Zombie and Chemo - The Ongoing Saga

Evening Phalanx.

My cancer has spread. There are more liver lesions and several areas in my lymph system. My body is too debilitated for any sort of further chemo. My oncologist is going to contact the Royal Marsden just in case they have any other sort of clinical trials that may be appropriate but frankly that is a one in a billion chance. There is nothing more they can do for me except to manage my pain and give me a good exit.

The average life expectancy with no further treatment is 6 months. I'm reckoning that means that someone in my situation will die tomorrow while someone else makes it for a year. I'm aiming for the latter.

Please do not say anything on Facebook until you have seen me post this on my timeline. There are still 2 people (including ZombieLad) that I need to tell face to face / one to one before I go completely public.

Don't know how you feel about the election tomorrow Zomb

Actually, have written this post a couple of times and it feels a bit weird to be talking about this here, but would also be bizarre for it to not be mentioned.

I imagine you're concerned, just clumsily trying to show solidarity.

3 years or so ago, when the Phalanx hadn't swelled to the numbers it is now, you told a few of us that your prognosis was 6-9 months.

And here you still are.

And you flew across the country in the middle of the night to rescue a total stranger.

And you wowed us all with those legs and that red satin dress.

And you're already a star ((((()))))

And we're all here for you to vent at whenever you want.

Oh my god , I feel so shocked to hear this even though you have repeatedly told us the outcome. You are an absolute brick and have shown great courage. I know that the Phalanx will also be wishing that you have the longest time possible. It's definitely a DBF day.

Cancer is a bastard and gets all the best people. YOU are one of the best people and I risk sounding like my 10 year old when I wail "it's not faaaaaaaaaaaiiiiirrr!!"

I hope you managed at least a couple of hours sleep Zombie, despite things now being so tough. It must of been a very difficult conversation with Zombielad, but what a blessing that you have had your couple of holidays and lots of contact with him. And Christmas time still to come together.
Like the rest of the Phalanx, my thoughts are with you.

Don't know what to say that will be of comfort to you dear zombie, every morning I'm sat on my little garden wall at 6.45 having my coffee and a ciggie, at the same time I pray for healing for all my family n friends that are suffering, I ask for extra help for you, I don't know you but you are a truly amazing special person xxx 🌺🌺🌺
