ZombieLad gets married today. Hats on and champagne at the ready!

A week today he and ZombieLass arrive to spend Christmas with me. It will be the Best. Christmas. Ever.

There have been no miracles so my remaining days keep ticking away. Life is for living. Death is not to be feared. Wakes are for celebrating.

Yes, did think I might tbh so had FidBoys on standby duty at home for the girls. They found it amusing and were pleased for me, bit like when your granny figures out how to send a text

Also it's loopy here at Christmas market time on the trains and it was quite far away

Phalanx - here we go.

City was really v loopy with drunken C'mas market revellers so we didn't eat at a restaurant. He cooked. Pasta with salmon for those who are interested.

And we talked about politics a lot. Because nothing gets a date going better than Trump, Brexit, the collapse of the USSR and Irish independence.

And we talked about Havana.

And music.

And he tried to teach me how to dance the rumba. I blame my lack of skill on his rotten teaching methods. I rather thought I shined.

And we drank. And he played the guitar and sang to me. And I could barely stay awake on the train home.

But the Phalanx can put their hats away. I did really enjoy the evening/night/morning. The knowing him for ages, the flirting, confirmed what I thought of him. I think he'd drive me batty.

But an occasional Cuban cigar , well why not?

I just knew he would teach you to dance, though I thought it would be the tango!!

Hope Zlass feels better soon (I ended up in hospital the day after my wedding with an infection - antiBs sorted it quickly so I wish the same for her).

Blimey Fids! That's first date!

We went to the Tolkien Society's Yulemoot at a Wetherspoons pub. DS2 had fish, chips and peas, DD had cheesy pasta, I had a turkey and cranberry panini, the DC had warm chocolate brownie chunks with ice cream for pudding. We're back home, DS2 is asleep after holding him down to get his pyjamas on, DD's doing her reading then bed.

One definitely needs more than one puff of the Cuban cigar to decide whether one likes it.

Zombie I remember one of the trickiest things for my DDad was getting the morphine / digestive tract / loopiness balance right. I hope you can find a good combo but it also seems to change all the time too. Infuriating.

I am finally getting around to watching Strictly on YouTube and I would love to read along on the famous blog BUT I am too scared of googling or clickingon links to later blog posts in case I inadvertently find out spoilers (the winner). Would you be able to link me directly to the first post of the season? It's pretty easy to avoid news that over here in the great white north :-)

It's a brilliant age- every conceivable emotion is fully expressed, usually in the same minute!

Way to go Fid! Sounds like a memorable night, whether it's for the right reasons and worth a rerun is for you to figure out once you've had a catch up nap. Looks like I'm not the only one having a bit of a 'dry spell' (pun intended) so surely it is your duty to take one for the team

Fid you know in your heart whether you want another date - do what your heart says but make sure you listen to your head and if there's a little niggle .............. Sounds very exciting though! DH and I cried of dinks with the vicar tonight - oh the excitement!
