I was reminded that last year I had a plaintive thread asking where I could find DS (then 6) a toy graveyard

this year DD (3.5) has asked for a wind-up guinea pig

and I see Boco's DD (also 3) would like a goat

what requests make you larf

ds (3.2) wants a baby duck.

A real one.

HE has asked for this for birthdays and christmas for well over a year now.

Sadly he will be disapointed again.

Dd2 (3) has aske for a duck for Christmas.

Afetr questioning she was adamant that it cannot be a soft one or a hard one (pottery, I preume). Only a one with feathers.

When dd1 was 3 she asked for envelopes and stamps.

ipodtherforipoor · 05/12/2007 21:21

DS age 2 wants a cuckoo clock - after much googling I found a suitable one

boo64 · 05/12/2007 21:38

ds age 2.5 wants an 'oof off car' which means a convertible. But he insists it has to be a real one not a toy....my xmas present budget doesn't quite stretch that far.

controlfreaky2 · 05/12/2007 21:40

ds2 (8) wants a sausage dog which must be brown and cute and must be called biscuit socks...... no chance.

lilolilbethlehem · 05/12/2007 21:41

Hilarious thread! When my DS was 2 1/2, his entire Christmas wish list was a Tots TV bubble bath and a 99 with "twirly ice cream" and 2 flakes in it

pepperpots · 05/12/2007 21:42

"To be a big lady like mummy!" - Ds1!!!!!

Rhubarb · 05/12/2007 21:42

dd wanted balloons for ages - her favourite toy she used to say! Then it progressed onto a ball pool.

whomovedmychocolate · 05/12/2007 21:45

Never mind the kids, DH asked if he could have 'one of those strap on headlight things'. I don't know if he wants to do a spot of amateur gynaecology or he's planning on tunneling to the pub!

TripleyXmasTippleTigger · 05/12/2007 21:47

A measuring tape like daddy and a potato?!!

IdrisYouaMerryChristmas · 05/12/2007 21:47

DD (2.2) wants "a pink polar bear" and says DS (4) can have "a blue one".

DS would like a double suspension bridge for his train track and maybe some Thomas slippers

JackieNoel · 05/12/2007 21:51

DD (7) wrote a Christmas list out for DS (3) - apparently he wants 'siverser', which, translated, turns out to be 'scissors'. So not a particularly strange request, but a very creative spelling.

smartiejake · 05/12/2007 22:03

dd2 was three when she said she wanted a barbie jigsaw. Could we find one? Could we hell! In the end dh cut out a picture from a comic, stuck in onto another jigsaw then painstakingly cut it out. We then found some lovely wrapping paper for the box and stuck another picture on the top.

What a palarver!! But her reaction when she opened it on christmas day was lovely. It was the best thing since sliced bread.

whostuffedmystockings · 05/12/2007 22:20

Smartiejake - hate to tell you this, but they sell them in woolies

RosaLuxMundi · 05/12/2007 22:29

Two years ago DD1, who was eight at the time asked for 'new batteries for my walkman'.

This year she says 'I've got lots of stuff, I don't need anything'.

DD2 has asked Santa for a Nintendo DS 'but I now it corsts a lot of mony so it is OK if I don't get it.

DD3 has cut out every single picture in the Argos catalogue and painstakingly glued them to her list just to make sure Santa is in no doubt.

The mind boggles at what would happen should I ever have a fourth child.

spanielsmom · 05/12/2007 22:44

My ds - 2.8 - wants a Dalek.

He thinks he saw a real one in a shop in town - one of those movie collectors shops. I was so surprised to find out that he knows all about Dr Who (the CM's daughter is a mad fan apparently and he has been surfing the web with her) and I refuse to buy him any Dr Who characters - so he is getting the Dalek Bubblebath and he will have to be happy with that.

DontCallMeSantaBaby · 05/12/2007 22:45

DD wants a 'singer', which turns out not to be a sewing machine (shame, someone in the house capable of fixing a hem would have been handy) but a microphone.

Friend's DD wants, amongst other things, a plastic bottle of water. I guess the floods and subsequent water shortage had a profound effect on her.

saffy202 · 05/12/2007 22:47

When ds2 was at nursery he wrote a letter asking for a scarf and a sleeping bag

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 05/12/2007 22:47

OMG, I remember the graveyard request! How time flies!

Ds1 is just 4, and has requested a sarcophagus to keep in our house

soapbox · 05/12/2007 22:49

My DS who is 7YO, has asked for a chocolate river in his room - I think this is just an attempt to trump his sister who wants a chocolate fountain - or perhaps he has watched too much Charlie and the Choco factory

smartiejake · 05/12/2007 22:51

Whosuffedmystockings- this was 6 years ago and we couldn't find them anywhere!

onebatmother · 06/12/2007 13:05

dd (2) wants apple juice.
this is her response to any question she doesn't know answer to

eg which animals have stripes? apple juice

Nymphadora · 06/12/2007 13:20

dd1 last year asked for lessons (she was 7) this year she wants a book on fish & tigers!

MamaD · 06/12/2007 13:38

My dd (2.9) wanted a dolls house - not an unusual request, and one I was happy to comply with .......... however, she then said "and it must have a family and a girl like me and a brown girl and a dinosaur"

"a dinousaur dd? They don't live in houses" I replied.

"yes they do and I only want a dinosaur, please mummy, oh and a yoghurt"

I really don't get where her mind wanders off to........

(mind you, better than last year when she asked for a 'billadder' - nope, never did work that one out)
