we got to 1000 again....made me reminisce about our original thread all those months ago

OP posts:
fryalot · 25/01/2008 09:35

spoke too soon.

The kids slept all night. I couldn't sleep. At all. Kept staring at the ceiling so in the end I gave up and read a book. Till 5 this morning.

Alarm went off at 6.

Am not feeling too tired at the mo, but my eyes are really stingy and gritty.

bleurgh!

Everyone else ok?

oh bugger! tis a pita when you can't leave anything not nailed down, isn't it! But don't worry about us, we were getting something for nothing anyway

I think the insomnia was just because I had 18 hours sleep in two days - that's normally a week's worth, my body couldn't cope with it Twill be ok and should settle down soon, if I try to get about 6 hours or so a night.

It seems weird to be able to even think about what sleep I would like to get, I have had years and years of snatching as much sleep as I possibly can, that actually limiting it seems odd now

dd2 told me this morning that she wanted a cuddle in the middle of the night, so she got in bed with ds. Have told her that she can still come in with us if she feels like it, but she said she wanted to stay in her own room, just not in her own bed.

Egg · 25/01/2008 14:08

Hello Zappatas! I wanted to come and say hi as I had to log on to let the Feb thread girls know that one of the gang is in LABOUR (just had a text) so did not want to pass up the opportunity of seeing you lot too.

Phono am at the thieving buggers who took the bag with TENS machine. I think Squonk is right though that buying is not much more than hiring and as he needs it permanently (or at least longer than you would for labour for example) hiring would not be worth it although could be easier to hire one if you need it asap (sorry, prob already too late for all of this as imagine you will have had to sort him out by now so he is not in agony poor man ).

Squonk very of the 10 hours, but even I have never had as little as ONE hour... I think I am averaging about four hours a night, with an hour in the day, and am not feeling too bad on it. Certainly still got a lot more energy than when the little blighters were inside.

Looking forward to DH being home for the weekend, but not looking forward to next week as mum is leaving in a mo and doula does not arrive til 10am ish so I will have to get DS to nursery and take babies with me (they have not left the house since coming home from hosp as it is too much of a palava trying to sort it out in between feeds, esp as they rarely feed at same time as DS2 can go longer as he eats twice as much each time than little delicate DD!).

Squonk I like DD2 getting into bed with DS, that solves everything as if they need company they can have each other and leave you and DP to get on with some boffing. Maybe you made the most of being wide awake and seduced DP last night????????????

Fred, your dress really is beautiful and you will look AMAZING so dont go worrying about other ones out there. I hope WW goes ok, how much do you need / want to lose to get into the dress? Hopefully not too much as you don't want it to take over and get you all stressed. You will prob find that nearer the BIG DAY the weight slips off anyway with the stress and excitement.

Right I must go, mum is getting ready to leave, all small ones are asleep although think next feed will be around 3pm so not long for my lie down left now . Still, DH home at 6:30 so I wont be alone too long. CBeebies will be on all afternoon once DS1 is up (he only just went down so fingers crossed will sleep a while).

Hope to get on a bit at the weekend, although you lot are never around then .

marmitemad · 25/01/2008 14:16

hellooooooooooooooooooooooon ladies,

sorry for my absence, t'internet at home isn't working (supply server problem ) so have not been on for ages.

dd is back to waking screaming at 4am although last night it was 3am!!!!!

no more time for personals as I'm at work (booking our holiday holiday in Normandy) but hope to catch up with you all properly soon.

Egg · 25/01/2008 17:21

Marmite maybe I had better start texting you in the middle of the night. We can keep each other company.

Oh bugger. DD is crying. It's coming up for food time again for her, and she never blardy takes enough. Would make her wait but she is so weeny she needs to eat little and often.

DS1 is going over to comfort her. When she started crying he waved at her and said hello .

Egg · 27/01/2008 09:31

I STOLE THAT LINE FROM ONE OF THE MULTIPLE MUMS .

Where are you all. Ok I know it is Squonk's DD1's bday today (and failed to send a card) but it's no excuse. Oh, I think marmite has no internet at home . So FRED, where are you???????????

Dropdeadfred · 27/01/2008 19:24

Happy Birthday Squonk's dd1. Hiya Egg..so lovely to hear from you!!!

I would like to lose two stone, but I think the dress might fit even if I only lose one. PLEASE make sure I keep it up this time!!!

OP posts:
marmitemad · 27/01/2008 20:02

Yay, I think the internet is finally fixed (after they said it would take 2 days on Tuesday ).

Fred - Your dress is perfect and you will look wonderful whatever your weight but hope ww is going ok. Maybe we can offer each other moral support? I didn't lose anything this week despite being quite good and swimming lots. Have cooked and eaten a huge roast dinner today and 3 helpings of apple crumble & ice cream which was very yummy.

Phono - very about dp's bag, hope dp is coping without the tens, I am surprised he can't get one from the nhs, is he still waiting to see a consultant? I have sero-negative inflammatory arthropathy everywhere apart from my shoulders, elbows and wrists so know what its like to live with constant pain. Let me know if I can offer any moral support.

Egg - glad you are coping with all the feeding, hopefully things will settle down soon. Between dd and my sore knees you are probably getting more sleep than me at the mo!! Good luck getting ds to nursery tomorrow. what days does he go again? we would love to come and see you soon so I can take ds to the park maybe.

Squonk - hope dd1 had a lovely birthday. Have finally played my scrabulous move.

am very excited as we have now booked this cottage for a week in June with dsis in law & family but that P&O halved their ferry prices a day after we booked our trip.

marmitemad · 27/01/2008 20:08

and dd has suddenly discovered how interesting the cats water and food bowls are , she can get to them surprisingly quickly if the utility room door is left open!! poor cat was also dragged backwards by the tail this morning despite much scrabbling on the kitchen tiles (twas very funny)

Egg · 27/01/2008 20:14

I can't look at your link marmite. Something about my cookies . Bet it will be lovely though, despite the crapness of P&Os timing...

DS1 goes to nursery on Mondays and Thursdays so any other day is fab for a visit. Maybe a Friday as think you work Mon-Weds (could be wrong of course...). We could all go to the park together as today I successfully managed to take DD and DS2 out on my own! Not with DS1 as well though, that will be tomorrow's challenge.

Have decided I will pad DS2 up and take him in the sling as someone else said she took her small baby (or babies) out in a Baby Bjorn and just put them in lots of layers so they fit ok. Otherwise am terrified we will be halfway between nursery and home and DS1 will refuse to walk and I will be completely stuck as can't carry him with one arm and would have to still be able to push pushchair. Will try to get him to walk anyway, but see what happens.

Fred you honestly will look fab on your wedding day. Without sounding all gushy or all lesbonic, you have fabulous skin, hair, figure (despite you not believing it) and you will outshine everyone, plus you will be so happy and excited that you wont be able to stop grinning which will make you look even more fab!

I am still eating for three so will probably be joining you both on WW soon .

Right, am off to bed now, wont prob get on much tomorrow until pm as feel foolish when doula is here "wasting" my time on MN.

Squonk hope DD1 had a great day, sorry about lack of card, I feel as I managed to send your DD2 and DS cards. Don't imagine DD1 cares that much but I still feel bad...

Phono, can't remember, whereabouts do you live? Is it London? Where in London? Just wondering if and when we do all get together you will make it as well as would be lovely to meet you too .

fryalot · 28/01/2008 07:18

morning

dd1 had a good day. Unfortunately, due to her bad behaviour in previous weeks, we cancelled any birthday treats that we had planned for her (cruel parents ) so we all just stayed at home. She disappeared to her room for a bit to watch her dvds on her new telly (bought by grandad), put loads of music on the memory card of her phone (bought by us) and count her money (farking loads of it sent by every other relative !)

Me and the littlies baked her a cake which went down well, and dp cooked her her favourite roast dinner with extra roast potatoes (can't believe she's so slim - tis amazing what a 14 year old body can put up with)

egg - glad you're getting out and about with the twins... must be a HUGE expedition getting them both ready and in their pram! Well done

marmite - sounds painful. Do you have any coping strategies for the pain, or do you rely on painkillers?

My cousin had a thing for the cat bowl... he used to snack on whiskers! He is perfectly healthy now, btw

phono - how you feeling today? any better than last week?

fred - without me sounding all lezzer as well - what egg said you are fabbily gorgeous and will wow them whether you lose any weight or not. But we'll offer as much support for the ww-ing as we can.

Egg · 28/01/2008 07:47

Morning!

Well I am up, washed, dressed, eating porridge and everyone else is asleep. I will have to wake them ALL to go to nursery. DD is due a feed by 9am so need to leave here by 8:30 to be back home in time. I bet she starts screaming when we get to nursery...

Ohhhh was about to chat away about bday girls etc but DS1 is AWAKE! Hurrah!

Back later.

OOOOOhh I love you girls!!!I could turn lesbo on you but I'd have to be doing the dirty on all of you cos you're all so luuuurrrverly to me
So I guess I'd best turn my back on that option and stick to getting married.

Phono - the wedding is 12/7/08.

Egg - you are an amazing woman and very brave for even thinking of taking all the children out and about. If it's not a silly question, is driving there not possible???

Squonk - tough love for DD1 but total repsect to you and DP for following through with it. It's all for a good cause. Your dd1 is a lovely girl bit sometimes mates at school can have such a strong influence so you have to make it worth their while to conform. You can't bribe them (it would never end) so discipline is the only way left....

Marmite - sorry to hear that you are suffering. Funnily enough (well not funny but ykwim) I had to take dd2 to hospital today to have her nears x-rayed. She managed to dislocate a knee cap over christmas just by swinging her legs under her on the sofa and now they both seem to hurt alot.. Hopefully it's nothing serious....weak knees seem to run in our family!

marmitemad · 28/01/2008 12:20

morning ladies,

have had the worst night ever in our house . Both dh & I up several times each to fight over the loo, dd woke screaming numerous times and about 30mins total sleep for me despite going to bed early at 10pm . really hope dd doesn't get our d & v bug and have decided to take her back to the osteopath for a check up visit. went to work to see if it helped me feel better but am going home to bed soon.

Egg - super well done on getting up and washed/dressed. hope the morning has gone well and your doula is looking after you & the babies.

Fred - hope dd2's knee is ok. a friend at work has given me copies of all the slimming world stuff today so will have a look at it tonight.

Phono - that is so lovely of dp's colleagues. so I am guessing he doesn't have any regular medication at the moment other than the tens for pain relief? Its good that it helps him as I tried one a few years ago on my knees but it did bugger all. dh was very surprised to see how much it helped me during labour.

Squonk - sounds like dd still had a good day although I think you are totally right to cancel the treats. do you think she has realised that she needs to change her behaviour? I prefer to use distraction techniques for my pain but find my heat pad and electric blanket most useful, I do take some painkillers on occasions (although my drs would prefer me to take them every day)along with the whole cocktail of other drugs. What sort of cake did you make? I need to start planning dd's birthday cakes although my mum has offered to buy one from a shop btu I would prefer to make them (spose it depends on how my joints are feeling).

marmitemad · 28/01/2008 12:21

oh and have now marked your wedding date on the wall planner in my office, so we can count down the weeks

fryalot · 28/01/2008 12:30

oh marmite! d & v bug sounds awful Poor you (sending cyber sympathy)

Dd1 knows that she missed out, and why. I think that fred had a point - dd1 does tend to get led along by others, but I can't control who she is mates with.

Her cake was a variation on Marslady's lemon drizzle cake - it was a lime drizzle with chocolate topping (delicious )

Egg · 28/01/2008 15:57

Oh my god marmite . You poor poor things. You are not having a good time of it lately at night... and surely you haven't gone into work after a night like that????

Today has gone ok so far for us, although DD has just started crying when she is supposed to be sleeping so I have stuck her in her chair down here and she is mewling ever so often.

Phono my heart was warmed by your DPs lovely colleagues . Crap though that he can't get one on the NHS...

Squonk am also v impressed that you were firm but fair with DD1. She still sounds like she had a nice day, and lots of great pressies, but just not as lovely a day as she could have had if she had been a good girl! I was led astray many a time by my friends , I was always the good one that they tried to corrupt .

Think it is going to piss down. Not the best for going out to get DS1. No idea how I can keep DS2 dry in carrier, DS1 refuses raincovers so will get soaked, and so will new pushchair . DD will be ok as as well as BIG raincover for whole pushchair also have individual raincovers for each car seat.

Will have to start getting ready soon, it takes ages to get everyone into their snowsuits and get DS2 strapped on.

Phono if we do arrange a meet up we can try for a weekend as would be FAB to meet you. We are all scattered all over, Squonk is the blardy awkward one as she is way oop north. Hopefully we can sort something one day...

Dropdeadfred · 28/01/2008 15:59

EGG!!! I am here too [sob]

OP posts:
fryalot · 28/01/2008 16:00

will be coming to visit my mum in the big, long summer holidays so am deffo up for a meet up in August

(and maybe before then as well)

egg - to keep ds2 dry?

Egg · 28/01/2008 16:07

Sorry FRED , I somehow missed your message earlier. Have you been to hospital yet? What was the result?

Don't worry I still love you, I didn't miss you out on purpose .

Ooooh a summer meet up would be so so lovely. I saw Brighton on tv the other day and and got all sentimental telling my doula that we had all met up there last summer and had a fab day. We can try for something like that again, although obviously Fred might be busy in the run up to the wedding and then maybe on honeymoon (Fred did we ask about this, are you going away at all???). Of course sorry silly me holidays are not til end of July anyway.

I am off to a wedding on 27 July, one of my lovely ante natal girls. She has two children now and is hiring a nanny or two to look after all the kids while we all get BLADDERED . Very exciting.

Ok it is really dark now. I think I need to find the raincovers . Thanks for umbrella, and of course if I had three hands I could in fact hold an umbrella over me and DS2 but with my two-stone DS1 I need all my strength to steer the pushchair round the corners.

Bugger, If I had left 5 mins ago I could have got back before the rain, but then DS1 would have missed his teatime at nursery.

fryalot · 28/01/2008 16:09

how silly of me, I should have thought about your lack of hands... have this instead

Dropdeadfred · 28/01/2008 16:19

No worries Egg..if I were you I wouldn't remember my on name at the moment let alone anything else...

Unfortunately I do not think I will be honeymooning this summer...
We may try and get away in October half-term instead.

Is there a reason why you can't drive to nursery Egg?

I always reminisce about our dayin Brighton whenever we have been there since..

OP posts:
fryalot · 28/01/2008 16:22

I see Brighton on the telly and get all gooey and reminiscey (and I got a question right on University Challenge once because I have been there )

Fred - have you been to the hospital?

Will you get someone to look after dd3 for the weekend at least so you can have a mini-honeymoon?
