Every good day comes at a price. I'm still paying off Christmas Day.

Boxing Day was so-so. Yesterday was sheer hell. I managed to do a couple of small things but mostly spent the last 40 hours in bed trying and generally failing to ease the pain while Jason and Shea continued to work on cleaning the house and laundry.

The Movicol seems to be working well so I don't think it's that. Whatever it is hurts. A lot.

I've now got to try and work out how to get them to Stratford upon Avon this afternoon. I'm certainly in no condition to drive.

TheoriginalLEM · 28/12/2016 09:31

So sorry you are struggling today.

Taxi? bus? train? definitely not you driving. Can J get some sort of short notice insurance and drive? it might work out cheaper than a taxi etc?

StealthPolarBear · 28/12/2016 09:35

So sorry you're in pain :(

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 28/12/2016 09:50

Bugger Zombie I'm sorry to hear that. Is it a new kind of pain / in a new place?

Baths sending you positive wellness vibes for your DS.

Wolfiefan · 28/12/2016 09:52

I'm so sorry. Any out of hours that could advise on pain relief? Anyone give them a lift?

Transport is sorted. Within 3 minutes of posting on FB my phone rang. Friends will collect them around 12.30, take them to the hotel in Stratford then to the rail station to purchase their tickets for tomorrow and return them to the hotel.

These are the friends who always step in to help if they can even though they live a 2 hour drive away. Luckily, Stratford is on the route between their house and mine.

Mummylin · 28/12/2016 10:36

So sorry that the pain isn't letting up, just when you want to be spending pain free time with the newly weds. How lovely that some friends have stepped in to help out. That's a true friend indeed. Is there somewhere you can phone to discuss your meds. Is it possible to have 3 patches or would that be silly ?

Wolfiefan · 28/12/2016 10:38

Thank goodness for lovely friends. Now how about some more pain relief my lovely?

OhTheRoses · 28/12/2016 11:03

Is it not reasonable to request a GP home visit? Sorry to hear you are suffering. Glad transport is sorted. What's the issue vis ZLad or ZLass driving your car? If they've got their papers might it be worth hiring a small car for the next few days?

DeckTheHallsWithLimbsOfZombie · 28/12/2016 11:20

The ZKids fly back to Virginia tomorrow afternoon. The original plan was that I drive us all to Stratford this afternoon and they then proceeded to the airport by public transport tomorrow. The only change is that my friends will now do the ChezZombie to Stratford journey.

I change the morphine patch today. It's best if I give this level another few days and just take as much Oramorph as needed during that time so the Hospice Nurse can then advise on whether a patch increase is needed. These things take some time to settle down.

UnbornMortificadoAtChristmas · 28/12/2016 11:38

Oh Zombie sorry you had such a rough day.

You have such lovely RL friends.

I'm pleased you've posted I've just mentioned to DH that's what I was coming on here to check. I did think Christmas may have took its toll somewhat.

TheMagicFarawaySleeps · 28/12/2016 11:53

Sorry you're in so much pain Zombie. Seconding the suggestion of GP if Oromorph doesn't take the pain off. Can they give you something a little stronger until the patches kick in in a few days?

Glad your friends stepped in to help. They sound lovely. I bet the ZombieKids don't want to leave after having such a fabulous Christmas with you.

OhTheRoses · 28/12/2016 12:11

Oh Zombie time has flown. Thinking of youFlowers

DeckTheHallsWithLimbsOfZombie · 28/12/2016 13:40

The ZombieKids are on their way safe in the extremely capable hands of my friends.

I'm just going to sit here and have a little cry.

You have a bloody ginormous cry if that's what you feel like having. The biggest loudest most wailing cry MNet has ever heard. Am going out for an angry sweep on your behalf xx

SpaceDinosaur · 28/12/2016 14:41

Gentle hugs zombie

Allalonenow · 28/12/2016 14:44

Sending you some hugs Zombie. Thanks

fruitbats · 28/12/2016 14:50

Hugs for you Zombie. I'm glad you enjoyed christmas day Thanks

puddingisgood · 28/12/2016 15:32

Oh how quickly that has gone Zombie! I wouldn't blame you for having a big cry. Maybe there will inevitably be a bit of a 'low' after such an exciting time? We'll be here to listen if you're struggling.
