I was reminded that last year I had a plaintive thread asking where I could find DS (then 6) a toy graveyard

this year DD (3.5) has asked for a wind-up guinea pig

and I see Boco's DD (also 3) would like a goat

what requests make you larf

If she can't have a goat she wants a real life dinosaur. I don't think she has any idea how dangerous that would be

When my brother was six he wrote to Jim'll Fix it and asked if he could stuff a shark.

This has no real place on this thread, but i had the burning need to share it.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 05/12/2007 15:02

Your brother's Damian Hirst, right, Boco?

SnowMuchToBits · 05/12/2007 15:04

I took my children to the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam when they were 4, 2 and 1 month old. The older two were allowed to spend a few guilders in the shop on a print for their rooms - I was thinking little chair painting, sunflowers, etc.

www.vggallery.com/painting/p_0212.htm is what my 4 yr old son chose, and would not dissuaded from. Weird kid.

Last year my DD asked for some slippers and a new swimming costume - I was touched that at 7 yrs old she was unmotivated by the more commercial aspect of Christmas.

This year she's asked for a Nintendo DS - the times they are a-changing....
