidly forgot to wear old clothes as well as dd. Then we went to cranial osteopath who said blah blah blah about tightness/stresses and interestingly asked if she's had any problems with her chest (bronchiolitis several times).

So to have missed saying addios to Squonk, hope she has a lovely time with her family.

Phono - I am so to hear you are poorly again. Hope you are getting lots of tlc and vit c?

Fred - Am so to hear about the potty training, how old is dd3? maybe you could write a book of tips for the rest of us?

How funny that you were talking about bags of baby clothes as I got dd's stuff back from my friend and started sorting in last night to pass on to SILs. It made me soooooooo broody and I just had to put one more pair of teeny trousers into dd's memory box. I love getting hand-me-downs/loans from friends.

Egg - hope you got some rest today and glad that ds' behaviour has improved. I am still in awe at you all being dressed at 08:35am with dts at 4 weeks old.

Guess what I bought today?????????????????
..
....
"I love you" marmite with champagne for dh for valentines. not sure what it will taste like but just had to buy it.

Phono...but why?

Get in the habit of asking him to help you ie..when you are doing the milk just say 'can you get him in his pjs please?'

Is he just thoughtless or a bit oblivious to what needs doing?

no Egg today , hope everything is ok??

Right girls, I need some af advice. Have been on LoEstrin pill since May last year (was also on it before dd) and af has been a bit up and down but had settled into the normal routine. I didn't bleed last month although had all the symptoms (which were also my pg symptoms so did a pg test to check, and it was negative). Have now missed bleeding this month as well but few symptoms other than a bit of pmt and a few other strange things. Have done another test tonight which was negative again (was a teeeny weeny bit dissappointed ). Not actually missing bleeding (who does) but I am slightly concerned if I am somehow pg as this will be a problem with the medication I have been taking. I guess I should go to my gp but it seems a bit trivial for that? Have not missed any pills but we did have the d & v bug last week. sorry this is rather lengthy, I suppose I should post this on health as well (but not sure I'm brave enough).

Dropdeadfred · 08/02/2008 23:10

I think Egg has her mum staying Marmite so maybe not MN'ing for a day or two. Lets hope she is getting some sleep though...

Marmite, sorry I know nothing about the pill you mentioned..is it one that is designe dto stop your periods...or can do as a side effect like the Mirena coil??

I would perhaps read the details carefully that come inside the pack and if errati periods are not a side effect then give your GP a ring. It can't help to pu your mind at rest...especially given the medical worries.

Best of luck - oh, you could alys Google it and see what comes up first I guess...

Hi girls sorry for absence! Mum was here and have been bus and hectic... dad came for day also yesterday and I felt quite rested so didn't have a lie down and was almost dead before bed. Thankfully went to bed at 9pm and slept til nearly 2 thanks to DH doing feeds at 9/10pm, rest of night was crap though, they seem to follow a pattern now of sleeping well for first part and being unsettled and whingey for rest.

DS1 now unwell. Did not eat much lunch yesterday, went to bed and woke up crying after an hour and he was boiling hot and very red. Had slight temp of just over 100 and managed to get back to sleep. Was all happy when he woke up but within 10 mins had deteriotated again (we were all going out in the garden as he wanted to play but he then came in after a few mins saying "no, no". He had no supper but thankfully is drinking milk well. Slept ok but up before 6am and not eaten today either, not even choc chip shortbread! He is struggling to nap now and when I went in his pillow was soaked in sweat .

Anyway..........

So Phono are you feeling better? Your DP sounds a little like my DH but possibly worse. We have been moaning about this very thing with DPs/DHs on our Feb thread. Most will help out a bit, but have to be asked every time. DH is better now as he must realise I can't deal with THREE on my own, but he definitely used to just kind of presume that if I was there, then I would do most things (although has always been good at bathing DS if he is home in time).

Marmite. So I can only presume you are not pg if you tested last month and this month and still negative, but no idea why you would miss AFs. I would definitely see GP as tis strange no matter what, and I presume this pill never caused you to skip periods before. If it was a new pill then I wouldn't think much of it but as you have been taking it for a while I would definitely get checked out. As you say no-one misses the bleeding but best to be sure, esp as you say with the drugs you have to take.

Fred FAB news about DD and potty training. My blardy MIL is always going on asking when am I going to train DS. FFS he is not even 2 yet, and I certainly had no intention of trying before DTs were born, only to have him regress as I have been told many children do when a new baby comes along. He does tell me when he is needing / having a poo, but as I think I said before he usually takes half a day to actually do it and I am NOT sitting around waiting while he sits on a potty for hours! He does have a potty, he knows what it's for, I think he sees some of the others at nursery using them, but I would rather wait until he is showing more signs of being ready AND also wait for summer. Tips though would be very helpful indeed!

Right have done my Tesco order, I think rest of house is asleep, so I shall go and lie on sofa and watch some of the Home & Away omnibus .

Ah, someone is squeaking . DH was a star this morning and took whingeing DTs downstairs about 7am and I went back to sleep til nearly 9, so for once I have had MORE SLEEP THAN DH, hence he is asleep now, so if someone does wake up it's my turn really.

Sorry, loooooooooooooooong post.

oh Fred, meant to say, I don't think any of us would expect to be invited to your wedding, even though of course we would LOVE TO! We have only met once, and not even ALL met yet, so would have to be a very big wedding to be able to accommodate us.

However, if half your guests are hit with a gastric bug the week before and can't come we are more than happy to step in to make up numbers . As long as we see some pics of you looking goooooooooorgeous in your lovely dress than that is enough for us (I speak for us all, of course ).

Dropdeadfred · 10/02/2008 22:03

Thanks Egg, I know I have only met you girls oce (well to of you)..but I do 'speak' to you all on a daily basis, which is more than can be said for half the people who ARE oming to the wedding!!

Just thought it ould have been nice to see you all there, but I know it must have seemed strange
