Can anyone who has an air fryer tell me if they are good and can you cook homemade chips in it ?

PacificDogwod · 04/12/2016 12:23

An air fryer?
What's the point in that??
Grin
Sorry, not helpful.

Damn.
Now I want chips. Made in dripping

Wolfiefan · 04/12/2016 12:25

Fabulous news about the wedding. Sending massive congratulations. Xxx

Mummylin · 04/12/2016 12:30

I am thinking of getting one for my dd, but I want to know a bit more about it. Supposed to be healthier as you only use a spoonful of oil. I want to know that chips cook like proper chips !!

IamtheZombie · 04/12/2016 12:44

A wren has just hopped through the lounge and into the kitchen.

I do not believe this is a morphine hallucination.

I believe I have a wren in my kitchen.

How the fuck do I get it back outside?????

OP posts:
AcrossthePond55 · 04/12/2016 12:59

You don't! You fix it a nice cup of tea and a slice of seed cake.

Srsly, close off the kitchen and leave the door or window open. Waft a towel from behind it towards the opening if you want to speed it on its way. Otherwise just sit and enjoy it.

IamtheZombie · 04/12/2016 13:00

Situation resolved. I managed to shut myself into the kitchen with the wren and the cats outside scratching at the door to come in.

I opened the biggest kitchen window as widely as possible, retreated to the other side of the kitchen and watched the wren fly around for a couple of minutes before heading for the great outdoors.

It was a bit surreal...

Are there any old wives tales about wrens coming into houses?

A bit of info about wrens Zombie

Allalonenow · 04/12/2016 13:37

I'm sometimes visited by a wren, as it hops about the climbing greenery around the study window, lovely little things, little flickers of cheerfulness. I've had families of wrens in the garden for many years.

Good job your cats didn't get a chance to add it to their "I Eat Spy Book of Tasty Garden Birds! Xmas Grin

I once had a jay fly in, not in this house, that was exciting!!

PacificDogwod · 04/12/2016 13:43

A wren? Wow, how lovely.
I bet it's your spirit bird, Zombie Smile

How are you feeling today?

AcrossthePond55 · 04/12/2016 13:53

Well, common superstition here says that if a bird poos on you it means good luck. Grin

In my culture (Native American) a bird entering a dwelling place means that important news is coming. If it gets out on its own (as opposed to catching and releasing), the news will be good news.

IamtheZombie · 04/12/2016 14:13

Thank you, CondensedMilkSarnies! That's fascinating.

Allalone, I think the most exciting uninvited guest ChezZombie was a bat.

Pacific, I'd say fair to middling today. I've got a bit of abdominal discomfort but it's by no means overwhelming. I've just had poached eggs on toast and tummy appears happy with that. (So far...)

A wren is a sign of increased activity and future hope, sounds okay to me 🌺🌺

Allalonenow · 04/12/2016 14:37

Eerrr I don't think I'd be too keen on a bat Zombie.

Though a friend has turned her loft into a bat hotel, that's a step too far for me. Xmas Smile

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 04/12/2016 14:40

Ooh I love wrens.

It's my (first in 8 years) Christmas luncheon on the 16th. I was worrying about what to wear (I fear I am a little muttonish these days and it's a young crowd) but as it's Zombielad's wedding I'll throw caution to the wind and bedeck and bedew my self in sparkles and shimmers!

We also do craft gin. It was supposed to be husband's Christmas present last year, I think he got one drink out of the last bottle...

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 04/12/2016 17:14

Ooh, maybe ZLad and ZLass have some important, good news to tell you Z

I wonder what that could be ...

Grin
HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 04/12/2016 18:30

Oh wouldn't that be the best Christmas present ever BBB. Let's not get our hopes up Grin

Mummylin · 04/12/2016 19:30

I don't like bats and if I had a bird flying around indoors I would freak out. I once had a dollop dropped on my head from a seagull when I was out with my gd,s ! Ugh it was horrible.

TheMagicFarawaySleep · 04/12/2016 19:47

Hi everyone, got my purple tutu ready for the 16th (also DH's birthday so he'll think I'm wearing it for him Grin). Save me a seat next to you Susie so that we can clash beautifully together Grin.

Hope the hospital trip wasn't too gruelling Zombie, and that you're resting now.

Those of you moving 3 weeks before Xmas......you are hardcore! Moving is awful at the best of times, but I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than do it before Xmas. Massive rations of gin for you WineWine

We used to have two bats living in our bathroom loft. Watching them fly around outside at dusk was wonderful. Then suddenly, there was only one Sad and now we haven't seen that one for ages. Sad, because I'd become quite attached to them. We also apparently have a wasps nest in the loft area. Thankfully, the residents of that appeared to have up sticks, as it looks deserted. Bleurgh! The builder that found it wouldn't move it. I hope no wasps move back in. Yuck.

IamtheZombie · 04/12/2016 20:30

I've just been skyping with ZombieLad.

Puddin' and Baxter are gentleman cats so will not be wearing fascinators. ZLad did mention they are thinking of getting cat tuxedos for them.

OP posts:
Susiesoap7 · 04/12/2016 20:52

Saving you a seat magic, do you think we could maybe do a little ballet to show off our tutus? Lol. Loving cat tuxedos 😻😻

OhTheRoses · 04/12/2016 21:00

Nothing better than a good wedding. I can't remember the last time I saw a wren but bats ooh yes, lots of those. There was a morning when I woke and dh had a towel around his head. He then told me there had been a bat in the bedroom and he'd spent several minutes trying to get it out to no avail so wrapped his head. I slept through all this and no thought for my poor head. Anyway there was no sign in the morning and he and I assumed it had gone. Not another thought until bedtime. DH was asleep, I went up, closed the curtains and shrieked - there it was fast asleep between the sheets. DH grunted and told me to stop making a fuss. I went to the spare room and refused to re-enter until he promised it was gone. Vile. Never drop off with a light on and the windows wide open.

PacificDogwod · 04/12/2016 21:01

Oh, the gentleman cats will look ever so refined!

Does ZombieLad live very far from you, Zombie? Sorry to be nosey but still asking Blush

OhTheRoses · 04/12/2016 21:02

Not sheets, pleats, as in as I closed the curtains, there it was hanging between two triple pleats. Ugh!!!
