Zombie's Journey - A Wedding, A Final Christmas and Planning for a Wake

ZombieLad gets married today. Hats on and champagne at the ready!

A week today he and ZombieLass arrive to spend Christmas with me. It will be the Best. Christmas. Ever.

There have been no miracles so my remaining days keep ticking away. Life is for living. Death is not to be feared. Wakes are for celebrating.

Oh we are the Lego Capital Of The North in this house. DH & DS both obsessed. I've got DH this for Xmas. He got the Millennium Falcon last year, R2D2 the year before, the Batmobile Rumbler and a Lego Technic Porsche for birthdays. DS's room is 60% Lego, 30% Nerf, 10% small boy. Still, if it keeps them quiet while I drink gin read or something, san fairy Ann - as my old nan used to say.

BathsLad buys his own, I wouldn't dare! He spends most of his DLA on it.

DS1(13) is getting the Lego Technic Porsche 911 this year for his Christmas AND birthday, from Santa, his parents AND his grandparents

Very nice! BathsLad likes Bionicles and Creator.

PD - that Porsche is an epic build. It took DH a good few sessions. But it does look very nice when it's done - and it's got the engine techy bits as well which are impressive.

DS1 has staying power - he is the most persistent and patient lego builder, v impressive.
He's done the Lego Ferrari thingy, the Death Star, the Millennium Falcon and the Technic crane which was just epic!

If I stop posting, it will be because I am smothered under a Lego avalanche. Send help in that case. Please.

PD - yes DS has the crane too. It amazing. And the bulldozer is really good too. DH is lusting after the Death Star but we're running out of display room (what with all the rest of his toys figurines and collectibles )

I was pleased when, having a rare clear out/donating of toys last year, my 3 all insisted the Lego & Playmobil stay here.

Am leaving in an hour to meet CGM. Have renovated the ancient monument as well as I can, for me though, I feel less battered by events & lawyers & courts

As Somer said, have already done the kissing. And tbh, have known him for 3 years and flirted with him for the best part of a year.

Good luck 😉 fid, thinking bout you! Enjoy yourself life is too short! Tomorrow would have been my 45th wedding anniversary, he left me 15 years ago, and he passed away 2 years ago. I always find Xmas a strange time. On a lighter note hope you are all recovered from the wedding, my tutu is in the wash!!! Hope you had a good nights sleep zombie 🌸🌺🌸🌺

I've just been looking at the Lego sets as I thought one might be a good present for DGS. I see they do Falling Water, my favourite ever building, I'm so tempted to treat myself to it!

We got the Christmas cards from FIL & his wife today. Ours is written 'to DHName & Niece's name. I know her name is slightly sort of near mine - let's say Helen / Ellen. But niece is 23 and I've been with DH 17 years. You'd think he'd have got it straight by now .

I've decided that, since we're going out for Xmas day dinner, I'll cook us a Christmas-ish dinner on Xmas Eve. WHY did I think this was a good idea? It'll just be us, though. I'm doing an Iceland Chuck It All In & Fugeddaboudit:

Spatchcock duck
Roast potatoes
Carrot baubles
Parsnip Three Ways
Asparagus wrapped in bacon
Something green for DS - broccoli probably

Some of the mulled wine cheesecake for pud.

Then lots of wine & gin. Presents are wrapped already this year so no marathon session on Xmas Eve.

I bet Colonial Williamsburg looks beautiful, as ever. Many congrats to Mr and Mrs Z!

Hope the excitement of yesterday hasn't worn you out Zombie. Another day nearer to your newlyweds coming to visit. Bet you can't wait.how many times have you watched the video ?

Evening all! That was a crazy day! Met my DM in the Sainsbury's café, bought DS2 school trousers, bought myself a new phone, which I'm now using, back home, had lunch,went back to Sainsbury's, did shopping, back home, gave the DC tea, they've had baths and were in bed by 10, we had tea, I'm in bed now. We've been late all day.
