Nigella, i used pepper, to stop my cat peeing on the carpet (she had a particular corner of our lounge!!!) it worked a treat after a week or so of putting pepper down - 4 years later she has never ever dared wee in the house and she certainly hasn't been damaged by the experience.

There are times when a little "training" needs to take place for all animals, as well as us humans! I really don't see how pepper is cruel, it has to be something they don't like so they stop going there!

Pixiefish - i didn't realise, i'll peer over my neighbours fence tomorrow and see how many i can spot! lol

JoolsToo · 30/10/2004 23:25

I'm a cat-etarian

Skate · 30/10/2004 23:26

NOT ME!!!

Yeah, it seemed wierd that her last post was a bit more lighthearted!

Oh come on, who was it?!

blossomhill · 30/10/2004 23:26

Cat poo can be dangerous to young children though. I remember a couple of years ago I forgot to put the lid back on the sandpit. Dd was in the garden playing in the sandpit and a cat had pooed in it. Fortunately I managed to get it before it went near dd but it was disgusting. I then had to thrown all of the sand away (about 4 bags worth). Clean and disinfect the sandpit. I was not happy

you can buy (this is not a joke!)lion poo to spread in the garden.I think its in powdered form and you sprinkle it round and it scares the cats away.I don't know how they know it's lion poo or where they get it from but apparently it works.

nigella77 · 30/10/2004 23:27

Coppertop - it's alright! UH-OH was because I thought it was 'kicking off'!

I'm in a bit of a mad mood tonight.

My dd picked cat poo out of our cats litter tray when we had just moved house (and couldn't let cat in garden). She walked up to me smiling and had poo smeared all around her mouth - she thought she had been lucky enough to find a bit of chocolate lying around.

She has not caught any deadly diseases. ( i know its different for pregnant women and i'm not knocking that)

Now before any of you jump to conclusions i have a very tidy house, and am v conscious of keeping it clean and do my best to keep an eye on dd so i don't need to report me to ss or anything.

this thread just reminded me of the dreadful day!

Skate · 30/10/2004 23:32

O-M-G!!!!

blossomhill · 30/10/2004 23:34

I just hate cats and cat poo. There I have said it now. Sorry if I offended any one.

misdee · 30/10/2004 23:35

i like cats. as long as they dont poo in my garden or cause my dd to have an asthma attack. years ago i adored cats, but now am very wary of them.
