Obviously if there is gin, I will be there. I will bring a bottle of Ophir

FoxesSitOnBoxes · 02/01/2017 13:28

Happy New Year Zombie! Excellent playlist!

AcrossthePond55 · 02/01/2017 14:07

If we go with a barn dance, can we please do the Chicken Dance? After many gins?

iklboo · 02/01/2017 14:10

I can play Silent Night on the glockenspiel if that helps?

cozietoesie · 02/01/2017 14:11

I'd also have to go with Handel. This one from Ariodante is ....... sublime. No other word for it. I've chosen the version by Dame Janet Baker.

MrsMozart · 02/01/2017 14:37

How do I get a vid thing on here...?

IamtheZombie · 02/01/2017 14:51

Bassetfeet, John Denver will have a few entries on the WPLâ„¢. I've been a huge fan for 45 years.

Let's start with

MrsMozart, I use YouTube. Find the video you want. Click on the Share icon right under the video. Copy the https link. Come back to Mumsnet and use the insert link here Space then type the name of the song

Note: remove the spaces between the opening and the closing . I just used them to show the format.

This is on a similar vain to "Don't stop me now" mentioned way up thread.
Terrific for a conga, if you like these things.

The Only Way is Up?

MrsMozart · 02/01/2017 15:45

IAmTheZombie - thank you kindly lass. Will go and find the vid Grin

MrsMozart · 02/01/2017 15:48

Hope it worked!

Love this version.

MrsMozart · 02/01/2017 15:49

Hm. Forgot to do the name bit... Coldplay - Paradise (Peponi) African Style (ft. guest artist, Alex Boye) - ThePianoGuys

Another lurker delurking. Happy New Year Zombie and phalanx. I have loved reading your Christmas threads. Also loving your playlist, great choices!

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 02/01/2017 16:39

to all the de-lurkers. Fabulous to see so many!!

KickAssAngel · 02/01/2017 16:46

Whoever it was who can play the glockenspiel should be allowed to do so, just so that we can all say we listened to a glockenspiel player. And we can then have a fun party game, after many drinks, or who can say glockenspiel the most times.

Fiderer · 02/01/2017 17:00

Z is doing the music.

Food appears to be sorted.

Drink too but to be on the safe side I'll go by our local wine cooperative tomorrow and get loads more sparkling stuff. Bargain @ €5.95 a bottle and better than many a champagne I've had.

Am reading up on cocktails, have got to the "add umbrella" stage so am obv v advanced.

Not sure about ikl and the glockenspiel. Did she not read about my trauma with the recorder-ists?

UnbornMortificadoAtChristmas · 02/01/2017 17:04

I'll share my happy pills that could be fun.

(Feel I should add light hearted)

Fiderer · 02/01/2017 17:06

Morti This is a thread where you can happily (!) drop that bollocks.

bookbook · 02/01/2017 17:11

I will volunteer to collect and wash up glasses . I'm pretty good at that- or maybe not after all the drink Grin

BoreOfWhabylon · 02/01/2017 17:37

Here's one of my favourites for the playlist - fabulous tune, moving yet comforting lyrics

Fisherman's Blues - The Waterboys

'With light in my head
You in my arms... '

IamtheZombie · 02/01/2017 17:47

I don't have a glockenspiel but I can offer a song with a lovely flugelhorn passage.

Ooh and would anyone like beetroot cider? It tastes extremely strongly of beetroot.

whitehandledkitchenknife · 02/01/2017 18:08

Another delurker here . I've got some lovely tea towels that need using what a thoughtful present Hmm.
I'll help bookbook with the glasses.
