Have read nothing but AO3 today Blush But also am making Plum Jam and done some washing, and played 'catch', so have not entirely wasted the day Confused Just mostly...

LetUsPrey · 28/08/2017 17:53

Anything of particular interest Helen?

Oh yeah, massive tut at you having a non-productive day. Because you usually never do anything and don't need to take it easy occasionally hmmmmmmm. So tell that guilty feeling to do one.

Just an AU story (with slash that I skimmed over, because, meh.) But the story was well written and fun to see how they tied the television characters and storylines into the AU story.

My twitter feed is full of retweets about how good Strike was. Which is nice to see, but I don't really need to have to scroll past every positive comment, from people I don't know, to get to any actualnews out there. Hmm 1st World Problems and all that...

MadamedeChevreuse · 28/08/2017 19:01

Helloooooooooo!!!!!

Well that was pretty epic I thought. Loving marie de medici too. Back later - cooking dinner...

Watched it! Loved it!TB is brilliant!

LetUsPrey · 28/08/2017 19:43

I can lose hours on AO3

hello there gorgeous! Sorry, I'm squishing you. Hang on, I'll get up. Nope, can't help it

So pleased you got to watch it Wicked. Squeeee!

I must have seen Tara Fitzgerald in loads of stuff over the years but unfortunately what's sticking in my mind is when she was in one of those bloody awful ITV productions of Miss Marple. (The one with the Batch in it was good of course>

Excited for tonight's episode. It's really difficult listening to DH and DS1 commenting on what they think happened and who the murderer might be and I'm sitting there thinking "wrong wrong and wrong again" Grin

Arghhhhhhhh dilemmas - we have the season finale of GoT AND Strike tonight. Confused Late night, much?

LetUsPrey · 28/08/2017 19:56

I think you're going to have to watch both Helen. You'll have to use some of those matchsticks Madame gave to Strike

I like those bloody awful ITV productions Letus Hmm

MadamedeChevreuse · 28/08/2017 20:05

The tara I always remember is from Brassed Off. Love that film. Pete Postlethwaite is amazing.

ApricotCrush · 28/08/2017 20:07

Hello Madame, welcome back.

I've got to watch episode 1 again, because guess what, DH went to sleep, and I'm definitely not putting anything in his tea LetUs. Grin I know he's seen it at the screening how he didn't go to sleep there is a miracle, but he wants to see it all again before episode 2. Hmm

I can't remember who did it, but I do remember thinking it was a bit of a plot hole.

Glad you got to see it WW, good luck for tonight.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 28/08/2017 20:15

Brassed off is a really charming movie, she's also in The tenant of Wildfell Hall with Toby Stephens.

I'll record it on Filmon and watch it tomorrow, hope it works this time too.

LetUsPrey · 28/08/2017 20:17

In comparison to the BBC Miss Marple programmes I don't think they're that great, but I can't see anyone else as Miss Marple other than Joan Hickson so I'm a bit biased. The Poirot series on ITV however were outstanding. Absolutely perfect!

Do you think you'll be able to watch episode 2 in the same way?

at MrApricot falling asleep again necessitating a TB rewatch

LetUsPrey · 28/08/2017 20:19

Cross-post! Hope it works again.

Friend at work loves Toby Stephens. And she's a big Agatha Christie fan so we had a lot to discuss after And Then There Were None Grin

!!!!!!Bong-style mad thread catch-up with many things missing / forgotten!!!!!!!

Arf at "plinky plonky" lula music though actually I quite like it it got reet stuck in my head.

Also loved "piss in a cup" moment - was that in the book?

DP agreed that DI Wardle is not great.

Robin is perfect but reminds me slightly of a ginge Clara from Dr Who?

TB is amazing, he looks the part despite not looking in rl anything like how CS is described in the book. Kudos but we always knew he would be great...

Rochelle didnt last long did she Grin

comtesse and elk loved your "deeply sexual tom thoughts" and general squeeing. Awwww you guys...missed this! Grin

Re tom's general excellence and possible being snapped up and moving to US blatant effort to get in my latest Marvel / TV male obsession MARVEL VEHICLES ARE HOOVERING UP UK TALENT BY THE TRUCKLOAD ATM!!! Just sayin like. Vis:

  • David Tennant - apparently was amazing villain in something Ive not seen
  • Bloke out of Iron Fist - is also a Brit
  • Ditto Stardust's Charlie Cox who is my latest obsession fucking amazing in the fucking amazing Daredevil.
  • Some others, probably.

Aneeeeyway...

What I am saying is TB would clearly make an amazing Marvel villain. Oh yes.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 28/08/2017 20:24

Toby Stephens is brilliant as Mr Rochester, another part TB would be brilliant as Smile

LetUsPrey · 28/08/2017 20:27

Oooo TB as a Marvel villain!!! Absolutely!

Ah Wicked - you and friend from work would get on famously although she didn't watch TM. She loves TS's Mr Rochester!

And I love Strike's coat, just want to slide in under it and rub myself against him Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 28/08/2017 20:30

That version of Jane Eyre is fab! And Tara Fitzgerald is in it as well.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/08/2017 20:36

See, that's one of the things that (fortunately) stopped me physically hurling myself at TaraF and fangirling at her - the fact that "Oh my god I've seen you in loads of things and you're fab, but at the moment I can't actually name any of them except for Musketeers, which just makes me look like I don't watch anything unless Tom Burke is in it, so I just can't bring myself to look that sad..." Hmm Grin

Will happily fangirl over Stardust with Madame though Grin I still haven't made DS watch that one actually - still - there's plenty of time yet.

MadamedeChevreuse · 28/08/2017 20:54

Yesssssss helen!!!

yeh you and me we can ride on a star, we can dooo, dooo dooo dooo, I forgot the words...

Was reacquainting with Stardust and Neil Gaiman because I bought Good Omens on kindle in advance of the upcoming david tennant / michael sheen adaptation which sounds WELL EXCITING.

God, Charlie Cox's mouth...

MadamedeChevreuse · 28/08/2017 20:55

Forced ds to watch it twice over the weekend. Grin

MadamedeChevreuse · 28/08/2017 20:56

Anyway... Strike o clock.

Wenches...ready!!!

MadamedeChevreuse · 28/08/2017 21:02

Btw wtaf is that load of pipes in a picture frame on the wall in his office?

LetUsPrey · 28/08/2017 21:04

Wondered about the pipe picture too.

Anyway, as ever, I'll be behind as I'm waiting on DH and DS1.
