Valeta or military two step ikl?

Fiderer · 05/11/2016 09:51

American Smooth or Quickstep for me. Depending on quantity of alcohol consumed, perhaps a drunken Waltz.

Mummylin · 05/11/2016 12:18

I am also standing with BBB, I prefer to have my feet on the ground ! Fish and chips sounds fine, but no pork pie for me ugh !

IamtheZombie · 05/11/2016 12:27

Last night was just one of those nights where, having managed to fall into a fitful sleep around 23.00 (having taken some paracetamol at 22.00), I woke at 02.15 with almost every part of my body in pain. Muscle spasms and cramps in hands and feet. Random muscle pain in arms, legs and back. Severe bone pain all around my ribcage. Hips and shoulders aching. Abdominal pain.

A cocktail of co-codamol and ibuprofen finally kicked in around 04.30 and I was able to get back to sleep until around 10.00.

All of these are possible side effects of Kadcyla (TDM-1). It's nearly 5 weeks since my last treatment so it looks as though these are going to be long term problems requiring additional pain management which I will discuss with my oncologist on Monday.

What rotten night for you zombie, do you have a heat pad? Don't know if it would be of any use but I guess it might be worth a try. 🌸🌸🌸

Susiesoap7 · 05/11/2016 12:50

How about this for change of plan to Blackpool, we could drink wine on the beach, eat fish n chips, then do the Hokey Cokey into the ballroom! I will keep pork pies in my coat pocket!

IamtheZombie · 05/11/2016 13:16

Susie, I like a cold bedroom but a warm bed so I had put 3 hot water bottles in the bed at about 21.30. When I went to bed I just moved them over into the centre of the bed under the duvet (to keep them warm). The first thing I did when the pain woke me up was to try relaxing muscles using the hot water bottles but the pain was way beyond them giving much any relief.

I have a certain degree of background pain most of the time but at least twice a week I have a night from hell. I try to be judicious in my use of codeine / morphine as a) constipation is not my friend and b) I don't want to become dependent on them.

Oh Zombie, that sounds horrendous. I hope the docs can give you something that will manage the pain for you, it's bad enough having pain in just one part of your body so it must be awful to have it all over.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 05/11/2016 15:50

Oh Zombie that's just awful. You are very smart to think about the impact on your digestion / bowel too, I won't go into any detail but DDad had a hell of a time with it and twas very unpleasant indeed for him and my DMum. Of course he was on absolutely massive doses of all sorts of stuff.

I would love to go to Blackpool. We never made it there in all our 13 years in Blighty, one of my regrets.

Happy Bonfire Night everyone, be safe and eat lots of burnt sausages.

HerRoyalFattyness · 05/11/2016 15:54

Poor zombie Sad

Allalonenow · 05/11/2016 20:05

Oh Zombie how horrible for you, and everything seems so very much worse in the deep dark silence of the night I think. Glad you had a lie in this morning and maybe you had an afternoon nap to catch up with some sleep?

I hope you have a much better night tonight, are the fireworks likely to go on late nearby? There are new people moved in close by me and they have had fireworks every night since Halloween weekend, it's getting beyond a joke now! How have you cats been with all the noise Zombie?

Susiesoap7 · 05/11/2016 22:05

Hoping you have a better night tonight dear zombie 🌺🌺🌺

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 05/11/2016 22:22

Oh Zombie that sounds like a really hard time, so sorry for you sweetheart.

Hope the oncologist gives a really thorough review of all your meds tomorrow, maybe can suggest something to offset the codeine/morphine.

It must be paramount that you get good sleep, to maintain your strength.

I must admit, I would be inclined to take the painkillers tonight in order to get some reasonable sleep. This, bearing in mind you can review everything tomorrow.

Sending sleepy, fuckoffpain vibes, and hugs xxx

IamtheZombie · 05/11/2016 22:49

It's been a very achy day. I got a few things accomplished but not as much as I had hoped.

The hot water bottles are warming my bed. I've had all my usual drugs plus a dose of ibuprofen. I have to be careful with the ibuprofen as it can interact with my beta blocker but I do find it far more effective than paracetamol. I also have the morphine out and will take 10ml (20mg) just before I go up to bed. I really need a decent night's sleep.

Ach, sorry, my spliff drone knocks off at midnight Grin

(((Bear)))

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 06/11/2016 05:25

Come and visit me. Canada, happy home of medical marijuana. Grin

Seriously the largest drugstore chain (Shoppers Drug Mart - think Boots) is going to start dispensing it officially. I can already wander down to my high street and buy it in a couple of shops. If I wanted to. Just sayin'

magimedi · 06/11/2016 07:17

When I had a bad frozen shoulder the odd spliff or two helped more than any prescription meds. Just saying.

Hope you had a better night, Zombie.

Ponders yet another reason to visit Canada................ Grin

IamtheZombie · 06/11/2016 13:03

Last night was better than the night before. The morphine conquered the bone, muscle and joint pain. I still had a quite uncomfortable abdomen. I don't really understand that as I seem to have got the movicol regime working well.

I got up at 07.00 and thought I was wide awake. However it became clear by 08.00 that I was still deep in a morphine haze so I went back for some more horizontal time and didn't surface again until about an hour ago.

Glad you had a better night Zombie, your body must of really needed the rest when you went back to bed as well. Are you feeling refreshed or still tired ?
magi I too had a frozen shoulder and it took over a year to feel right. And if there was a chance to bang it, I bloody well did, a horrible pain too.

Allalonenow · 06/11/2016 18:12

Glad to hear that you had a better night Zombie and hope you can repeat that tonight as well.

Oh frozen shoulder is horrible, I had so much trouble with mine, but had my shoulder rebuilt a couple of years ago and it's been fine since thank heavens.

iklboo · 06/11/2016 21:32

Sorry to hear you're having a time of it Zombie. I know poor sleep makes everything seem even worse for me - I really don't know how you do it. Talk about an inspiration!

Here's this week's Strictly round up - on time but later than normal. DS's birthday shenanigans and all that. He had a great day - apart from all the team crying because of the cold and rain at rugby today. Little troupers they are. Shame the home ref was biased as all feck (breathe, iklboo, breathe!!). Still, the cake went down well - and fast!

Wooooooahhhhhh - This Strictly's On Fire

Mummylin · 06/11/2016 23:45
