Its TWINS?

I didn't understand what that meant at first!
The conversation I was about to have when I picked up the phone that day was supposed to be sooooo different. I was prepared for that conversation because I made notes after last nights conversation. This conversation (taken in a meeting room at work, around 2pm, PRE-LOCKDOWN) was supposed to include no babies...
We have a 4 year old boy and have just had a baby girl who was 1 years old in July 20.
... This conversation was always going to be sad, heart-breaking and soul destroying but I expected it and we discussed it, planned it and prepared for it...

She called me coming out of the clinic saying she can't do it... Its TWINS!

OP posts:

Do you have TWINS?!

Collision · 09/10/2020 08:19

@PleasantVille I was hoping he was just knackered and confused.....

.......as indeed we all are.

Itisbetter · 09/10/2020 08:21

No I think a four year old, a one year old, and newborn twins?

You do sound a bit frazzled OP. What exactly are you struggling with?

waitrosetrollydolly · 09/10/2020 08:24

All actions have a consequence... note to others... these early years with lots of small children will make or break you... Someone pass this man a band aid and the number of a childcare professional or two who can help.

Scweltish · 09/10/2020 08:28

What the actual fuck is going on?? Am I still asleep??

SoupDragon · 09/10/2020 08:30
@SoupDragon Pausing!! is that I real option!! Wow If I could pause life I would do so much. Probably no.1 = Holiday, 2 - Run away! lol
If you have time to post incoherently on Mumsnet, you have time to pause and gather your thoughts.

sqirrelfriends · 09/10/2020 08:36
@PurpleDaisies You obviously have alot of time on your hands. Thanks for your advice!
Not as much as you seem to. Your posting a lot for someone who supposedly has 4 kids demanding his attention.

tattychicken · 09/10/2020 08:58

I think his wife was booked in for a termination but couldn't go through with it when she found out it was twins. But I'm confused too. You booked a table for dinner afterwards? Hmm

Wow OP you have such an amazing life, what with TWINS!!! The SUV!!! The hecticness and the excitement!!!

Seems like you just don't have the capability to engage with others you're so caught up in your own LIFE!!!

daisychain01 · 09/10/2020 09:10

@sqirrelfriends I think he's taken a leaf out of his kids' book, with the demanding attention an' all !!!

ThatLibraryMiss · 09/10/2020 09:13

And when his "better half" was discharged from the hospital with their new TWINS!!! he surprised her with his new car. Amazingly, the plan to present the important and exciting new arrival to the family* didn't go down as well as he expected.
 • The car, silly.
Itisbetter · 09/10/2020 09:17

I’m confused

lilsquish · 09/10/2020 09:23

OP, when you buy something you have 'bought' it.

when you bring something you have 'brought' it.

EdwardCullensBiteOnTheSide · 09/10/2020 09:25

It's always twins isn't it 🙄

Leimarel · 09/10/2020 09:38

I had 4 kids under 5 but no TWINS. I also wasn't drinking whisky at 5am and typing incoherently on mumsnet. I was too damn busy trying to keep everyone healthy and happy in between breastfeeding the baby and taking/collecting the others from nursery, playgroup and primary school.

I can appreciate the OP reaching out for online support though. It's helpful to interact with other adults.

Itisbetter · 09/10/2020 09:48

I had four under 5, and indeed TWINS!!! No whiskey was forthcoming.

MiaowMix · 09/10/2020 09:54

So are you saying if it wasn't TWINS your wife (sorry, MISSES) would have had an abortion? Is it that you can't abort TWINS? Confused

Or are you not saying that?

Because you are unable to convey any sense or meaning in your words. English is not your first language, I take it?

Incoherent babble. All served up with a side of anti-abortion rhetoric.

Cringing for you. 🤢

user19990 · 09/10/2020 09:59

OP do you have 4 kids and your wife is pregnant again ? Is that what this is about?

user19990 · 09/10/2020 10:00

If so, snip snip ✂️

Itisbetter · 09/10/2020 10:08

Why do you say that @user19990 ? Angry please don’t tell the OP to sterilise himself because you have decided his family is too large.

Also I think your comprehension skills are lacking. OP has 4 children, two of whom are newborns.

CatsAndEyeliner · 09/10/2020 10:11

My better half charges down the stairs to find out whats going on, obviously! I haven't even had time to react... I just watch it all unfold in front of me.
She had time to get all the way downstairs but you hadn’t had time to even put your whiskey down?

It's not like I have bitten off more than I can chew because ..... I AM MAN!!!

Hmm
user19990 · 09/10/2020 10:12

@Itisbetter it's for the best if his drinking at 6 in the morning

Itisbetter · 09/10/2020 10:16

It’s not ok whatever his life choices. The mans reproductive decisions are his own.

user19990 · 09/10/2020 10:16

@Itisbetter I think your taking this thread way to serious

Thisisnotnormal69 · 09/10/2020 10:18

Huh???
