She (cat) came back after a bit. She's lovely. Looks quite big but is very floofy and as light as anything. Sounds familiar.

Pleased you had a fab time Fancy. You will see that Apricot had to be revived multiple times after dying her hair.

Going back to Outlander, visiting (Scottish) relatives were relating how the last time they went to New York when people heard their accents they kept asking "do you know Jamie Fraser?" and stuff like that. They've never read/seen it so had no clue what all these women were taking about Grin

I'm watching The Hobbit part 1 - Aidan Turner hot dwarf

Evening. Have been hostessing my little socks off. Sort of. Well, I cooked the veggie portion of tea tonight. And I did the driving this afternoon. Um... they've gone to bed now anyway.

at apricot's strategic fainting. Good plan... Hope Athos was able to revive you - repeatedly Grin

DS is asleep upstairs in our bed - awwwww Smile StupidCat is asleep on me - obviously not that traumatised by our repeated torture sessions. Her eye is much better, but not there yet. Suspect I may need to ring the vet next week to check whether they need to see her again.

LetUsPrey · 22/07/2017 23:08

Poor StupidCat. Hope the eye recovers quickly. Choose a prize for excellent hostessing.

I must away to the hayloft. Struggling to keep my eyes open. I shall just have to feel my way.

Morning wenches.

Was expecting rain today so no washing ready. Have woken up to glorious sunshine and no rain until this evening. I also must - and brace yourselves for the excitement - clean the bathroom. Lots of visitors this afternoon. Have to go to see my parents and do the ironing. Honestly the thrills.

Had an NCIS dream last night but it was just an all action type thing and I didn't get Gibbsed at all, although he was there. Jeez even my subconscious is dull.

We are going to the beach.... because we are hosting... and DS is 'waiting for me' FFS...

FancyFancy · 23/07/2017 11:21

Morning

Hope you're not overcome with excitement letus Grin

If it makes you feel any better I have a day of laundry & admin planned. At least there's Poldark to look forward to.

LetUsPrey · 23/07/2017 13:02

Hope the beach is enjoyable Helen. You can imagine it's a tropical paradise and you're frolicking in the surf with an HBF and then having a romantic time on the beach without sand going where you don't want sand to go.

I've held off on the ironing for now Fancy. Wouldn't want to get too carried away. We're way behind with Poldark because we can't get DS2 to sleep at a reasonable time of an evening and then DS1 would be up too late. I might watch them myself and tell DH and DS1 to watch them this week whilst they're off and DS2 is playing outside.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/07/2017 14:04

Tropical paradise you say...? Nope - can't match up 'cold British beach' with 'frolicking in the surf.' The closest I got to that was paddling in wellies and skimming stones with DS. Certainly no HBFs in sight, or sand in awkward places.

Is raining on and off here.

ApricotCrush · 23/07/2017 15:04

Hello all!

This morning as I went out to put some washing on the line I found a half-eaten pigeon on the terrace. Eeewwww! I left DH to deal with it.

Anyway, I've just made a fruit cake. DH and his golfing mates are going to the caravan on Tuesday and he likes to take a home-made cake. I fucking hate baking cakes. You can tell how much by the fact that the flour was two years out of date. Shock It was an unopened packet though and I did check for those weevil things in it. It'll be alright won't it? Hmm

Glad Fancy had a good time.

Have you finished hosting now Helen?

FancyFancy · 23/07/2017 15:25

Eek at the pigeon apricot. I'm sure the flour will be fine if it smells ok & is free of weevils!

Another 'eek' - watching NCIS & Gibbs has a 'tache. It needs removing. And why stop there? May as well carry on with the theme & start removing clothes...........

LetUsPrey · 23/07/2017 15:40

Barfarama at the pigeon Apricot. I'm sure the cake will be fine. MrApricot can add it to his "living life with a bit of risk" list.

Is that series 4 Fancy? Fecking awful that tache. It doesn't last long thankfully. I wholeheartedly agree with your suggestion Grin

I have a houseful of visitors. They are super lovely and I love seeing them but they are a bit on the loud side. Cheerful and happy, but loud.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 23/07/2017 15:53

Good point letus, MrA does seem to like living on the edge!

Yes it's season 4 - care to give me a hand carrying out my suggestion?

LetUsPrey · 23/07/2017 15:58

I would be more than happy and willing to give Gibbs a hand Fancy Grin

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/07/2017 16:16

LOL Fancy re. removal of tache and onwards...

I'm sure the flour will be fine - no weevils, no damp - all good.

I have finished hostessing, DH is out in the garden, DS is now on the sofa watching spiderman, which is lovely that he wants to sit beside me, but it does rather cramp my surfing ability. FFS... maybe I should hit the garden too. Then I can bask in a warm glow of 'doing something useful' rather than indulging in guilty MN/AO3 pleasures Grin

I also need to bake, but I like baking (mostly) so that's ok. And I need to measure things for DIY stuff. There's actually lots I ought to be doing, if I just could get off my backside and doooooooooooooo iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttttttttttt.

ApricotCrush · 23/07/2017 16:56

Thanks Helen. I haven't told him about the flour. He wouldn't care, but I don't want him to worry about poisoning his friends.

Might not get to watch Poldark tonight, DD has invited us for a Sunday roast and I don't know what time we'll be back.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 23/07/2017 17:20

Evening. Starting work tomorrow, yuk Angry
Grin at barfarama
Confused at halfeaten pigeon.
Hope StupidCat gets better soon.

LetUsPrey · 23/07/2017 20:09

I was having a browse through AO3 the other night Helen Grin. You're right, definitely can't be done with a DC or DH next to you.

Guests gone. Ironing done.

Can't believe it's been four weeks already Wicked!

Just watched Wild Alaska Live. Lovely.

OP posts:
WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 23/07/2017 20:17

Any good stuff on AO3?

LetUsPrey · 23/07/2017 20:28

Some yes, some not. Some I read a few paragraphs, see something that makes me think no no no and I go back other stuff I bookmark

Think we'll catch up with Poldark from tomorrow. Still pissed off with my subconscious I had an NCIS dream with Gibbs in it but it was all explosions, detecting and shit.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/07/2017 21:05

Not to worry LetUs - that dream just proved that you're not just shallow/only interested in his looks.... No - who am I kidding? Your subconscious is just taking the piss.

LetUsPrey · 23/07/2017 21:10

Grin Helen. Ah, you know me well it's like having a dream where Paella is wearing only a dressing gown and you draw the top closer together and smile nicely for a photo. W.T.A.F.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/07/2017 21:20

ROTFL at the idea of making sure HBFs are nicely covered up, that's a cracker. Mind you, I had that one where my subconscious added DS as a chaperone Hmm Thanks for that, subconscious!

We're watching Tour de France finish... Thiiiiiiighs.....

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 23/07/2017 21:23

I'm scheduled to start work at 7 o'clock tomorrow, great Hmm

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/07/2017 21:27

Sad WW what time do you finish?

LetUsPrey · 23/07/2017 21:31

That's shit Wicked. Is there an early/earlier finish to sort of make up for it? Although for starting at 7am, I'd be wanting a lunchtime finish Grin
