Guffaw!

Was just thinking about typing 'shoot them?', then thought 'oooh, no, best not, will get lynched' then scrolled down to see others have suggested it!

Have you tried 'catapult' - no joke, it exists! We used it in London as we had a gravel front yard.

misdee · 30/10/2004 23:03

whats catapult. sounds fun lol.

this is my 1st garden, and as am pregnant and dd's allergic to cats as well really dont want them in my garden.

It comes in a bottle like antibacterial spray or windowlene or shower shine! White bottle with orange label I think and it's called 'cat-a-pult'!!

If you can't get it in supermarkets maybe you can get it from B&Q type place - years since i used it but it does work!

pixiefish · 30/10/2004 23:06

yuch and dangerous for you as well being pg.
cat's are renowned for going in other gardens rather than their own Fran1- don't like sh*ing on its own doorstep so to speak (sorry to be so frank)

I am sure that if you put old cds in the ground or on string in on the fence, the cats get scared off. Or is that something else

misdee · 30/10/2004 23:07

might have to colelct freebie aol cd's and string them on the back fence.

OP posts:
Skate · 30/10/2004 23:08

cds??? condoms?!?

Skate · 30/10/2004 23:08

OH Compact Discs?!?!?

Skate · 30/10/2004 23:08

Why would CDs scare off cats?

pixiefish · 30/10/2004 23:09

skate

nigella77 · 30/10/2004 23:09

Can't understand why everyone is moaning about cats - they don't understand boundaries and are only doing a natural function - besides they nearly always bury it - people are far to territorial - you should all leave these graceful creatuires alone

mieow · 30/10/2004 23:09

something to do with reflection, like I said I could be wrong!

misdee · 30/10/2004 23:12

nigella, because i cant clear it up as am prenant, and my kids like to play in the garden without stepping in poo.

i do liek cats, but am fed up with clearing up someone elses pets mess. maybe we should let dogs run free ande poop everywhere?

broken eggshells has worked for me

nigella77 · 30/10/2004 23:14

I just think cruelty and chemicals is not the answer - us humans do far more harmful things than cats (or dogs)

misdee · 30/10/2004 23:15

cruelty and chemicals? when is curry/pepper chemicals?

OP posts:
Skate · 30/10/2004 23:16

Broken eggshells? What about upside down drawing pins?

nigella77 · 30/10/2004 23:17

Curry and pepper are both highly refined in household form and are more potent than found naturally - animals have very sensitive noses - how would you like a spoon of pepper up your nose

JoolsToo · 30/10/2004 23:17

nigella - but we don't poo in other peoples gardens

misdee · 30/10/2004 23:18

lol skate. not very id frioendly. dd2 wouldnt tell me if she was hurt. as she doesnt feel pain as easily as some kids, i think her spiking herself on drawing pins is a no-no.

thats another reason i dont want poo in my garden. dd2 ended up with infected feet voer the summer after palying the garden and cutting her toes (she had sandels on) even tho i cleaned her cuts as soon as i spotted them. tho they must have been cut for about 20 mins as they were beginning to scab already.

Do you think a cat knows its someones garden ???
We only borrow this planet from the animals

misdee · 30/10/2004 23:20

i'll ust let my dd's out the back gate and wander into someone elses garden and poop there.............

OP posts:
nigella77 · 30/10/2004 23:20

My DH rekons the best solution to the problem might be to teach the cat a lesson - find out where it lives and take a dump in its litter tray - that'll teach it !!!

Skate · 30/10/2004 23:20

Uh-oh

JoolsToo · 30/10/2004 23:22

borrowed the planet from animals!!??? wot? can you explain please?
