Maida Vale. Just to make it difficult.

Herne Hill! Well, I'm in a predicament now. Berkhamsted.

NotCornflakes · 14/02/2018 19:36

This is getting very tricky. Rarely have I had the pleasure of being up against players of such calibre - bravo everyone! Not many options open to me but Archway.

wheresmyphone · 14/02/2018 20:00

Cornfkakes can only assume you are distracted, or drunk , or both.....Archway WTF????? I go with Gunnersbury....you can start the applause now.

Andrewofgg · 14/02/2018 20:34

Cornflakes is a teetotaller - and I know whereof I speak. From Gunnersbury to Canons Park of course, but may I remind everyone that the third Thursday of the month is nigh . . . so watch your step.

So it is Andrew, so I shall proceed with caution to Aldgate East.

JudgeRulesNutterButter · 14/02/2018 23:35

In before the Thursday thruppence rules put us all in blitz-twixt-the-sheets mode- I did peep outside to check the state of the moon tonight, but as it’s cloudy I’ll have to go for Waterloo.

ForalltheSaints · 15/02/2018 06:56

I thank Andrewofgg for reminding us of the rule that means I am not in Nidd.

Clouds seem to have gone. So I shall make the short move to Temple.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 15/02/2018 11:41

Skin of your teeth there Saints. Phew.
I'm throwing caution to the wind and venturing outside the metropolis. (Because sometimes it's wise) northward Ho, and an apposite choice of Sheffield Brightside.(given the weather)

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 15/02/2018 11:45

Then it's a small hop to Chesterfield.

NotCornflakes · 15/02/2018 12:36

Thank you Andrew for clarifying that I am now a teetotaller. Although I think the amber nectar did play a significant part in my victory in Mumbai in '78 so I have no regrets. Well, I sometimes do regret turning down all the proposals of marriage I received that day. I'm sure I could have lived very happily as the Maharajah's wife, although it would have curtailed play somewhat.
But enough about my mis-spent youth and back to the game! I'm going to do something I've never done before (can't say that often these days!) and deploy the Cambrian connection rule to take us to Radyr.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 15/02/2018 13:30

From whence I can gambol lightly to Cardiff Queen Street.

MaudAndOtherPoems · 15/02/2018 13:47

Ta dah!

Birmingham Snow Hill

Andrewofgg · 15/02/2018 16:39

And today’s thaw takes us to Rainham.

My lips are sealed about Mumbai ‘78. So is the safe deposit box where I have stowed the negatives, the signed confessions, the Bishop’s underwear, and the DNA.

OP posts:
ForalltheSaints · 15/02/2018 18:25

I think you can still use an Oyster card somewhere near Rainham, even with the orange faces so beloved of some in the champion cricket county. My lips are too sealed about Mumbai 78 (or Bombay 78 as it was known then).

I am going to return westwards to Westferry DLR.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 15/02/2018 18:48

I think I may have to plump for Westminster.

MaudAndOtherPoems · 15/02/2018 19:23

An astute move, in all the circumstances.

Dungeness

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 15/02/2018 19:27

Beltring.

Andrewofgg · 15/02/2018 19:34

Let's try something subtly unusual - or do I mean unusually subtle, I must ask the Chief Constable when she gets back with the Chinese takeaway and the bottle of Old and Filthy.

I refer of course to Birkenhead and I invoke Perkins's Proviso before any clever clogs gets ideas above, if you will pardon the pun, their station.

OP posts:
NotCornflakes · 15/02/2018 20:57

I'll take advantage of it being the 15th day of an even-numbered month and use the triple B rule to take us not to Bombay but to Barassie.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 15/02/2018 21:06

I fancy a wander to Alltnabreac.

ForalltheSaints · 15/02/2018 21:13

I think that somewhere with a few more people to have a wee dram before retiring to bed is called for and so shuffle back down to Dingwall. I think one of Maud's ex-husbands lives there now but he is nowhere to be seen.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 15/02/2018 21:22

Is that the one with the wooden leg? And a half-hitch to IBM Village.

SuffolkNWhat · 15/02/2018 21:39

Interesting move which means that waylines and defunct stations become playable for the remainder of the game therefore I propose a sneaky move to Preston Park with Mornington Crescent in 4 moves.

Andrewofgg · 15/02/2018 22:01

Fat chance. Bristol Parkway and that’s your plan stymied.

I thought Maud’s ex in Dingwall was the one with the tattoo of the last moments of the Titanic on his right buttock - or am I thinking of one of MummyPingu’s vast battalion? It’s so hard to tell them apart.

OP posts:
PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 15/02/2018 22:42

Or, indeed, to remember them all.

I shall move laterally to Bath Spa.
