DeckTheHallsWithLimbsOfZombie · 24/12/2016 00:41

The ZombieKids have just headed up to bed.

We've had a lovely evening. Nipped into Craven Arms to collect the forms from my GP. Then we went to Bridgnorth, did our shopping at the Sainsburys and went on to find a parking space right in front of the Wetherspoons. It was heaving but we managed to find a table. I had scampi and chips and managed to get through about 60% of it. That's more than I've managed at a single sitting (sometimes in 2 days) for the last month or so.

We got home around 9.00 and have just been chatting and laughing since then.

All in all, a most satisfactory 1st day.

ImtheChristmasCarcass · 24/12/2016 00:47

Sweet dreams, Zombie. And to all a Good Night!

Allalonenow · 24/12/2016 00:48

Get toned pronto then, and have another fab day tomorrow! Xmas Smile

Allalonenow · 24/12/2016 01:06

That should say "get to bed pronto"!

This new iPad is driving me nuts, it's got a mind of its own, and its
instruction book was written by Kafka.

So glad you've had a good day Zombie.

Wishing you and the ZombieKids a wonderful Christmas.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 24/12/2016 01:22

Zombie I am feeling all teary and weepy and so, so happy for you. Thank God they are there. They made it. You are all together. Festive cheer indeed. I know you will savour every moment.

Chez Hearts it has been an interesting few days. We are back in our house after a drain problem which backed up into our basement (dirty water, DISGUSTING!!!) which meant $$$$$$$, a 15-foot excavation in our front garden, two nights in a hotel and not knowing if we would be able to be back here for Christmas. But we are, and it has been all cleaned up, and the tree is shining and the girls are finished school now and I think we are done our Christmas shopping and I am completely exhausted. Counting my many blessings though. The extra gin ration from magi is helping as are lin's ..... interesting .... pictures Grin

It's already Christmas Eve where you lot are. Happy Christmas everyone.

Fiderer · 24/12/2016 05:52

Blimey Hearts how rotten for you esp after a big move with all hassles.

Am on Kindle and not used to MNing on it so posts may be Kafkaesque or turn out as a recipe for making candles using pine needles. And old socks.

Merry Eve to the Phalanx

Z lovely, post will be a bit late but most heartfelt.

PeppaAteMySoul · 24/12/2016 08:12

Merry Christmas Zombie and Zombiekids it's lovely you are all together.

OhTheRoses · 24/12/2016 08:35

That was a lovely post Zombie. Enjoy the festive days with the Zeds. So glad the pain relief seems to have kicked in just in time.

Hearts that sounds awful - any mileage in a claim via the Surveyor?

HerChristmasFattyness · 24/12/2016 09:15

Hope you all have a fab day zombie

It's Christmas eve phalanx!

DeckTheHallsWithLimbsOfZombie · 24/12/2016 10:14

Morning.

I went up to bed around 2.00 but didn't really fall asleep until closer to 5.00. Tummy was uncomfortable again and I spent the time switching from left side to back to right side to sitting up until things eventually settled down comfortably. I woke up just before 9.00, came downstairs and have been watching telly while sipping water and working my way through my morning meds. I still need to climb out my chair for my Oramorph and Movicol. Oh. And to feed the cats.

I'm only just now hearing stirring from the ZombieKids' side of the house. I hope they've had a good sleep and have awoken refreshed (and jet lagged free).

UnbornMortificadoAtChristmas · 24/12/2016 11:06

Sorry to hear you've had an uncomfortable night Zombie.

Hope you have another fabulous day with the zombie kids Flowers

OhTheRoses · 24/12/2016 11:35

Sorry here too about the bad night. Am guessing it's the price paid for having a very busy and exciting couple of days with a late assault by scampi. Take it easy and pace. But enjoy and let them run around after you.

Wolfiefan · 24/12/2016 11:41

Sorry it hasn't been a good night. Hoping you still manage to have a good day.

BathshebaSnowflakeStone · 24/12/2016 11:58

Sorry to hear you had a rough night Zombie. Let the ZKids run around after you now. Xmas Grin

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 24/12/2016 14:33

Sorry about bad night Zombie
What's the plan today?

We've already had our Hungarian lunch and after crib service & popping in to friends' we'll open presents from my mum.
Then as per our family's tradition we'll watch Die Hard. It is after all the best Xmas film.

Happy Die Hard Day!Grin

Mummylin · 24/12/2016 14:40

Hope the day is more comfortable than last night Zomb. Hope you will rest today and not overtax yourself. I am gad that you have a very special pair to help you and that tomorrow you are pain free and can enjoy the day.

Susiesoap7 · 24/12/2016 16:24

Here's to a pain free Christmas Day zombie, lots of nice food, but not too much! Lots of love from zombie kids and a relaxed nights sleep 😴

dazzlingdeborahrose · 24/12/2016 16:58

Just wanted to pop on and wish Zombie family a wonderful xmas. Sorry to hear you had a rough night though. Hope you're feeling a bit more comfy now.
I have spent my day wrapping presents and making braised lamb shanks for dinner. Hubby has been making eggnog as per national lampoons Christmas vacation. Now watching nigella and thinking about popping to pub to sample new offering of espresso martini 😋. It's all downhill from here "hic"Xmas Grin

BathshebaSnowflakeStone · 24/12/2016 17:06

lin was your DH working when he fell off the ladder? If not, what on earth possessed him to climb it with a hip replacement? Xmas Shock

DeckTheHallsWithLimbsOfZombie · 24/12/2016 17:06

Afternoon.

So far today we've got through a couple of loads of laundry, been to the cafe in Craven Arms for lunch, Tuffins for Marmite for Jason and then into Ludlow to get a couple of things from the pharamcist. We're now home and the ZombieKids are blitzing the kitchen while I put my feet up. When they've got the kitchen sparkling we'll destroy it again preparing a roast lamb dinner. I've also introduced them to the quirks of the Hoover. I reckon by the end of the evening we'll have the kitchen, back hall and downstairs loo ship shape.

They are amazing people.
