I know, just a shock, a lil baby, why??

it also brings back memories of when my best friends baby died at 4 months, DH didn't know him either, and had to support me through it, just as I will him.

oh mieow - big hugs to you - theres nothing worse than the reality of every parents worst nightmare. Be strong for dh when he gets home. We're all with you on this one

I was saying just before DH phoned his friend, that it was my worse nightmare, and she was living, not knowing if her son would survive or not

Can you get someone else to pick up DD2 or get a taxi?

mieow · 04/11/2004 13:10

I have to pick up DD2 and then shot to DS's school, pick him up and be back in time for DD1s taxi that comes at 3:30

Big hugs mieow, what a dreadful dreadful thing to happen.
Where is DD to? Can you call them and let them know you may be a little late or ask a friend to drop her off?

zephyrcat · 04/11/2004 13:13

ring ds's school and explain whats happened and that you may be a little late. They will look after him till you get there. Also prob best to re-arrange the other taxi if you can?

zephyrcat · 04/11/2004 13:14

Or go and pick them all up early today

mieow · 04/11/2004 13:15

she is at preschool

Oh no, mieow. That poor family.

Lonelymum · 04/11/2004 13:16

Very sorry to hear your news. You don't really think it happens these days, even though you hear about cot death, etc. Surely someone else could help with picking up your children?

mieow · 04/11/2004 13:18

my mum is coming to help me, my dad will sit here and wait for DD2 in her taxi, and mum will help me get the other two, I just hope DS' wheelchair fits in her car.

mieow · 04/11/2004 13:19

i feel all foggy and know my house work needs doing, but am trying to stay together

OP posts:
Lonelymum · 04/11/2004 13:21

If I were you, I would just want to go and get my children and hug them very close. Don't do the housework just because you think it should be done. This is a terrible, momentous occasion and it wouldn't be wrong to just sit and cry.

zephyrcat · 04/11/2004 13:22

Good to hear that your mum and dad are coming to help you out. I cant this this out of my head. I'm not a religious person but can't help feeling we should all say a little prayer for the family.

mieow · 04/11/2004 13:25

I want my kids too, but my mum said to leave them at school, nursey and preschool. I wouldn't be able to explain to DS why he has come out of school early anyway

OP posts:
Lonelymum · 04/11/2004 13:38

Yes your mum is right. Better to keep things normal for your children. Give them a big hug this evening though! I will mine.
