Yesterday I went out with DSs and a friend and her DS we had a lovely day, fed the swans, played mini golf, had a nice lunch then stopped off at the play park.
Boys playing nicely, when in come 2 Vicki Pollard look alikes and their offspring.
Cha as they come, Kids have matted hair and are snotty and the mothers have greasy hair pulled in to pony tails and ad skin and look like if they could spell the word diet they would die of shock.
So the kids start to play and the mums sit eating Mc'Donalds meals and moaning that it was not as nice as the one they had yesterday and telling one of the kids to F off for asking for a chip.

Anyway one of the girls pushes over friends DS who is 3 and my DS2 tells her that she must not do that as its not nice.
So fat mum one turns to fat mum 2 and says if he has a go at her again i'll smack him one so I give her my best you really think so you dirty ho look and she gets back to stuffing her fat face with minced feet.

About 10 minuets later we are getting ready to leave and DS2 falls over and starts to cry, comes running to me with scuffed up hands and knees, so fat mum 2 turns round and says for fuck sake shut up. so brushing down DS2 i say to him come on DS2 lets leave Vicki pollard to it (as she sits rolling her own fag) (could they get any more pikey) so she looks at me and I smle sweetly and walk off.
DS1 said mummy that woman was very rude, what if she had hit DS2 would you have hit her?
And you know what I would have done n a heartbeat. But like all weebles i think she would have wobbled but not fell down.

I hate people like that.
RANT OVER, nothing to see here go about your business.

i missed someone calling you a nazi, not nice either

Cashncarry · 05/04/2007 12:31

yeah, "and my best friend's black so I can't be racist"...

Kimi - you're losing the plot of the tread somewhat. I don't think anybody actually called you a nazi. Everyone's taken great pains to point out that although you might have had a point about their behaviour, your language to them and to us was highly objectionable.

I think the bell tolled for your point of view when you started to bring in your views on gypsies and all your little friends started joining in. I'm afraid most of what's been said is leaving a really bad taste in my mouth.

It's a shame because had you used different language we'd have all been giving you sympathy and ranting with you...

warthog · 05/04/2007 12:31

yes, me too mi. however it is fairly clear that kimi didn't mean to offend. she was expressing herself in a vitriolic way, yes, but in the heat of the moment. unfortunately words tend to stick around for everyone to pick apart.

pooka · 05/04/2007 12:32

Not aware of "chav" as referring to an ethnic group. However, pikey is a quite commonly used offensive term for gypsies.

kimiTheEasterBunny · 05/04/2007 12:32

Between a quarter and half of European Roma were exterminated by Hitler and his allies in the Holocaust. Doubtless Kimi thinks it is shame that they didn't finish the job...

LedodgyCheapEasterEggsAreASin · 05/04/2007 12:32

But Kimi you didn't just object to two women. Your title suggests you object to a whole race of people and uses an offensive term to do that. You also make derogatory comments about being fat. I agree that the woman was out of order in what she said to your son but that has feck all to do with her being fat or having greasy hair.

piglit · 05/04/2007 12:32

No one called her a nazi. It's a term she gave herself.

kittypants · 05/04/2007 12:33

oh seen it,you werent actually called that though were you?

FoghornLeghorn · 05/04/2007 12:34

Oh Dear !

kimiTheEasterBunny · 05/04/2007 12:35

I thnk you will find FP seems to think I have Nazi feelings.
Oh and I do have black friends, and gay ones, I do know my bible, and I stand by my right to not like these woman, how they looked or behaved.

OP posts:
zippitippitoes · 05/04/2007 12:36

well you do come across somewaht us and them

I expect however that they called you something in return like stuck up cow

live and let live eh

hercules1 · 05/04/2007 12:37

at this thread. It brings it homes doesnt it that some people have appalling attitudes to other people.

hercules1 · 05/04/2007 12:37

I wonder if Jesus would have felt the same....

lulumama · 05/04/2007 12:37

problem with threads like these, they take on a life of their own...

'oh how i hate pikey chavs'

what would happen if you had put

'oh how i hate black immigrants'

'oh how i hate poor white people'

????

the vitriol spilling out of your post is quite amazing, and to not know pikey is an offensive term
it is the sweeping generalisations that are most objectionable

and if that woman had hit your ds, and you hit her back, how does it make you any better than her?

just don;t quite get it

HoppyDaddy · 05/04/2007 12:37

Personally I'd have been pissed with those two mums as well, but because of their behaviour and not hot they looked.

Kimi and Immiesmum, as you are both of Romany / Jewish origin you should know better than to make such sweeping generalisations.

Shame on those two mums but shame on you too, for your outlook.

foxinsocks · 05/04/2007 12:38

holds head in hands and weeps

you don't have to like them - but you don't need to use offensive language to describe them

kimiTheEasterBunny · 05/04/2007 12:41

I'm not stuck up in the least.
However I do find it wrong to swear at children (they swore at their own as well as mine) I would not consider hitting a six year old (the child that pushed over my friends son was about 6 or seven) and the fact that one of the children was asking for a chip and saying they were hungry only to be told no you can't have a fucking chip their mine now fuck off is common.

OP posts:
Firepile · 05/04/2007 12:41

Did I call you a Nazi, Kimi? No. I was just making the point that that's where identifying a race or social group of people as unworthy of support leads. Hitler didn't start off by putting people in gas chambers, he whiped up existing prejudice against them (and, often their "unworthy" lifestyles) first.

I had been willing to think that you had unwittingly used the term pikey not realising its connotation, but you then went on to show in susbequent posts that you've got a lot of prejudice lurking not far under the surface. It doesn't take much for those attitudes to become something very sinister indeed, or do you think that all Germans were inherently evil people?

wannaBeWhateverIWannaBe · 05/04/2007 12:43

Hasn?t this all got a bit out of hand? OK so the Op used terms that some deem to be offensive, however the women described in her op sounded vile. And IMO this is not the first time such behaviour has been ranted about on mn. Have seen numerous posts about ?people smoking in front of their children?/?felt sorry for child as parent told him/her to f off?/?it?s so sad when you see people come in with kids who have snotty noses etc and their parents appear to do nothing about it?? come on we?ve all judged these types. Now let?s say the op hadn?t used the terms pikey or chav in her op, what would your opinions have been if the op had read something like:

?Yesterday I went out with DSs and a friend and her DS we had a lovely day, fed the swans, played mini golf, had a nice lunch then stopped off at the play
park. Two women came in with their children, tbh the children looked uncared for as their hair was matted, they had snotty noses and the mothers seemed to be paying no attention. Both of them were smoking and seemed oblivious to their children. The women sat down with huge McDonalds meals and started to complain that their cheeseburger didn?t taste as nice as the one they?d had yesterday. One of the kids came over and asked her mum for a chip and she told her to f*ck off. One of the children pushed over my friend?s 3 year old ds and my ds said to her that it wasn?t nice. Kid?s mum turned to her friend and said ?if he has a go at her again I?ll smack him one?.

About 10 minutes later we got ready to leave and ds2 fell over and started crying. He came running to me with scuffed hands and knees. One of the mums turned to him and said ?for f*cks sake shut up?, and rolled another cigarette. We left after that but I was very and at the way they behaved with such young children".

Cashncarry · 05/04/2007 12:45

I think that's the point Wannabe - the language used was extremely offensive (and the subsequent views aired) but the scenario itself would almost certainly have induced empathy without it.

Maybe Kimi should cut and paste your version and try again on another thread

northerner · 05/04/2007 12:45

But the OP didn't read like that did it wannabe?

If my auntie had balls she'd be my uncle you know.........

OrmIrian · 05/04/2007 12:47

Well exactly. The terminology was always the problem.

zippitippitoes · 05/04/2007 12:49

the way the op is expressed is the point of the post though ..the rant is about a type of person and their behaviour and the ops feelings towards them..which is why she chose the language she did

kimiTheEasterBunny · 05/04/2007 12:49

No I have nothing against Germans (unless you count the football).
Nor was I having a go at travellers or gypsies.
I do not have to like every body, I have met white people I did not like, black people I did not like, fat ones thin ones rich ones poor ones young ones old ones posh ones common ones, Muslims, christens, Jewish, and just about everyone else, But I have met many many more of the same that I have.

My point is I do not expect to go to the park and have to deal with vile people, what ever colour, race, religion, size etc.

But hay lets all pull me apart, and look past the way these women behave. Thats more mumsnet.

OP posts:
wannaBeWhateverIWannaBe · 05/04/2007 12:50

no she didn't write it like that, but she was just ranting, we've all said things in a way that we might not have thought through haven't we?

does anyone remember a thread for instance where the op referred to a child as a bitch because the child had made fun of her child's sn? she was absolutely jumped on for the way she'd referred to the child, and yet no-one seemed to see the point that her child was being victimized.

sometimes we need to look past the exterior to the heart of the issue IMO.
