Just trying to figure out how I'm going to be comfortable at work this week where it will a bazillion degrees. Saw some nice dresses in M&S but they sold out online and in my local stores a couple of weeks ago. A lot of my summer clothes seem to have shrunk in the wash, particularly over the stomach and bottom areas.

We watched Versailles last night. Marchal is hot even when he's torturing people to death. Love Chevalier, he's such a drama queen.

DH went to play golf with DS this afternoon which was nice. I sat in the garden with Buffy. She was crying to come out, but I'm scared of losing her so I put her harness and long lead on her, which in no time was wrapped around various trees, table legs and balustrades until she couldn't move. She ended up lying in the dirtiest, messiest border, in spite of the fact that I put cushions down for her, and is now covered in tree debris which she's brought into the house. Still, she's very cute.

Don't know what to do for dinner, I seem to have run out of food.

Urgh. had nice family day and BBQ. Spent the day melting in the shade. Came home and fell asleep on accident, for about an hour. I feel like shit now Will need a spectacularly early night to recover at this rate...

Glad everyone sounds like they've had a good day. Buffy sounds like a typical cat - 'watch me do whatever I want...'

apricot, I love how you put cushions in teh garden for Buffy . And how she refused to sit on them - typical cat. FancyCat also traipses in with bits of shrubbery attached - it's a good job floofy cats are cute with all teh work they cause.

My friend does similar for her cat. Sets out a special blanket for her, all comfy. Cat lies right next to it with perhaps a tiny tiny part of her tail touching it

I might have to watch Versailles again. I'm sure I must have missed something important....

Despite early night, I spent an awful lot of time lying in bed not being able to sleep.

Burrs are the worst on long hairs cats - I have been waging war o it in the garden, but still, there's plenty of it and I know I'll be picking then out of the cats hair Ours are quite good at sleeping on the blankets - mainly because all the chairs have blankets of them Even then though they seem to manage to move the blanket to ones side and weave their hair into the upholstery. As fancy says - just as well they're cute.

Hope Madame is alright and not in the midst of heat-induced migraine hell... I shall send someone to investigate. Hmmm... who would be good at investigating wench whereabouts...?

Today I experienced possibly the only downside of no longer having small children - listening to the sound of children splashing in a paddling pool in a neighbouring garden. I soooooooo wanted to jump in. It's too hot, the only thing that would make this bearable is a bevy of hbfs fanning me. NOT a euphemism
