ooohh a summer zappata meet up would be lovely. just name the date/place and dd & I will be there .

thanks for all the get well soon wishes. Spent the afternoon in bed and just had a lovely long bath before my Mum droped dd back home. Am starting to feel a little bit hungry so might attempt some dinner later.

I may well go to work tomorrow, depends on how I am feeling, will have to drop dd off at cm anyway although dh is petrified we have norovirus and she will get it too . Trouble is, I am a crap ill person and hate lying around in bed/on the sofa feeling sorry for myself.

Btw, MIL is coming on holiday to france with us (I wasn't asked if I minded ), can't quite make my mind up whether I'm pleased or not, does that make me a bad DIL?

Phono - I take 2 DMARDs (Methotrexate +folic acid & sulfasalazine), a NSAID, Tramadol for pain relief and amitriptyline to help me sleep (although it doesn't seem to be working at mo ). I always got on ok with the tablets before getting pg but the liquid seems to work better for me now usually (I can speak/think after waking up), it definately sounds like dp's drug combination isn't quite right for him.

Egg - I am at work Mon-Wed but would take a day off to come and see you all if that worked out better. CM is on hols 19/20th Feb so these dates would be good for me (although I know its ds1's bday on 20th so I guess you would be busy)? we usually have a music class on fridays but on half term on 22 Feb but again would be happy to miss this if Feb is too soon for us to descend on you?
Hope you didn't get too wet going down to the nursery, I'm sure you can get some sort of raincover for slings, so will have a hunt later.

Squonk - I love UC, will look forward to watching tonight .

Fred - I think it will be lovely to be able to look forward to the wedding and then an belated honeymoon. did you decide on a cake? I have been looking at lots of cake website this afternoon as can't decide whether to make or buy dd's birthday cake.

sorry for the mega post again, seem to be making up for lost time

Dropdeadfred · 28/01/2008 18:20

Cake? Did you ask about cake??

I am in luuuurve

I haven't convinced DP yet though, he thinks it's untraditional!

OP posts:
marmitemad · 28/01/2008 18:38

That cake is soooo fabulous, I think untraditional = more memorable, makes me want to get married again!!! did you need any help with sample tasting?????

Egg · 28/01/2008 19:31

BUGGER ME! That is a fabulous fabulous cake.

Just dropped in but DD seems to think two hours is enough between feeds despite managing four hours all day and feeding much better. She has not slept since last feed at 5:30. Either she will sleep like a log tonight, or be a nightmare due to overtiredness .

Dropdeadfred · 28/01/2008 21:17

Aww Egg, she sounds so cute...have you got any more recent pics of the two babes?

I must admit that cake looks like you could put on half a stone just looking at it...yum yum yum...

Thanks girls...you have all helped. I showed DP Marmite and Egg's responses last night and will show him yours tonight Phono.
Last night he said, 'what if it melts?' To which I could assure him that it is couriered in icepacked boxes and the venue will take care of it until we an it on display. Then he said 'what if it doesn't taste as nice as it looks?' to which i happily pointed out that weould nee dto order a sample!! If you buy an 8" cake and then proceed to order your wedding cake they deduct that off the price...heh heh!!

Wonder how many WW points are in just one look at that cake?

OP posts:
Egg · 29/01/2008 11:32

There is no way that wont taste good .

Sorry not to have been on earlier, been on Feb thread again and not here, I seem to take it in turns to chat, will be back on later. Dad coming in a mo, DS1 out for a walk with Julie, am cooking DS1's lunch whilst tidying up, and popping on to see you .

Maybe you could bring sample cake round here for me to check too? Your taste buds might not be working properly ......

fryalot · 30/01/2008 07:42

you can put sample cake in the post to Yorkshire as well, you know.

If you felt the need for a fourth opinion

Egg · 30/01/2008 08:54

Keep meaning to say to whoever asked if we could drive to nursery (was it Fred?), we could but it is quicker to walk and by the time I get the babies strapped into their car seats and get the car seats strapped into the car (no idea how to do that bit yet...), and get DS1 strapped into his car seat, then drive round the one-way system, park in the car park next to nursery, pay for 30 mins parking, unstrap everyone, have to CARRY both car seats with babies (unless I tried to ram pushchair in boot before leaving) and get DS to walk in the right direction to nursery, I think I will choose the walking! It is about a 5 min walk max, but you can't drive that way so have to go out into the one-way and round.

DS1 and DD both said they were hungry. DS1 has had two spoons of weetabix, DD has had less than a quarter of her milk and passed out. I want to wash my HAIR.

So how is everyone today?

marmitemad · 30/01/2008 08:58

Hello zappatas, all better in the marmite house now although my sister has coem down with it as well but don't think it was my cooking as we would all have been ill on sun night.

Egg - You are so organised to nhave sent out thank you notes already (it arrived this morning). I didn't get round to doing dd's until she was 8 weeks old . Sound's like you are managing really well with 3 children. Did you see my note below about dates for us to come and visit?

Fred - am so that you have convinced dp to get that cake, btw did you not know that WW points don't count on special days like weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, saturdays, sundays......

marmitemad · 30/01/2008 09:02

Egg - one way systems are such a pain and the walk/fresh air is probably good for all of you once you are packaged up! did you not get a new bigger car yet?

It is a lovely sunny day today here, wish I wasn't at work and did not have buggered joints so I could take dd for a lovely long walk somewhere nice.

fryalot · 30/01/2008 09:15

tis a very bright, sunshiney day here too, marmite, but very, very cold. They said it will snow here tomorrow and I wouldn't be surprised if it comes today instead.

Know what you mean about one way systems - there is one near us (well, I say near, I mean about 30 miles away ) and if I get stuck in it, it could be hours before I'm out again!

If we're still talking zappata meet ups, apparently my nephew is getting confirmed on 1st June and we have been summoned to mum's for that. Tis half term the week before so we will be in the general Daaaaahn Saaaaarf area for the last week of May if anyone wants to get together then? If not, we'll still be coming down in August, I imagine.

Dropdeadfred · 30/01/2008 10:15

Hi all...

Egg, sorry I had in my head a vision of you driving into the nursery carpark and the nice staff bringing ds1 (in his coat and hat etc) to your car door and placing him inside....dream on eh?

I'm really suprised noone has come up with a sling or baby carrier for teeny twins...it would be so useful.

I hope you get to wash your hair, I hate it when I've hadto leave mine unwashed for any reason.

Squonk, I couldn't promise it wouldn't be an empty envelope if I sent you a sample..

Marmite, now I just have to clear it with the venue that they have room to store all the cakes for a couple of days before the wedding!!!! Then I shall be ordering it straight away!!!

GUESS WHAT!!! I lost 4lbs this week!! And I haven't been an angel either!!!

OP posts:
Dropdeadfred · 30/01/2008 10:16

Oh and Squonk, of course we would like to meet you whenever you're down here!!

OP posts:
fryalot · 30/01/2008 10:32

4lbs!!! well done

(just goes to show that looking at delicious cakes doesn't put weight on you )

Egg · 31/01/2008 10:36

Hmm, sadly not the case Fred, although the nursery staff are lovely, it is right on a road (big garden out the back though) and although there is a car park next door it is an NCP type one and not visible from door of nursery......

4lbs!!!!!!!!! That's almost a whole DD when she was born! In one week . You must be very proud.

Had a hideous night last night, it was one of those nights that I thought every night would be like, and I was awake from 12-5am, and then up again at 6:15. Will go back to bed once DD has had next feed (due some time in next half hour I think). Hoping it was a one-off night and not the shape of things to come .

Still, I managed to get DS1 to nursery, with babies in tow, in the middle of a rainstorm, and I survived! DS2 was wailing for 10 mins before we left and DS1 went and gave him a stroke and a cuddle and he stopped crying and went back to sleep . I told everyone at nursery what a great big bro he is .

Egg · 31/01/2008 10:48

Have added some new pics to my profile .

fryalot · 31/01/2008 11:07

beautiful pics, egg

Happy three week birthday J & R

poor you on the sleep front. I can testify that even if they don't sleep well, it doesn't last forever

Dropdeadfred · 31/01/2008 16:42

Awwwwwwwwwwww Egg...they are sooo gorgeous!!!

Sorry abut your sleepless night..sre you and DP sharing the nightfeeding?

OP posts:
Egg · 31/01/2008 19:46

Thanks girls [smug].

Not exactly sharing nights... Basically DH gets home from work about now (he is in fact late today and one baby is stirring so I hope he blardy gets here soon) and he does any feeds until he goes to bed about 10:30, then I take over. Usually they will have fed some time about 9 or 10 so it means I get to sleep until midnight or so. Tonight could be interesting though if one is stirring now, as will mean next feed could be due 3 hours later, and I will have to start at 11pm . Praying for better night tonight as v little catch up sleep in day today.

Am logging off now so I can go to bed in GOOD TIME.

fryalot · 01/02/2008 08:15

hello, good morning and all that. Does anyone mind if I just have a proud mummy moment?

okay here goes...

are you sitting comfortably?

DD1 got a glowing report from all of her teachers. Even the one who said that she needs to try waaaaaaay harder (Maths) said that she was well behaved, polite and a dream to have in the class. They all mentioned last year's problems, but said that she seems to have come out the other side and they all said that if she carries on as she is (as she is) she will get some good GCSEs. They said that if she puts in a leeetle bit more effort she is capable of getting As.

Told you all she was an angel really.

(or actually, I might not have, I might have just whinged about how horrible she is, but I meant to tell you all that she is an angel)

Egg · 01/02/2008 09:03

Squonk you must be soooooooooooo happy. I am feeling really proud of your DD1 and I have only met her for a few hours. Bless her, I bet she is over the moon too. Did you give her lots of praise, or are you saving some for when she gets those As? (I only got one A ).

Got to go now but back later....

fryalot · 01/02/2008 09:09

She got tons and tons of praise last night, and we both told her we were really proud of her - doubly proud because it must have been difficult for her to put the bad behaviour behind her.

Promised her a big treat at weekend and sent her off to school this morning with yet more praise.

(also managed to promise her a pink mini with gold stripes if she gets into Oxford - not me being pushy, another child mentioned it last night and she asked me if she could go to Oxford!)
