Cadbury - hope you don't mind me doing this, but feel some good old mn support and cyberhugs might help you get through the next fortnight!

Cadder's dh is going off on business tomorrow and she'll be coping alone with dd and ds. With her birthday falling during that time you can imagine how she might be feeling!! So can we all get together and help keep the lovely Cadder's chin up and let her know we're thinking of her, her dh (while he's away) and her family! Thank you in advance mners and can we bump this up lots too over the coming fortnight!

Hi Cadbury
Just seen this and wondered how you are doing? One week nearly over. I hate being on my own it always throws me into a panic but fortuantely it doesn't happen very often. Have yet another hug from a total stranger!!!!!

kkgirl · 21/10/2004 14:46

Cadbury

Hi how are you getting along. Sounds like you are coping very well, and most of the week gone by.
Keep going, I know it seems like forever, but I'm always grateful I've got the kids, they make the time pass quick, and certainly keep you busy!!

melsy · 21/10/2004 19:12

Aero · 27/10/2004 21:59

Well Cadders - you've probably gone to bed now, but was just thinking you're halfway through the second week so not long to go now!! Hope dd has calmed down a bit and ds is feeling better.

You around tonight Cadders? Flippin keyboard gave up there for a while - could it have been the thunderstorm?! Weird!

Wotch Aero, et al.
I'm here. Well into my 3rd glass of red, and the packet of liquorice. Doing ok. The thundre storm had me but jittery but ok now. No damage to ceilings as far as I can see. We lost our internet connection earlier too. I just unplugged it and plugged it back in again and it worked fine. Scarey moment though! Nearly had to do my ironing!!!!!

Dh home on Sunday afternoon sometime. Had an interesting day in Canterbury today. Now very tired and really should be going to bed but never mind.
How are you Aero?

Aero · 28/10/2004 22:11

Good thanks - should really go and prepare picnic for tomorrow's lunch - hoping to take the squad up to the science museum!! Thought mn was off for the night there - verrrrry scary thought, but was fine again on re-booting!

Cadbury · 28/10/2004 22:15

Science museum! Very brave! We wanted to do that in the summer hols but decided it would be too young for dd. It's one of my favourite places though.
I was to be meeting womba1 tomorrow but she has other exciting fish to fry to we've postponed it.

Aero · 28/10/2004 22:23

Hope the weather is better for you then whatever you do instead! Went to Riverside Park today - was lovely and missed the rain. Had little picnic and good walk in the wind! Friend's (who you've met) ds rolled in dog poo though so not so nice end to an othwerwise lovely afternoon.
Dh out tonight exercising his elbow locally with a mate so it's me and the pc and on 2nd glass of red!

cADBURY

How are you? Is it tomorrow when dh comes back?

Aero · 30/10/2004 14:09

Not sure what Cadbury's up to today, but her dh is due home tomorrow. These two weeks have seemed v long to her with kids being ill/difficult etc, so she'll be delighted to see him.

Stripymouse · 30/10/2004 14:22

Bet you are feeling on a high knowing that he is so very nearly home. Hope you have plenty planned for tomorrow....

Cadbury · 30/10/2004 14:47

Hi all. Thanks for checking in on me. Yes, It's tomorrow afternoon sometime he'll be back. Can't wait. It has been a very long 2 weeks. DD hasn't coped very well without her dad and her moods have turned on a sixpence. I'm pretty stressed too which means we clash all the more. DS seems over his cold and cough for the most part but there is still the threat of teething each day. He has been very grizzly the last few days.
Aero, I hope your ds2 is feeling better - did it turn into anything? Did you have a nice day out yesterday?

Aero · 30/10/2004 18:49

Had a lovely day yestersay - went to the London Aquarium. Kids totally loved it and dd made a friend as soon as we got there. She and her lovely Russian Grandma stayed with us all the way round then the girls wouldn't be parted without dd giving her our phone no. (Gr'ma couldn't remember theirs), then a big hug and we went our separate ways.
Pizza Express for us before heading home.
Ds is a bit grizzly still, but nothing obvious comes to mind - maybe teeth. Was up loads last night - me and dh are knackered!! Both have sore throats and dh feels really rubbish!

Cadbury · 31/10/2004 18:53

HE'S HOME!!!!

He had a tiring journey back but it's so good to have hm home and in one piece. DD's mood has noticably lightened and after some initial sleepy confusion, ds has been doing a lot of cuddling with his dad.
I wanted to say a huge thankyou to the mumsnetters who have thought of us and checked in to see how we are doing. I felt so much more supported this trip (I wasn't a mumsnetter the last time he was away).
I would like to say a very special thankyou to Aero who has shown incredible friendship and love. I'm lucky to have you around Aero . Knowing about all my self-destruct tendencies, you have made sure I've felt supported all the time. You are fab.
This is the lovelier side of mumsnet.
