On the flip side to Gumdrops thread.

I love the John Smiths adverts - particularly the diving one "great bombing".

Just seen the new add for the Pru - didn't make me want to take out a policy, but did make me cry. Mother daughter thing with last line " Just when you work out how to be a good mother- she's no longer a child"

spacemonkey · 11/10/2002 15:20

Haven't seen that one yet prufrock, but i think it'll make me cry too when i do - too true i'm afraid.

TheGrinch · 16/12/2003 21:27

Someone just mentioned the Mr Kipling one to me in an email - what happens in it?

WiShuaMerryXmas · 16/12/2003 21:31

Love the Archers ads, 'something for the ladies'. Dead funny

...Must get in the bath, am supposed to be watching Monsters Ball with DH at 9.45 !

TinselDragon · 16/12/2003 22:04

Mr Kipling one... you see a full on TV style hospital birth (you know the sort, very vocal!) then you get a few clues like them saying "come on Mary, push!" and the camera pans out to show a tinsel star dangling on a fishing rod over the bed, you see horrified members of the audience and then a vicar eating a cake. Someone asks him "Has Mr Kipling ever directed a Nativity play before?" to which the reply is, of course, "No, but he does make exceedingly good cakes."

Festivefly · 16/12/2003 22:21

I meant archers!!!!!!!! Not bacardi,(isn't that with vinny jones, no no no) Archers its hilarious, and he's not bad in the slightest

Breadsauce · 16/12/2003 22:24

Spacemonkey me too
I feel like he should say 'Are you so hideous that people tun their heads away? Well call now, there's safety in numbers'
And why do they put it on in between the kids' shows?

Furball · 17/12/2003 20:59

I like the one, can't remember what for (hows that for advertising??) Where a chap's at the birth and he's saying "push, push", then he says -"you'll have to be quick my batteries going to run out." The camera then pans out to show him in the pub watching it on his mobile phone!

codswallop · 17/12/2003 20:59
